Chapter 278 To The Next Village
"I did it...I defeated the Troll! Even though I've used up most of my spiritual Qi, in the end, it was worth it." Rose exclaimed looking at the massive Troll's corpse lying on the ground lifelessly, feeling exhausted after using most of her Spiritual Qi.
If she hadn't managed to notice the opportunity to launch her final attack at Troll from mid-air, then it would've taken much more time and effort to kill the Troll.
Seeing that Rose has successfully slain the Troll, Yuan and his other wives approach her.
"I didn't expect you to use your spear in such a manner to launch yourself into the air... You surprised me." Yuan said to Rose with a smile on his face, as he was impressed by how she managed to launch herself into the air and launch her attack from there.
"Yeah, big sis Rose. That was an amazing fight! And you took down the Troll with a single attack from mid-air. It was simply incredible!" Julie said.
Ava then said, "Indeed. The Troll was so strong but you still managed to beat it without even getting a minor scratch, you've gotten stronger Big Sis."
After witnessing Rose has managed to kill the Troll, Yuan and his wives are sure that Rose has become stronger and her experience with the Spear has significantly increased compared to the past. Or she wouldn't have been able to use her spear in such a manner.
"Rose, it seems that you've gotten stronger. Defeating a Troll in such a manner is nothing short of ordinary. As expected of my daughter-in-law, you're very talented when it comes to wielding the Spear." Anna Grace also expressed her thoughts as well, she was very impressed by how Rose came up with such an attack plan and ultimately slain the Troll.
Hearing all the praises, Rose couldn't help but feel bashful about it and her cheeks immediately turned red.
"I-It all thanks to my training...if I haven't trained with my spear then I wouldn't be able to come up with an idea to use the spear in such a way..." Rose replied with a blush on her face.
A few moments later, Yuan looked at the girls and said, "Now bring the question, what should we do with the Troll's massive body? There is no way this thing will fit any of your spatial rings, the size of this thing is too big to fit in your rings."
"This is indeed a problem for us," Anna Grace nodded. "Even if we cut this thing into pieces, it will hardly fit into all of our spatial rings. And to do that all we have to do is take out our belongings from our spatial rings."
"Since it is impossible to take the whole Troll with us, let's take his massive club as well as his eyes as proof."
"Alright, we'll do as you say, Darling."
Then Anna Grace looked at the Troll's corpse, and asked, "What about the body then? If we leave it like this it will create a lot of problems for the farmers."
Indeed, leaving the massive corpse of the Troll will create a lot of problems for the villagers as it will attract numerous meat-eating monsters from the nearby forest, which will start attacking the farmers.
Furthermore, as the body starts to decompose, it will start polluting the air in the village and the city as well as the surrounding areas. This will ultimately risk the people's lives as they might get infected by an unknown disease, which may take their lives in just a few days of infection.
Thus, leaving the body behind like this is not an option for Yuan and his wives as they don't want to put the people's lives at risk.
After thinking for a moment, Yuan turned to see Xi Meili and said, "Let Xi Meili burn the corpse with her flame. With her flames, it will only take a few seconds to completely burn the whole corpse and not even the bones will be left."
"I see... How could I forget about Xi Meili's special flames..." Anna Grace sighed, as it never came into her mind that Xi Meili could burn the Troll's corpse into nothingness effortlessly.
"Just leave it to me, I'll burn this thing into ashes in no time." Xi Meili exclaimed, feeling proud of her flames.
After that, Yuan took Ava's dagger from his system storage and approached the corpse. He then used the dagger to remove the Troll's eyes from its face.
Once he was done, he retrieved a pouch from his system storage and stored the eyeballs inside it before storing it inside his system storage along with the dagger.
Then he said, "Xi Meili, now use your flames and burn this thing and make sure nothing is left."
"Understood, Hubby!"
Xi Meili then snapped her finger and a small wisp of a mixture of crimson red and black flame appeared on her palm, as she poured her spiritual Qi into the whip of a flame, the flame grew larger until it became the size of a watermelon.
"Burn to ashes!"
Xi Meili tossed the flame toward the corpse, and the moment the flame touched the corpse, it immediately covered the entire body in flame and started feeding on the corpse.
After a few seconds later, the flames have disappeared along with the corpse. Aside from the burn marks on the ground, there was no trace of the Troll.
"Unbelievable..." Ava couldn't believe in her eyes how easily Xi Meili's flame burned the massive corpse into nothingness in just a few seconds.
Rose and Julie were equally baffled by the scene, as they never witnessed the true power of Xi Meili's flames.
Now that they've completed the task, they return to the village to inform the villagers that they've taken down the troublesome Troll that has been causing problems for them.
Once they arrived at the village, they saw the old man from before was waiting for their return.
When the old man noticed them, he immediately approached them and asked, "Young Hunters', how did it go? Did you all manage to kill that thing?"
"You don't need to fear that Troll from now on, we've successfully slain the Troll," Yuan said with a smile and showed them the Troll's massive club.
Hearing Yuan's words, the old man became silent and blinked a few times at Yuan. But, soon the old man let out a wide smile on his face and tears began to roll down from his wrinkled cheeks.
"F-Finally... Finally that vile creature has been slain... We don't have to worry about losing our fields and livestock to that creature anymore." n(-0Velb1n
However, Yuan and his wives expected this kind of reaction from the old man and weren't surprised in the least.
After spending some time around the village, Yuan and his wives said goodbye to the villagers and left the village.
They headed towards the next village on the outskirts of the Monbrook City, where a pack of lone wolves terrorized the local farmers. And more than three villagers have already died from the wolves' attack.
After continuously walking for more than half an hour, Yuan asked, "Big Sis Lily, How far is the village? We've been walking for more than half an hour already and there is no sign of any village."
"Let's continue walking, the next village is just ahead of those tall trees." Lily pointed her finger at the tall trees in the distance.
A few moments later, Yuan and his wives arrived at the vicinity of the village.
Yuan and his wives are able to see a few males patrolling the village with a long, thick stick in their hands and looking out for any wolf getting close to the village.
Once Yuan and his wives get close to the village, one of the villagers notices them and immediately approaches them.
"Are you the hunters dispatched by the Hunter Association?" The villager asked with an anticipated look on his face.
"That's right, we're dispatched by the hunter association to exterminate the pack of wolves troubling the villagers." Yuan nodded with a smile on his face.
"F-Finally, you guys have arrived." The villager released a long sigh of relief after hearing Yuan's words as though a heavy weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
"Please welcome to our village, Hunters." The villager then leads them inside the village.
As they entered the village, Yuan and his wives saw the situation of the village which was not good looking. The women and children were terrified of the wolves' attack, they had dark circles around their eyes resulting from not getting enough sleep at night.
Yuan then turned to see the villager, and asked, "What is the current situation of the village? Have the wolves recently attacked?"
"As you can see, the current condition of our village is pretty dire." The villager let out a sigh and continued, "People aren't getting enough sleep at night, as the wolves only attack at nighttime and we've already lost a few villages to the wolves who have families."
