Su Hongxing noticed the disdain that flashed in Xiaole’s eyes. Instead of responding directly, she asked in a soft voice, “Can I choose any room I like?”

“Are you not going to stay in the master bedroom?” Xiaole countered. Internally, she thought, if she were Mr. Ye, she wouldn’t be able to lay a finger on such an ugly, obese woman.

The sight of Su Hongxing’s large size would surely turn off any man, wouldn’t it? Especially someone as outstanding as Mr. Ye?

Su Hongxing carried her luggage upstairs, heading straight for the master bedroom. Standing in front of the master bedroom, she paused.

The master bedroom was void of furniture except for a bed in the middle. Everything was pure white, from the curtains that swayed in the wind to the floor.

She had never seen a bedroom like this before, igniting a bit of curiosity about the man Ye Qilan.

As she walked into the master bedroom, she noticed there was a room for changing clothes.

Inside the white wardrobe, she quickly scanned and noticed that Ye Qilan’s clothes were either black or white. His shirts, especially, seemed to be white.

It had to be said, this man, Ye Qilan, was quite odd.

Xiaole thought Su Hongxing would stay in the master bedroom and was wondering how she could get her to leave, but Su Hongxing consciously left and found another bedroom instead.

“You go and do what you need to do. I want to be alone.” Su Hongxing issued an eviction order.

She could see the disdain and contempt in Xiaole’s eyes but simply chose to ignore it, preferring to avoid conflict if possible.

After Xiaole left, Su Hongxing went online to search for “Ye Qilan” in order to gather some information on his background.

She could tell this man was either rich or noble, but she had never heard anyone talk about him before.

The search results were disappointing.

While she could find his name online, there was no detailed explanation about his family background or career history.

There were two possibilities. First, Ye Qilan was a nobody; second, Ye Qilan was notable but preferred to keep a low profile.

Although she hoped for the first scenario, she realized it was unlikely.

Xiaole didn’t treat Su Hongxing as the lady of the house and didn’t prepare lunch.

Fortunately, Su Hongxing was used to fending for herself. She made a bowl of noodles for herself, dealing with her hunger. As she came out of the kitchen, she saw Xiaole secretly observing.

Pretending not to see Xiaole, she left the living room and sat down on a chair next to the pool, intending to send out job applications online.

Just as she was busy doing this, Madame Xiao called her.

“Dear, why did you suddenly move out?”

Hearing Madame Xiao’s concerned voice, Su Hongxing’s eyes misted up, “I shared a rental with a classmate. I was going to tell you sooner, but I was afraid you’d try to stop me so I decided to do it before telling you about it. Madame Xiao, I’m sorry.”

“Don’t say such silly things. I just don’t want you to suffer. Moving out is fine, but remember to visit me every weekend, okay?”

To Madame Xiao, having Hongxing around was just like having her own daughter. After all, she was the child she watched grow up.

“Of course, I’ll be back in a few days to enjoy your braised pork belly, it’s so delicious.” Su Hongxing responded with a smile.

“No matter how much you want to eat, there will be enough. Remember to come back.” Madame Xiao reminded her repeatedly, only hanging up when she felt reassured.

Su Hongxing let out a sigh of relief. Even without Xiao Ji, she still had Madame Xiao who loved and cared for her.
