Chapter 5 5 - Welcome
The first thing that went through Milo's head was obviously, "Huh?" What does it mean I can copy the Telepath ability? And the second was, can no one else see this screen? It looked like a screen out of a video game and it was still sitting within his vision. I thought I was hallucinating at first he thought, but then he heard a chime in my head, and another screen appeared in his vision that gave him more questions. The screen read:

When reading this he thought to myself "Mailbox?" And as if on command the minute mailbox entered his stream of thought another screen appeared.

When looking at the screen he chose the first message as it seemed like that was the first one he should read. Once it opened it simply said

When reading this he finally realized what the first screen meant by copy, it had something to do with the system that was awoken. But he had no idea why the system had awoken and why he had received it of all people. He cleared the message and opened the second message this one gave him more information about the system itself.

When viewing Awakened Beings you can now view their ability.
If the correct conditions are met, you can plunder the ability adding it to your own list of abilities
As you level up the system more powers tied to the system can be unlocked
By saying status you can view your status window, this gives information about your current abilities.

When reading the description provided by the system, he was shocked. His previous issues of being unable to defend himself could now change. He would no longer be weak. He could gather the strongest abilities around and wield them as his own. His next decision was to open the status window.

When in the status menu Milo was able to interact with the screen and by touching each statistic he could learn more about what each statistic meant. Strength, Agility and Stamina were self explanatory.
He first clicked where it said Title, the system explained that by doing certain feats he would gain titles that could boost stats or give additional benefits.
Following the Title section he clicked on the ability slots, when doing so he was elated to learn that he was able to delete slots that were taken up already, this would allow him to pick and choose what abilities he wanted to keep and get rid of. The only drawback being that the slot would take a week to open back up if forcibly deleted.
Up next was the intelligence stat, this one seemed the most odd, as he wasn't sure what boosting his intelligence stat would do for him. When clicking on it he was a little disappointed as he knew he'd need to invest in the stat pretty heavily if he wanted to be as strong as he hoped. The intelligence stat allowed him to "understand" the ability, if his intelligence was too low he couldn't use the abilities he plundered as powerfully as he would hope. As he raised the stat his understanding of his abilities would increase and he could use them more powerfully.
He then checked constitution and this stat allowed him to have overall better resistance when being attacked, this included mental fortitude against psychic abilities.
The last stat he checked was magic power, and it was somewhat what he expected, the magic power stat determined how long he could use his abilities as well as how many ability slots he was able to have. As his magic stat got higher the longer he could use his abilities he plundered as well as the more abilities he could plunder and make his own. The only downside was the only way to increase the magic stat was by absorbing it from essence stones or other means.
According to his own knowledge too, the slot that says free stat points meant he could freely distribute his stats where he wanted to as well, which made him different from other awakeners as when they improved their abilities they got randomly assigned as they grew. After doing his research he closed his status window
Awakeners could all check their stats through their Holo, a hightech watch that took over smartphones as the new communication device used around the world and it ran using the magisphere a layer of magical energy that surrounded the earth that appeared following the emergence of dimensional distortions. But with Milo having a second status window he could look at his status in more detail than an awakener would normally be able to see.
Overall things were off to a good start, and with the Awakened Academy move in day coming up, Milo would have a bit of time to test some of his newfound abilities out. Starting with his best friend, who for now, would be the only person he told about the system.
