Chapter 348: I will help you reach your dream

Chapter 348: I will help you reach your dream

The person who arrived seemed somewhat peculiar.

He was a man probably in his mid-years, with an indifferent expression on his face, holding a liquor flask, and emanating an aura of decadence and numbness.

However, the problem was that he looked too much like an Uncle. Whether it was his hairstyle or facial structure, and especially the scar on the left cheek, even though he appeared run-down, it was hard to take him lightly. It seemed like his true capabilities were hidden beneath this disguise.

Fang Mo recognized this guy.

He seemed to be called Kishibe, reportedly the world's most powerful Devil hunter.

"Hey, isn't that Kishibe?"

After recalling a bit of the story, Fang Mo smiled and waved at him: "Come in, have a seat. Ah Xue, get him a pair of slippers."

"Yes, Master."

Ah Xue obediently nodded, then took out a new pair of slippers from the shoe cabinet: "Please come in, guest."

Kishibe first observed Ah Xue, then nodded, changed into the slippers, and walked in, sitting directly opposite Fang Mo on the sofa.

"Fang Mo, the man who claims to be the 'Happy Devil.'"

Sitting on the sofa, Kishibe took a small sip of his drink and then calmly started speaking: "I did some research on you, but found no relevant information, not even rumors in hell... as if you just appeared out of nowhere."

"I didn't expect you to even investigate hell."

Fang Mo smiled: "You have quite an extensive information network. Is it because you failed in pursuing a woman, so you focused all your energy on your career?"

"You seem to know a lot about me."

Kishibe glanced at Fang Mo, not appearing too surprised: "I guess we're not friends yet, so... did you find out about me through Quanxi?"

"Sorry, I'm not fond of that Sea Emperor Quanxi."

Fang Mo shook his head: "I like women, but not the ones who can upstage mine, so I don't have much to do with her, nor do I want to bother with her, unless she's seeking to NTR me..."

"It seems you really do know a lot."

Kishibe looked at Fang Mo with some surprise, acknowledging that what he said was indeed secretive: "So what exactly are you? Human? Or something else?"

"I am the 'Happy Devil'..."

"Your claim might deceive Hayakawa Aki, but not me."

Kishibe shook his head: "Not to mention whether there really is a 'Happy Devil' in this world, but you are definitely not a Devil, that much is clear to me. The agreement you made with Hayakawa Aki wasn't a contract... it was just a verbal agreement, right?"

"So I ask you, what is a Devil?"

Fang Mo asked with a smile.

"Do you want to play a word game?" Kishibe asked, "It seems like you place great importance on the identity of a Devil, why? Does this benefit you in any way?"

"Um"

Fang Mo lowered his head and pondered for a moment: "Does finding amusement count?"

"What do you mean by amusement?" Kishibe asked, "Is it just about teasing people? Like what you did to Hayakawa Aki? Is this your idea of a twisted happiness?"

"There are many kinds of amusement."

Kishibe slowly said, "You seem to have a disdainful attitude towards our world, yet you hold yourself in high regard. Normally speaking... if you looked down on Earth, you wouldn't voluntarily come here, just as humans wouldn't willingly enter a pigsty. So, there must be something on Earth that attracts you."

"Oh, that's indeed true."

Fang Mo didn't hide much but nodded directly. "There are indeed many interesting things here, otherwise I wouldn't have come."

"By interesting, you mean"

Kishibe, he asked.

"Of course, I'm here to have fun," Fang Mo laughed. "Otherwise, why would I come here? To play house with you fighting Devils? Or to watch your dirty political games?"

"Alright then."

The man Kishibe nodded and then took another sip from his flask. "So, one last question. Humans and Devils... which side are you really on?"

"Whichever side makes me happy, that's the side I'll choose."

Fang Mo smiled and spread his arms wide: "That's my attitude, so try to please me, mortal."

"Understood."

The man Kishibe put away his flask, no longer intending to communicate further with Fang Mo. His purpose for this visit wasn't to persuade or recruit Fang Mo, but merely to understand his stance, which was now clear.

"Are you leaving?"

Fang Mo glanced at the man Kishibe: "Don't you want to make a contract with me or something?"

"That was just a verbal agreement, not a contract."

The man Kishibe spoke calmly.

"It's more or less the same thing," Fang Mo said with a smile. "I'm a man of my word, and a verbal agreement from me is as good as a contract, isn't it?"

"What kind of agreement do you want to make with me?"

The man Kishibe looked at Fang Mo, not really intending to make a contract, just curious about his purpose.

"Your personality and identity suddenly remind me of an old friend," Fang Mo said with a bit of malicious glee. "That guy was also very serious at first, but I eventually changed his style. Now, I really want to see you frustrated and upset, so I'm quite tempted to torment you a bit."

"What would I gain from this?"

The man Kishibe asked.

"I'll help you fulfill one wish," Fang Mo pondered before replying. "Whether it's to destroy the world, make someone fall in love with you, or gain money, wealth... the conditions are up to you."

"What if I want you to help me kill someone?"

The man Kishibe asked after some thought.

"Is it Makima?" Fang Mo looked at him, then laughed. "Okay, the contract is made. Once she's of no use, I'll go and kill her. But let me warn you in advance... don't regret it later."

"What do you mean?"

The man Kishibe didn't understand the implication in Fang Mo's words.

"As you might have guessed, Makima is actually a Devil... and your clever cabinet minister has made a little contract with her," Fang Mo said with a smile, revealing a chilling fact.

"All harm intended for Makima will transfer in the form of disease or accidents to other people of Japan. In other words, she has over a hundred million lives. Normally, no one would be able to deal with her, but you're very lucky to have met me"
