Chapter 523

Camilla glared at Aiden as he grinned at her phone, she prayed that Cedric had managed to pick up on the clues she left. She couldn't be too obvious or else Aiden would have picked that she was trying to tell Cedric that she had been abducted.

"That Reyes boy doesn't deserve to inherit the country's most powerful family." Aiden said, shaking his head. "No worries, after tonight, he and all his friends will lose everything that is important to him, just as I had lost my little sister and now my younger brother."

Camilla's eyes widened in shock, she remembered her brother, but she didn't think he was still alive.

"Shocking, isn't it. But it's true, there were once three of us." Aiden said in an angry tone. "My sister, as you probably know, died when she was young because of Katerina Sebastian, and now, my brother Benedict is dead because of Cedric Reyes."

Camilla felt like crying, her older brother Benedict was the only person that was kind to her growing up. Thinking he was dead and knowing that he was dead were two different things.

"I was so fortunate to get matched to you today little miss secretary." Aiden said with a grin.

Camilla felt a stray tear fall from her eyes as she recalled how she ended up in this situation.

Earlier that day

Camilla stretched her arms as she and the other assistants finally made it back to the CEO's floor. She missed this, it was much simpler working as Cedric's assistant rather than as his VP for Mor Co.

"Did the boss say when you guys are going back?" Camilla heard Dave ask Ian as they walked back to their desks.

"I'm guessing in a few weeks, Cedric might not show it, but he is grieving." Ian said with a frown as he entered Cedric's office to organize the documents.

"Honestly, I would prefer to simply be his assistant." Camilla confessed as she took a look at the work she still needed to do.

"How are you coping with all of this, Camilla?" Dave asked as he placed a hand on Camilla's shoulder.

Camilla sighed and shook her head.

"Don't push her, Dave." Ian scolded in a firm tone. "If Camilla isn't ready to talk about it, then don't ask."

"Sorry." Dave said in a shy tone as he sunk back into his seat.

"No, I'm ready to talk about." Camilla suddenly said as she took a deep breath and rolled her office chair to the center table in their area.

"Are you sure?" Ian asked as he pulled a seat closer as well.

Camilla nodded and smiled. Dave and Mae soon joined them bringing over some tea.

"This didn't seem like a coffee kind of moment." Dave said with a shrug.

"You're just making excuses because you forgot to buy more beans." Mae said with a laugh as they sat down.

"I missed this." Camilla said with a smile as she took her mug from Dave. "I mean, it's nice working on something else other than Cedric's needs, but I miss having people around me that didn't fear me."

"Well, that's the life of a boss." Ian said with a laugh. "Don't tell me you didn't expect this."

"I didn't expect to be some hot shot executive so soon." Camilla said, shaking her head. "You guys wanted to know how I'm doing?" She asked.

The others nodded in reply, they were all concerned about her. Based on what Camilla had told them she had a rough childhood, something she had decided to forget, and now, her brother was charging back into her life.

"Honestly, I'm doing better than I expected." Camilla said with a shrug. "I thought remembering my past would break me, but it's actually helped me feel grateful about how lucky I was that they left me with Katerina, I was luckier than the others."

"The oth -" As Ian was about to speak his phone began to ring. "It's Nicole, she probably wants me home soon." Ian said as he excused himself.

"Anyway, I feel so good that I've decided to go on a date tonight." Camilla said proudly.

"Wow, that's amazing." Mae said with a smile. "Need any help getting ready?" Mae asked excitedly.

"Sure. Let's go to my place once work is done." Camilla said with a nod.

"So what did I miss, and make it quick, I have ten minutes." Ian told the other assistants.

"Camilla has a date." Dave proudly told Ian.

"Oh, how did you meet this one?" Ian asked as he began to put away his things for the day.

"Well I met him through an app." Camilla said with a shrug.

"Woah, Camilla, miss traditional is actually risking it all with a dating app?" Ian asked Camilla. "What kind of an app would be able to catch your attention anyway?"

"Well, it guarantees full discretion, and all the members are executives or people involved in big business." Camilla said with a shrug.

"Wow, that's one high end dating service." Mae teased as she looked at the clock. "What time is your date?"

"8pm, why?" Camilla asked.

"We should go then." Mae told her as she quickly packed her things.

"Wait, you guys are leaving me?" Dave complained.

"Cherish it, when you become the big boss, you'll never be alone." Camilla teased as she grabbed her bag and left with Mae.

"Wow, they left faster than I did." Camilla heard Ian say with a laugh as they got into the elevator.

It had been a while since Camilla had last gone on a date, so she was quite rough around the edges.

Mae constantly scolded her about not picking out the proper dress or the proper make up for a date. Camilla was glad that the younger woman had volunteered to help her out.

By the time 7:30pm rolled by Camilla was looking at a fresher younger version of herself in the mirror.

"Wow, you're amazing Mae!" Camilla exclaimed.

"I didn't do much, you're really pretty, you just need to show it." Mae said with a giggle. "Anyway, I'm off. I'll see you tomorrow. Enjoy your date."

"Thanks again Mae!" Camilla said as she closed the door behind her friend.

After a few minutes Camilla's phone began to ring. When she noticed that it was an unknown number she suspected it to be her date.

He had told her that he would pick her up at 7:45pm so that they could make their reservation.

"Yes?" Camilla asked as she picked up the call.

"Hey, is this ForeverCam?" Asked a youthful voice, as he mentioned the username Camilla used on the app.

"Yup, who is this?" Camilla asked, she didn't want to assume that this was her date.

"Oh, this is Nightgrain06." The man said over the phone. it was indeed her date. The username he had mentioned was the one she had been paired with. "I'm in the black van outside your building."

"Oh, I'll be right down." Camilla said in a happy tone as she dropped the call.

She quickly did some last minute checks on her clothes and make up before finally heading down.

She spotted the black van he was referring to and went up to it.

Before she could even knock, the door slid open and she was pulled in.

Camilla tried to fight back as her hands were tied behind her back and her legs tied together. A blindfold was placed over her eyes, but this didn't deter her, she continued to fight.

She never thought her date would end up with her getting abducted, who knew what these men had planned.

"Now, now, little assistant, stop fighting. If you keep fighting, things will get worse for you." Camilla paled at the voice, she knew who it was. It was her older brother Aiden.

Present

"Tsk, tsk, tsk." Aiden said as he shook his head. "You aren't even listening to me."

Out of anger he suddenly kicked Camilla in the stomach making her chair fall over.

"Don't worry, once that boss of yours shows up at the meet up point, I'm going to kill you in front of him." Aiden said with a malicious grin.

Camilla felt tears fall from her eyes, so many thoughts and feelings coursed through her. How did her brother end up this way? She prayed that Cedric could save her, she prayed that she wouldn't die.
