Chapter 74:
"Three nuclear missiles?"
After hearing Stark's statement, Fang Mo was momentarily stunned.
It seemed that these members of Congress were truly ruthless. In the original work, two nuclear missiles weren't enough; they had actually prepared a backup plan. Fortunately, Nick Fury had some brains and remained vigilant about this matter after being reminded by Fang Mo, managing to intercept them without any danger.
Otherwise, Fang Mo might have really had to find a way to level Washington, D.C.
Though it was just a movie and not directly related to reality, these congressmen were all of the same kindbald, stupid, and drunk on power. They always prioritized saving themselves by any means necessary.
"So, can we close the portal now?" Stark asked Fang Mo after digesting the information about the nuclear bomb.
"I didn't know Nick Fury was this smart," Fang Mo shrugged. "But before we close the portal, I still have one thing to do. Otherwise, even if we close the portal, it will be useless."
"What is it?" Stark asked.
"Dealing with the alien mothership," Fang Mo pointed to the nearby portal. "Do you see the portal over there? On the other side is a Chitauri mothership, even larger than some Mass Effect ships. To deal with those soldiers, we need to blow up the mothership."
"Even larger than what?" Stark was taken aback. "How do we attack it then?"
"Originally, I was thinking of having you carry the nuclear bomb inside to blow it up," Fang Mo said. "But I feel that's a bit insane, and it's also likely to cause you to suffer from war-induced post-traumatic stress disorder or something. So, I think it's better if I handle it."
"So you're gonna carry the nuclear bomb?" Stark asked, a bit confused. Updated from novelb(i)n.c(o)m
"No," Fang Mo revealed a terrifying smile. "I am the nuclear bomb."
"Isn't that very dangerous?" Stark looked at Fang Mo and couldn't help but say, "Both Thor and I can fly. Shouldn't we go with you?"
"Don't worry," Fang Mo patted Stark's shoulder with a smile. "You..."
However, before Fang Mo could finish his sentence, a sudden system prompt sounded.
[System prompt: You have acquired the download permission for a new module, having obtained knowledge of the 'Destroyer' and 'Iron Armor' structures.]
[System prompt: Downloading the Tinker' Construct Armor.]
"Oh, so this module was on you?" Fang Mo's expression suddenly became astonished upon hearing the system prompt. "I never expected that this myth and technology combination was the unlocking condition for the module..."
In less than half a minute, a flash of black light, and Fang Mo appeared in front of the two.
"It seems like you've got it done."
Seeing Fang Mo appear, Stark couldn't help but exhale, "Thank goodness. Both my armor and I were running out of energy. Let's go eat something later. I remember there's a Turkish barbecue restaurant a few blocks away. My treat."
"Fang Mo, deactivate this device."
Thor also spoke from the side, "It's time to end this war."
Fang Mo didn't say anything but nodded and took out the Scepter from behind. He inserted it into the center of the teleportation device, and soon the Tesseract stopped its activation, and the portal in mid-air slowly closed.
And it was at this moment that a system prompt sounded in Fang Mo's mind once again.
