Chapter 121 A Castle In A Blanket Of Mist (IV)

Strange. That was the first word that came to their minds when they saw that man. His face showed no expression, only a bored gaze and thin, flat lips. His waist-length black hair waved in the wind.

The awakeners were still stunned. A wyvern that could have killed them that night died in a single attack. In fact, they had to risk their lives just to weaken thr wyvern.

Without saying any words, the pigtailed man took out a flare gun from his pocket and fired it upwards, and a red light shone brightly in the sky above.

Naturally, his action made the people around him gasp. The roaming monsters could have seen the flare and invited them to come here. They needed to take a breath and rest before the next battle.

"What are you doing? You can summon another wyvern!" Joanna shouted in an annoyed tone.

"That's not going to happen. I've already killed the monsters around here. These two monsters are all that's left. That flare was just to summon my friends!"

"What did you say?" Joanna squinted, unable to believe what she had just heard.

Before anything untoward happened, Sylvia tapped Joanna on the shoulder, stopping her from talking on. The pigtailed man killed the wyvern in one fell swoop. If he said he killed all the monsters around here, she wouldn't doubt his words. Everyone would think so.

Including Klaus.

"Thank you for helping us. If I may know, which guild are you from?"

The pigtailed man raised his eyebrows. "Have you forgotten me? We met in front of the Manhattan Branch of the Awakener Association."

Klaus frowned. The expression on his face said he didn't remember who the man was. Then, Justin elbowed Klaus.

Whispering, Justin said, "He's your cousin's man, Noah Liebert. Remember?"

"Ah, it's you!"

Klaus remembered who he was. The pigtailed man was Gavin Schneider.

Gavin Schneider was an S-Class from Germany and had changed his nationality after joining the Sons of Thor. This man has had an incredible run throughout his career as an awakener.

He was very low profile but had many achievements in conquering many dungeons. News of his partnership with Noah boomed for a few weeks. But after that, her name rarely appeared in the media. Only Noah appeared most often.

"Sorry, if I forgot you earlier." There was no tone of regret at all when Klaus said it. He was just making small talk. "Are the other members here too?" Klaus asked

"Yeah. We're building a camp around here. Come with me."

Klaus nodded. He thought that Vincent and the others had not yet reached the castle on the mountain. Unexpectedly they still delayed and made more camps.

While waiting for Gavin's friends to arrive, Klaus had his men scavenge the wyverns' bodies, taking monster cores and some of their organs. And some of the wounded awakeners got treatment from Joanna.

Klaus also didn't forget to give Gavin some spoils. This guy landed the final blow and killed the second wyvern after all. He deserved it.

After they finished, four awakeners with the same appearance as Gavin came. They didn't seem surprised to see two wyvern corpses lying there, as if they were used to seeing them.

These people spoke briefly to Klaus, and he told them the situation and how it came to encounter those monsters. They just nodded their heads in response.

"All right. Come with us. We will take you to the camp."

Klaus and his men followed where the Sons of Thor brought them. They passed through the same terrain, the ground full of gray stones and a thin mist floating in the air. The only thing different was seeing the corpses of monsters scattered at some point.

Without Klaus asked, the people of the Sons of Thor proudly said they made them into a pile of corpses. He just nodded his head, not caring about their works, but some of his men were just the opposite. Joanna couldn't help but hiss the whole way.

After walking for about 4 hours, they arrived at the camp. Large tents stood and torches with orange light were at several points. Looking at the number of tents and people on guard, they were too few for 3000 people.

"Your men can rest. But you're coming with us. You need to talk."

"I'm coming."

Gavin asked Klaus to meet with the leader, and Justin wanted to come with him. The guild master was worried about Klaus, considering how his cousin was. But they didn't allow it.

"It's okay, Justin. You better get some rest. I'm fine coming alone."

Klaus gave him a reassuring look, and Justin nodded his head. They then went their separate ways. Klaus left with Gavin while his men were escorted by two other Sons of Thor members.

Gavin led Klaus to a tent with two guards at the entrance. He stopped to take Klaus there, and told him to enter alone.

As Klaus entered the room, the sweet scent of wine and cigarette smoke hit his nose. The bright lights hanging from the tent were sparingly bright, dazzling his eyes that had not yet seen the light.

In front of Klaus was a man slumped on a sofa drinking a glass of wine. Fresh fruit and bottles of alcohol were laid out on the table. Beautiful ornaments and luxurious furniture filled the room. This small room was hard to be called a tent. It was more likely a one room apartment.

And the person living in this tent was his cousin, Noah Liebert.

The man grinned as he looked at Klaus with a mocking gaze. His hands twirled the glass and his lips were pulled up to his ears, revealing white teeth with bits of food between them.

"Klaus! My cousin! How are you? I've been looking for you all this time. Afraid you'd suddenly die, hahah!"

As usual, Noah threw insults in Klaus' face. And of course, this didn't faze Klaus. He remained calm. Besides, he knew that Noah was drunk.

Klaus spread his arms, as if he wanted to hug him. "Of course not. The blood of the Lee Bloodline runs through my veins. I will not die easily."

"Hehe. You're still the same as before. Always fun. Have a seat."

After being invited, Klaus sat down at the table. Noah poured wine into Klaus' glass and started talking about unimportant things. Of course, Klaus didn't care, but he still had to listen.

Noah talked endlessly and didn't give Klaus a chance to speak. Mostly about his father or his ruined boxing career. And Klaus waited for the right time to speak.

8 bottles later, the man collapsed instantly. Seeing that the man was in a vulnerable state, Klaus immediately launched into action.

"So, where's the other ones? Why don't I see them? There's only you here."

Noah chuckled. "They left. Those assholes left me in this shit hole to die." His face was flushed in anger and he squeezed the glass very tightly.

At that moment Klaus knew something was bothering Noah.

CREAK!

The cousin slammed the glass.

"Those bastards... They use me as they wnat to. Bastards!"

Klaus raised his eyebrows. It seemed like something interesting had happened to his cousin while he was away.

He poured alcohol into Noah's glass. "Well, it looks like you need someone to listen your problem. I'm all ears."

Noah then told him.

While exploring the dungeon, the group of awakeners led by Vincent encountered many monsters. Drakes and wyverns constantly attacked them, and they were able to overcome them easily.

However, it couldn't last long. The frequency of encountering monsters was very frequent. Almost every two hours they fought against these dungeon-dwelling creatures. As a result, the awakeners used mana more often and the consumption of [Ether] or [Potion] became excessive. If the situation didn't change, the supply could run out before they met the alpha.

And then, the Guild Master of Sunstrike came up with the idea to break up the group. It was extremely dangerous and caused their combat power to decrease. Moreover, they couldn't use communication tools in this dungeon for some reasons. But ironically, the Raid Leader, Vincent Thomsen, liked the idea.

The group was divided into two. The primary group was led by Vincent and the secondary group was led by Noah. They moved separately. While the primary group explored the dungeon, Vincent told Noah to kill the monsters around.

Of course, Noah refused it. He knew that he was being left behind to lessen the burden but Vincent pressured him. In the end, Noah couldn't help but accept.

The man did as he was asked, albeit reluctantly. While exterminating the monsters, he set up a camp and waited for them to return.

During that time, many of his men died because the people Vincent left behind were weak awakeners. Noah didn't care about them, he was more worried about how long this would last. They knew the longer they were here, the more likely they would die.

"Vincent, that jerk, he played me just because I made a mistake back then."

Klaus could read in Noah that this man really seemed desperate. He felt sorry for him and wanted to laugh at the same time.

Suddenly, an idea crossed his mind.

"Hey, do you hate them now?" Klaus asked.

"Yeah, I really want to kill them. Especially that asshole Hugo. That bastard... I get sick every time I see his face."

"I have an interesting idea. Do you want to hear it?"

"What idea?"

Klaus didn't answer, just flashed a grin at Noah, making his cousin twist his face in curiosity.
