Chapter 21 Number Four
"What a pity...I didn't have much hope but this is worse than I thought." Elder Lin sighed inwardly and shook his head.
However, the crimson light started transforming its color again. This time it changed from red to orange and finally Yellow.
Elder Lin stood up from his chair as this strange occurrence happened.
Xue Rou gasped in amazement as the swirling yellow light still didn't calm down.
"Why is this happening?" The old man's face was filled with puzzlement.
He scrunched his eyebrows hard while looking at the bizarre scene playing in front of his shocked eyes.
The yellow light changed into green for a single second and transformed into blue, which moved in an exciting rhythm. It sped up even faster and Its shade started darkening.
This mystifying development caused elder Lin to open his mouth in astonishment as the numbers kept flashing on the spirit grading artifact.
Elder Lin was too amazed to give his attention to it but the spirit grading artifact numbering had broken past 50 already.
The color broke through into an indigo region as it started vibrating the desk by all the storm it was causing inside the spirit appraisal crystal ball.
However, even after becoming indigo, the speed didn't reduce. It kept swirling as if being playful to its audience.
The old man had his mind blown away by this ongoing incident but what happened next caused him to fall on his buttock to his chair again.
The indigo color changed into Violet and kept darkening.
'Hey...Nova...Stop being mischievous.'
In the end, Meng Long commanded his spirit in soul seal to not cause a ruckus.
The initial crimson color finally reached its original form, Violet, and calmed down after hearing its master order.
Xue Rou was also surprised by this outcome but she knew his spirit was at Violet grade so it didn't shock her like elder Lin.
The gray-haired Oldman calm down but he was looking at Meng Long as if he was a monster.
Because the number on spirit grading changed to 4, Elder Lin didn't speak anything for a while as he was lost in thought.
"What happened Elder Lin, can he join the inner court?" Xue Rou's voice brought back the old man from his surprisingly dazed look.
"Yeah he can join but this is strange. Two Violet grade spirit rankers appearing at the same time and marking their position among the top ranking in spirit grading artifact." He spoke to the black-haired beauty while he was contemplating carefully.

"Who are the other three?" Meng Long asked as he wasn't perturbed by this incident.
"We all know about the first one. She is the strongest existence on the continent but never involve herself in mortals' affair." Elder Lin said in a respective tone.
"Saintess." Xue Rou mumbled as she was familiar with the person in the given description.
Elder Lin nodded and continued, "Second is Princess of Trasia Country. I examined her spirit yesterday and it had already amazed me but that's an heir from the phoenix family so it was understandable.
Third is Xue Rou, the frozen queen whom you melted for whatever reason.
And fourth... do I have to say it?"
He looked annoyed by the events that took place.

He took out a purple brooch and placed it on the desk, "This is your identity badge for being a student of the inner court. Go to the underground cave doorway we have at the academy and ask the guards to let you enter the Tianhai's Trials place."
Xue Rou and Meng Long bowed to the elder respectively and left the room after taking the brooch.
They went towards the eastern gate where they had come from and entered one of the cottages.
Inside the cottage was nothing like a house as there were downstairs to go deeper into a cave.
They followed the path and a spacious large cave appeared. The walls were black and magic stones illuminated the dark space.

It was bigger than the hall of the teaching department where Meng Long had taken his entrance test.
A big ascended stage was located in the middle where a door-like structure was made. The middle area of it had swirling black smoke that appeared like a space rift.
A middle-aged man was sitting on the ascended stage in a meditative position.
When Xue rou and company entered the cave he opened his eyes.
He stared at Meng Long with an eagle-like gaze as if asking why he was there but his eyes became tender as they moved toward the lady beside him.
Meng Long hovered the purple badge in front of him and said, "I am here to take the Tianhai's Trials."
