Chapter 1534 Side Quest
'If I have at least one percent of my real life's strength, I would have easily killed this rank 3 forest cat. What a pity! I will be dying in the claws of a rank 3 barbaric beast.'
A rank 3 barbaric beast's strength is equivalent to the rank 3 spirit beast in real life which is equivalent to a commander's realm.
So, Ajax felt his first nightmare world is the worst nightmare world where he would be dying in the claws of a spirit beast that he never thought he would die.
'No…I have to do something and survive. I can't give up yet.'
Suddenly, Ajax thought of something and clenched his fists and swore, 'Since I am going to die anyway, I will try my best to put up a fight.'
Even though Ajax won't be dying for real inside the Nightmare world, he didn't want to give up yet.
The thing is, Ajax thought he should at least do some damage to the rank 3 barbaric beast as he hoped, he might get a few nightmare points for that.
If he died in the Nightmare World now, Ajax doubted he would be getting any Nightmare points as he entered this world a few minutes ago.
Moreover, when he enters a nightmare world for the second time, without nightmare points, he would get another bad starting point.
Therefore, he decided to at least try fighting the beast with his injured body to impress the system to get some nightmare points.

A side quest has been issued to the host.

Side Quest: Kill the rank 3 barbaric forest cat.
Reward: 1) 100 Nightmare points (Add to the host's assessment in the nightmare world at the end).
2) One random skill belonging to the rank 3 barbaric forest cat.
Just as Ajax got the determination to survive, he received a side quest from the system, that was pleasantly surprised; however, when reading the objective of the 'Side Quest', he revealed a bitter smile.
'I was barely able to move my body and you expect me to get a rank 3 barbaric beast.'
Ajax could not help but shake his head and thought, 'I don't know exactly how valuable the nightmare points are; however, judging from how the system will reward with only 100 nightmare points, I can do a lot with those points.'
For now, Ajax only knows what he could do with the nightmare points; however, he still doesn't know how much he could buy with 100 nightmare points.
However, those 100 nightmare points gave him the strength to stand up on his two feet.
'I can do it. I just need to grab that sword.'
When he said that he could do it, Ajax didn't mean he could kill it. His goal was to swing his sword at the cat when it jumped at him.
'As for whether I can kill it or not, I only have one way to know it.'
Ajax gritted his teeth and tightened the grip around the sword handle.

Seeing its prey wield a sword, the forest cat became more aggressive and rushed at him.
"Die."
Ajax was ready for this moment and mustering all his strength, he slashed his sword at the incoming rank 3 forest cat.

However, the forest cat was much faster than his slashing and dodged it without breaking a sweat.

The forest cat's entire body fell on Ajax as it started clawing his chest.

Ajax tried to grab the forest cat; however, it was agile and dodge his hand before leaving another two long claw marks on his body.
'I am already bleeding to death and now there are more injuries and more blood.'
Feeling the pain from the injuries, Ajax wanted to give up and just die to get free from the pain.
'What's more, this damn beast is drinking my blood and eating me while I am still alive.'
Ajax was witnessing and experiencing the things that he thought he would never experience in his life and it was all thanks to the 'Nightmare World'.
That's right! The rank 3 barbaric beast was clawing Ajax and drinking his body and eating the small chunks of flesh, making Ajax experience a Nightmare World.
'Wait a second, if I am going to die, then why don't I bring it with you?'
Suddenly, Ajax got a bold idea in his head.
With the current state his body is in, there is no way he could survive for more than five minutes.
'With this plan, I am 100 percent sure I can kill this beast; however, I hope I can buy a good starting point or at least one of my real-life abilities for my next nightmare world.'
While lying on the ground, Ajax slowly put his hand on a small cloth that was hanging around his waist.
It was his herb collection bag and from the outside appearance, one could tell it was fully filled with the herbs.
'Aargh…damn it. Just wait for a few seconds.'
While he was trying to execute his plan, the rank 3 forest cat continued to strike Ajax's chest and licked his blood before jumping away to avoid Ajax's other hand.
'Meow'
After dodging Ajax's other hand, the rank 3 forest cat licked its paws and ate the bits of meat stuck in its claws while looking at Ajax with a human-like smile.
'This little beast….if I am not injured, I would have thought of a better plan to kill you; however, I think it is not a bad thing to kill you with the current method.'
Soon, he found a purple-coloured flower in his bag which he crushed without any hesitation and rubbed on his injuries.
"Munch"
After applying the juices from the flower to his injuries, Ajax swallowed the pulp and said to the cat, "No matter how much you drink my blood, you can't kill me."
Ajax scoffed at the cat before saying, "Now, I will take some rest."
After saying that, he closed his eyes and hoped, 'I hope it takes the bait.'
What Ajax consumed just now was a poisonous leaf flower and the most valuable ingredient that he found during this trip to the Blackmoon forest.
When he found the poisonous leaf flower, Vunn was excited; however, never in his wildest dreams, Vunn expected that he would be eating it.
'Other than poisoning myself, there is no way I could kill the rank 3 barbaric forest cat in my current state.'
Ajax was not regretting his decision to eat the rank 4 poisonous leaf flower; instead, he was hoping the rank 3 barbaric forest cat to drink his blood and eat his flesh while he still have consciousness.
'I don't know whether the system would count if I kill it after I die. So, it is better to stay conscious and witness its death.'
What Ajax was hoping for was not an impossible feat because the properties of the poisonous leaf flower would act at a different rate for different beings.

Effect: It can even poison everyone with the strength of rank 4 or below ranked beings.
Note: The poison from this herb acts faster for the rank 4 beings compared to the rank 1. The stronger the consumer, the faster the poison acts.
Ajax was completely relying on that 'Note'; however, the problem is, that he had already lost so much blood.
Moreover, he even started to lose consciousness, making him a little anxious.

The forest cat looked at the young barbarian in front of it and frowned for a moment.

Nevertheless, maybe it found Vunn's blood tasty, or it was too hungry, it didn't hesitate to jump onto Vunn and started feasting on it.

Even though Ajax had experienced various kinds of pains in his life, whatever he was feeling was on a completely different level.
Maybe it was because he didn't have enough strength which magnified the pain by a few more levels.

Nevertheless, Ajax continued to endure the pain with his eyes closed and completely allowed the forest cat to eat them.
Time continued to pass and a couple of minutes passed by.
'This cat is so cunning that it was not clawing my critical parts and trying to keep me alive.'
Ajax thought he would lose his consciousness and die already; however, the forest cat didn't let him die as it didn't claw too deep or strike his critical parts.

The host has successfully completed the side quest 'Kill the rank 3 forest cat'.

The host is rewarded with one of the forest cat's skills.
'Ding,
The host awakened the skill 'Wild healing', which can heal minor and medium injuries.
After who knows how long, just when Ajax was losing his consciousness, he received a series of system notifications that acted like an alarm and woke him up.
'What? Did I kill it? Excellent.'
Ajax opened his eyes with great effort and saw the forest cat lying on the ground beside him with its stomach facing up.

Nevertheless, just as he became happy to see the corpse of the forest cat, Ajax also died along with it.
