Chapter 56 55 - Slight Change Of Plans

When going in to tell Ms. Teller, who was all in his group, she marked it down and told him that he would need to report to the front of the school with his group Monday morning. After confirming it again, he made his way back to his dorm and let his friends know what was going on.

When hearing where Milo and Zach would be going there were mixed reactions to say the least. The girls were worried that they could get hurt and the guys were hyped that the two would get real experience in a gate. After going through all the details and telling the girls that it wouldn't just be students in the gate, but an association member would be joining them as well, their nerves were settled a bit.

"So are you guys getting paid for this? Do you get to keep the loot?" asked Chris.

"Yeah, we get paid and get to keep everything," responded Milo.

"Damn, my friends are about to be rich. You guys are basically junior gatecrashers," Chris said next, "Make sure you hook me up when you make guild connections," he said with a wink.

The rest of the night, the group hung out, ate, and had some fun before Milo and Zach left.

When Monday rolled around, Milo and Zach met up with Luke and Chloe, before the group made their way to the entrance of campus.

"Once you check in with me, your group will be assigned an association member and will then be assigned a gate that you will close," announced Ms. Teller.

Milo and his group went up and received their assignment, their association member was a B rank gatecrasher named Marco. After meeting him, he explained that while he would not be getting involved in closing the gate, he would be there to move in case anything went wrong. This meant that essentially they would be closing the gate themselves and he would only be there to keep them alive if the situation got too dangerous, which is exactly what Milo was expecting. When checking all the association members' abilities, it seemed like all of them had some sort of healing ability. In the case of Marco, he had an ability called healing aura, it most likely would allow him to heal those in a certain area around him.

After being assigned their squad's association member, they were also assigned a gate. The gate Milo's group would be closing was labeled gate number 3 and located on the outskirts of London, England and was a rank E gate. Just like gatecrashers, gates were also ranked from X to F. A gate's rank determined how many hunters of a certain rank were estimated to be needed to close it; it would theoretically take a squad of five rank Fs to close an F ranked gate. Based on this, the squad of four students who were considered as powerful as at least D ranked gatecrashers should have no problems closing the gates they were assigned. Especially with a high ranked association member to back them up if things got dicey.

After a few minutes every group had received their assignments, however standing next to Ms. Teller was one girl who was pretty well known in the X ranked class due to how cold she was to everyone, her name was Maria Van Orten. While she was extremely beautiful with her long black hair and her big blue eyes, every guy who had asked her out was turned down with extreme brutality.

"Due to there only being 17 students who wanted to partake in the field experience, it meant one student would be without a group, because of this I will be assigning the extra student to a group at random," said Ms. Teller.

Milo had a bad feeling, any group she got placed in would most likely have an issue dealing with her personality.

After a second, Ms. Teller announced, "Maria will be joining the group assigned to gate number 3."
