Chapter 36 The Red Head (IV)

"Kill them!" The order was given, and dozens of gangsters attacked simultaneously. Klaus simply waved his hand, and suddenly they screamed and collapsed instantly.

"Ugh--"

"Kaaarg!"

"Keugh!"

The gangsters were stunned, seeing their comrade curled up in pain on the floor. They did not know what had happened.

"Morons! He used a projectile!" exclaimed Mavis from behind.

Klaus threw four metal spheres before they could react. They surrounded Klaus and Sylvia at high speed, slamming into anyone who tried to get close.

He added [Speed Up] to the spheres, and their small size made them difficult for the gangsters to see them with the naked eye. Only B-Class awakeners and above were able to see them.

The gangsters hesitated to step forward, though they already knew Klaus' weapons. Of course, it did not last long.

The air temperature in the room suddenly felt hot as several gangsters unleashed fire and light in their hands. Iron objects floated in the air, ready to stab their targets.

"Hiaaah!"

As a gangster's screech echoed out, irons shot towards Klaus and Sylvia. What followed next was a blast of hot fire and blinding light engulfing the entire room.

For a split second, Klaus saw everything, but he did nothing.

When the deadly attack was about to engulf Klaus and Sylvia, suddenly everything stopped. Bursts of fire, sparkles of light, thunder strikes, and iron pipes floated in the air. Even the gangsters were motionless like a mime.

"Keaaaah!" Sylvia shouted, her body enveloped by a green aura. She was rewinding time.

Klaus smiled. He let dozens of the enemy's successive attacks strike the two of them simultaneously, and he wanted to see how far Sylvia would go with her talent.

Slowly, everything returned to where it came from.

"I can't hold out any longer!" Sylvia fell to her knees as the mana wrapped around her body vanished, while the gangsters looked confused.

On that small occasion, Klaus controlled the iron weapons in the gangsters' hands, and then the weapons attacked their owners.

"Arrrggghhh!"

The gangsters had no time to react due to the shock after experiencing the time rewind. They had to taste their own weapons. Those who used blunt weapons were lucky, only feeling solid blows, while those who used sharp weapons had to be impaled or torn apart, with their bodies covered in blood.

Klaus didn't stop there. He threw metal spheres, and they hit the gangsters who were still standing.

"Aarrrgg!"

They fell like leaves falling from a tree.

"Idiots! There are only two people!" Mavis was burning with rage.

The gang leader called his men again, and dozens of other Black Bulls gangsters filled the room. They looked shocked to see their comrades fall to just two people.

"I'll take them on, and you beat that guy up. You can do it, right?" While controlling the metal spheres, Klaus asked Sylvia.

The redheaded woman was still kneeling on the floor, her body sweating after exerting over half of the mana in her body to use [Time Rewind]. Sylvia was a fighter, after all. The mana capacity in her body realm was small.

Nevertheless, she was still able to stand up.

"Yeah," Sylvia replied firmly. "I want to kick that bastard's ass, too."

"Good."

Lunging with fury and exasperation, Sylvia broke through the enemy lines, beating up anyone who got in her way.

Papapa! Jab shot out and knocked down four men.

Pow! Pow! Pow! Three men fell after they received a blow to the navel.

Bam! Sylvia kicked three people at once.

"Go, Sylvee! Beat them up!" Her brother, Kevin, watched his sister's prowess in amazement. He cheered her on as she beat up dozens of awakeners by herself.

Sylvia may have had a low mana capacity, but she had strong physical strength, even above the average of the awakeners in the room.

After getting rid of the small fries, Sylvia confronted the gang leader.

"Bring it on, you jerk! I'll make you kiss your own ass!" Sylvia taunted.

Mavis spat. "Bitch! Just because you beat up my dumbass men, you think you can beat me, huh?!"

Darting forward, Mavis attacked and launched dozens of jabs at her. Although Mavis did not look like a fighter, he was able to deliver fast and accurate punches, each aimed at a vital point.

"Hahaha! Is this all you've got, woman?!" taunted Mavis.

Sylvia was surprised as she withstood dozens of his attacks. She was outmatched in skill and physical strength. Occasionally dodging, occasionally defending, there was not much Sylvia could do.

She would lose if the situation didn't change.

"I have to wait for a chance," Sylvia muttered.

Dodging and defending, Sylvia patiently waited for Mavis to let his guard down. She followed the flow of incoming punches. A few times she received solid blows, but she could only grit her teeth.

"This is it!"

After Sylvia dodged a hook from Mavis, she let out a blinding light from her hand, and Mavis looked away instantly. Sylvia opened her eyes wide as she saw a chance, and then she launched a flurry of punches.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

As she was busy throwing punches, there was a sudden sound of bones breaking.

"Arrrggghhh!"

Sylvia screamed in pain after hitting Mavis' navel. She held her fractured hand and stepped back.

On the other side, Mavis was smirking.

"How does it feel? It hurts," he taunted.

The dapper man glistened as the light hit him. Mavis had the [Hardening] talent, which allowed his body to turn as hard as diamond.

"It's my turn now!"

Mavis shot out and blindly attacked Sylvia. The red-haired woman could only grit her teeth as each blow that landed on her body, creating bruises and broken bones.

"Sylvee!" Kevin screamed, tears streaming down his face, unable to watch his older sister being brutalized.

Meanwhile, Mavis was laughing loudly, enjoying torturing the woman. "HAHAHAHA!"

Sylvia was no longer able to stand. Blood began to cloud her vision and her legs began to weaken. She could only retreat and retreat until she lost her balance.

"Die!"

A diamond fist only a few centimeters away from her face, she closed her eyes immediately. One blow to the head was enough to kill her.

Just as Sylvia thought it was over, the touch of a gentle hand propped her upright. She opened her eyes.

Klaus blocked Mavis' blow using only a finger.

"Aaaarrgghh!"

Mavis screamed in pain and quickly withdrew his fist. His diamond-skinned hand was cracked and oozing blood.

Looking up, Sylvia saw Klaus, with a look of amazement and wonder at the same time.

"You need to work on your skills some more. But overall, it's not bad," Klaus smiled sincerely.

Sylvia returned it with a weak smile, and then she closed her eyes.

Klaus waved a hand, and the dense wind cut the ropes binding Kevin. He told the boy to look after Sylvia.

"Take your sister out of here. Head south. You'll see a black sedan when you get outside the alley. Tell the pretty lady there to take you and your sister away. Understood?"

Kevin nodded, and before leaving the room, he said, "Thanks, bro. I'll say nice things about you to my sister."

Klaus sighed and chuckled a little.

His attention was drawn back to Mavis, the dapper man who was still holding his bleeding hand, enduring the pain.

"Asshole! How dare you do this to me!" Mavis exclaimed.

Klaus raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Well, you still have guts. I've already killed your men in this building."

Looking around him, Mavis trembled.

None of his men moved, not even a sound. They just lay there without exhaling. The gangsters in the hallway were the same.

When Sylvia and Mavis fought, in that short time, Klaus had killed all the gangsters in the building. Thanks to the magic called [Death Curse], Klaus could kill living beings with just a thought. Of course, only low-life creatures or weak individuals could be killed by this magic.

"How dare you! They're going to kill you, asshole!" Mavis cursed.

Klaus ignored him and walked over, each step leaving a trail of fear. The dapper man instinctively walked backwards as Klaus drew closer.

"Go away! Go away, you bastard! I'm the leader of the Black Bulls, and I'm under the direct protection of Morning Star! They won't sit still if I die!" Mavis continued to ramble, though his voice trembled in fear.

The dapper man fell, and his back hit the wall. There was no way behind him, while Klaus stood before him.

Klaus crouched down. "You can still talk big in a situation like this. I don't know if you're stupid or overconfident that you'll survive."

Swallowing, Mavis said, "Y... you can't kill me. They won't be happy if I die. I'm in charge of guarding their arcana. Morning Star will find you and kill you. You think you can escape..."

"You're funny," Klaus interrupted, grinning devilishly. "You think I'm afraid of them? You think they can protect you now? Don't be stupid. Today, you died in the saddest way possible."

"Keeegu--"

Klaus put his hand on Mavis's cheek.

"Laplace, show him how this man dies in the future," Klaus muttered.

<There are 7545 variations of death, and 10 variations of possible death in the near future, and 1 certain death in a few hours. Which should I show him, my liege?>

"All of them."

A mist-like fire came out of the pendant and traveled to Klaus's hand, and then it entered Mavis's head through his ear. The man became hysterical instantly, crying and screaming for a couple of minutes.

As Klaus took his hand off him, Mavis stopped screaming. The man was trembling, his eyes were blank, and saliva flowed out of his mouth.

Mavis was alive, but his mind was broken.
