Chapter 64 Products War (IV)

Walking at a brisk pace, Klaus rushed to meet Alexa. Several security guards confronted him when Klaus arrived at the backstage entrance. He briefly argued with them, but Terry Owen came and broke them up.

"I'm from Mors Industries. Where is she?" Klaus asked indignantly.

"She's in the staff room. We don't know what happened to her; she collapsed and was in pain. We've called the hospital."

"What?"

His anger disappeared as Klaus heard about Alexa's condition.

He asked Terry to show him where Alexa was, and the flamboyant man led him out and down the corridor. After a few turns, they entered a room labeled "Staff Only".

As Klaus was on the doorway, he saw Alexa lying on a sofa. Two female staff members were tending to her. He immediately drew close to Alexa and checked her condition. She was trembling despite the blanket wrapped around her body.

Klaus touched her pale face, and his fingers felt the cold temperature from the surface of her skin.

"She doesn't have a fever?" he wondered to himself.

He held her wrist. When Klaus was about to check her pulse, he saw black streaks on the skin's surface. De Javu came to mind.

Klaus touched Alexa's abdomen, his palm glowing as mana flowed into his hand. Klaus was chanting [Cure] to restore her condition.

However, Alexa was not getting better. Usually, [Cure] was effective enough to restore the injured, even if it was a severe internal wound.

The two staff behind Klaus looked worried as they saw him unable to heal Alexa. The same could be seen with Terry. That man was the most upset among all the people in this room. He was the host, after all.

"Oh, you're a healer, apparently. How is her condition? She's fine, right?" Terry covered his mouth with his hand.

Klaus shook his head. "[Cure] didn't work on her."

Terry frowned. "What? How is that possible?"

Klaus had only one conclusion if her condition did not improve even with magic. "She was poisoned," he replied.

At the same time, Klaus opened his eyes wide, remembering when he visited Michael in the hospital.

Silence fell over the room. Jonathan and Sheila came in with sweating and irregular breathing. They gasped as they saw Alexa lying on the sofa.

Sheila wanted to ask about Alexa's condition but decided against it after seeing Klaus in a bad mood.

"Is this the same toxin that poisoned Michael?" Klaus spoke to Laplace through his mind.

<Yes, my liege. The poison has spread to half of her body. The woman is not an awakener; there is not much time left for her.>

"How much time does she have?"

<I looked into the future, there are three thousand possibilities of her death in this room, but the soonest is 10 minutes.>

Naturally, Klaus clicked his tongue.

The most effective way was to use [Time Rewind] to restore Alexa's condition to normal. But he didn't have much time to bring Sylvia in before the poison killed Alexa.

Klaus was a Death Bringer. He didn't know much magic about protection and treatment. Most of the magic he learned in his previous life was killing and destroying.

However, that didn't mean Klaus couldn't save her.

Standing up, Klaus asked everyone in the room to leave except Sheila.

"Are you sure? The medics will be here soon." Terry looked worried.

"It's okay. It's not that I don't respect you, but I need some space with my woman." Klaus lied so that Terry would believe him and leave immediately.

The flamboyant man nodded his head while opening his mouth. Terry took the lie. "Well, you can tell me or the staff if you need anything. We'll help you the best we can."

Meanwhile, Jonathan and Sheila were surprised but chose to keep quiet. They also thought that Alexa and Klaus were a couple.

Klaus smiled. "Thank you for your help. But you're having a big event. You should focus on that."

Then, everyone left the room except Klaus, Sheila, and Alexa.

Klaus stretched his arms.

"Sheila, I want you to guard the door. Don't let anyone in, no matter what," Klaus ordered.

The woman nodded. She then stood in front of the door.

Rubbing his hands together, Klaus was ready to start saving Alexa. The air in the room suddenly became cold as a dark aura emerged on Klaus' body. Sheila suddenly got goosebumps at the sight.

That pitch-black energy that exuded horror, [Dark Force], enveloped both of his hands. He then touched Alexa on the head and stomach. The woman whimpered in pain as the [Dark Force] entered her body.

The longer it took, the whimpering turned into screaming. Her screams echoed throughout the room. Sheila spontaneously covered her gaping mouth. Klaus continued to channel the dark energy even as Alexa screamed in pain.

Klaus was using the [Dark Force] to terminate the poison in her body. This magic had uniqueness, devouring anything until nothingness remained. It could even drive a person insane, as it could swallow sanity.

What Klaus was doing was very dangerous. If he failed to concentrate and lost control, Alexa would die in seconds, considering the woman was not an awakener.

"Is there still poison in her?" Klaus asked Laplace.

<On the left arm, the tip of the big toe, and the waist.>

Klaus channeled [Dark Force] at the poisons locations as directed by Laplace. He broke out in a cold sweat. His hands were shaking, and his breathing was getting heavy. He drained a lot of mana to maintain the dark aura from out of control.

Sheila was dumbfounded at the sight. Now she understood why her boss could wipe out the gangster headquarters alone. The power Klaus possessed was beyond her imagination.

<My Liege, there is no longer any poison in that woman's body.>

Klaus quickly withdrew [Dark Force] from Alexa. The woman soon calmed down, and her face regained color. Sighing, Klaus was relieved to have saved his CEO and mentor.

"This is the first time I've drained a quarter of my mana to limit my power. Damn it," he thought.

Sheila quickly approached Klaus when he dropped his body to the floor.

Seeing his secretary make a worried face, Klaus told her he was fine.

"Don't tell anyone about this."

Sheila nodded. "I understand."

Just as Klaus was about to close his eyes to rest, he remembered that Mors Industries needed a representative to present their new product.
