Chapter 146 Black Christmas (V)

All the guests managed to leave the ballroom, but the appearance of the white-masked woman only heightened the tension. The terrorists, who were initially cornered, now rose and put up a resistance. On the other side, the guards began to clench their teeth.

The mysterious woman altered the tides of the battle.

"Attack that woman!"

The guards swiftly charged, following Luis's command echoing throughout the ballroom. They wasted no time, unleashing their full power. Some manipulated elements, conjuring fireballs from their hands or controlling metal objects around the room, while others utilized their talents, growing in size or becoming invisible. After witnessing how the mysterious woman easily threw Akio, an A-Class awakener, they knew she was a formidable opponent.

However, the mysterious woman showed no signs of fear; instead, she grinned behind her mask. She simply stood her ground, waiting for her enemies to come.

Swoosh! A guard spewed out a breath of fire.

Ssshhh! Sassshh! Several guards hurled lightning bolts.

Boom! Boom! Boom! A caster threw a bomb of wind.

Powerful explosions and flashes of light filled the room. The guards held nothing back, launching a barrage of attacks with massive damage aimed at the mysterious woman, leaving the terrorists astonished.

At the same time, Olivia accompanied Joanna in tending to their two injured friends. Michael seemed okay, but Akio winced in pain, clutching his chest. Joanna tried to ease his suffering with a green glow from her hand. Given the sudden situation, none of them carried any potions, so they had to rely on Joanna's healing abilities.

"There's something strange about that woman. We need to finish her off quickly," Akio groaned in pain. He tried to rise but quickly slumped back down from the ache in his back.

"Don't move, idiot," scolded Joanna.

Justin kneeled beside Akio, holding his shoulder and saying, "Take it easy. You're still hurt. Let Joanna heal you first."

"He's right," added Olivia. "We're not alone. There are security personnel on our side. They're not just ordinary awakeners. Most of them are first-generation awakeners. You don't need to worry."

Akio shook his head as he cried out in pain. "You're wrong. They won't be enough. She tossed me aside with just a glance."

Olivia frowned. "You mean, she's like me, possessing the [Psychokinesis] talent?"

"No. It's something else. The woman seems to exert no effort at all. She does it like nothing, like breathing. Ah, shit, it's hard to explain." Akio glanced at Michael. "You felt it too, didn't you, Mike?"

Olivia turned to the burly man before them. He seemed to agree with Akio but couldn't put it into words.

Amidst their conversation, they suddenly shuddered. Their gazes were drawn to the battleground.

The white-masked woman emerged from the raging flames in the middle of the hall. The guards couldn't help but be astonished. They were truly shocked. Their previous attacks could have killed an alpha, but the woman didn't seem to have a scratch.

Naturally, the guards swallowed nervously. Even Luis, the head of security with extensive battle experience, couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"Who is she really?" muttered Luis.

The woman snapped her fingers, and the raging fire behind her vanished instantly.

"Are you satisfied with your attacks on me? Now, it's my turn."

As she stretched both her arms, several guards suddenly levitated.

"What's happening?!"

"My body!"

"Damn it! I can't control it!"

The more they struggled, the farther their bodies moved from the ground. It was as if an invisible hand was lifting them. The other guards could only watch them with twisted faces, bewildered.

Meanwhile, Luis felt a sense of dread and quickly threw fireballs at the white-masked woman. But they disappeared into thin air before reaching her.

Click!

She snapped her fingers, and the levitating guards exploded.

Splat! Splat! Splat!

Blood splattered across the room along with organs and fleshes. The guards were stunned, witnessing the gruesome deaths of their comrades.

"What? This can't be real..."

"She's exploding humans?"

"Evan... Jack..."

They were utterly shocked. People they had known for a long time died in a horrific way. Everything happened so quickly that they couldn't comprehend it.

At the same time, the white-masked woman grinned behind her mask.

"What are you waiting for? Shoot them!" the white-masked woman commanded her men.????????????????????????????????.????????????

The terrorists quickly aimed their weapons and pulled the triggers.

Tatatatatatatatat!

Gunfire echoed as muzzles spewed thousands of hot lead, accompanied by yellow flashes of light.

"Take cover!" Luis shouted, his temples throbbing.

The guards were still in shock, slow to respond it.

"Arrgggghhh!"

Luis took cover behind a pillar, while his subordinates bore the brunt of the hot lead piercing their bodies. Fortunately, they were awakeners, and ordinary bullets weren't enough to penetrate their flesh and skin. They only suffered bruises but enough to render them incapacitated.

Suddenly, a giant ice wall emerged from the floor, blocking the gunfire. At the same time, tables, debris, chairs, bricks, and various objects in the vicinity floated in the air, hurtling towards the terrorists.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

"Arrggghh!"

The sound of gunfire vanished, replaced by instant screams.

The white-masked woman seemed slightly surprised by the sudden counterattack. She didn't expect any awakeners to have survived.

Suddenly, she felt something coming from above her head.

Bam!

Akio and Michael landed, launching a surprise attack from the air. Unfortunately, they only damaged the floor as the white-masked woman managed to evade in time.I think you should take a look at

But the surprise attacks didn't end there. Ice crystals appeared out of nowhere, chasing after her.

Splash! Splash! Splash!

As the woman leaped backward, Olivia was already behind her with a gleaming katana under the moonlight.

"Take this!"

Swooosh! The wind whistled as Olivia swung her blade, only to slice through empty air.

The masked woman managed to evade all the surprise attacks, but now she was surrounded. In front stood Luis, Akio, and Michael, while Justin and Olivia were behind her.

Amidst the tension, a sinister aura emanated from the white-masked woman. The air became heavy, and they struggled to move their bodies.

At that moment, both Akio and Luis felt the danger.

"Quick, attack her!" they shouted simultaneously.

Akio and Olivia launched a joint attack on the white-masked woman from two different directions. However, before they could land their blows, both of them were repelled as if invisible giant hands slapped them away. Olivia didn't give up easily; she used [Psychokinesis], trying to restrain the white-masked woman, but her hands twisted on its own.

"Aaarrrggg!" Olivia screamed in pain, tears streaming down her face.

"How dare you!" shouted Michael.

The burly man ran towards the lone enemy with intense rage.

Bam! Bam! Bam! Michael unleashed a series of punches, but strangely, his hands moved on their own, striking the floor instead.

"What's happening?!" He was astonished.

"I don't know. Figure it out yourself," the woman taunted.

She then blew at Michael, sending him flying into the air and crashing into a pillar. He was buried in the rubble.

Quietly, Justin created thousands of ice crystals in the shadows as his friends diverted the enemy's attention.

"Oh, so you're the ice caster," the white-masked woman said casually.

"Haaa!"

The ice crystals shot at high speed. But before they could touch her, they disappeared into thin air.

Naturally, Justin was shocked. "What?"

The white-masked woman chuckled. "Fufufu. It seems you didn't learn from the previous fight. How foolish."

Amidst their conversation, a man with flames in both hands appeared behind her.

Woosh! Bam!

Luis threw a fiery punch, shattering the floor. But the enemy managed to dodge.

"I won't let you escape!"

He chased after her and launched a series of punches.

Papapapapa!

Strangely, no matter how hard he tried to reach his opponent, his hands were always pulled back on their own. And then, the fire in his hands went out.

"Surprised, huh?" mocked the white-masked woman. "Feel the pain."

Creak!

"Arrrrrggg!"

Luis screamed in pain, his voice echoing through the dark ballroom. His arms and legs twisted into a spiral.

As she focused on Luis, two men hovered above her head. Akio with his sword and Justin with his ice spear. They were ready to launch a fatal attack.

However, the white-masked woman only sighed. "How predictable. Always repeating the same mistakes."

Creak!

"Arrrrrggg!"

They both fell to the floor, with their legs and arms twisted. "Fuck!" Akio cursed, enduring the pain, while Justin writhed on the floor like a worm.

The white masked woman had defeated them all.

"Ah, looks like there's still one person left."

A golden-haired girl was hiding behind the rubble. She trembled in fear when the masked woman found her.

The woman in the white mask walked up to Joanna. Instead of running away, Joanna pointed a wooden stick at her.

"Don't come any closer!" Joanna shouted, her hands shaking.

"What a bad girl," she muttered.

The white masked woman extended a hand, and Joanna suddenly darted towards the woman.

"Keuughh."

The white masked woman caught Joanna by the neck.

"Now, tell me. Do you know Klaus Lee?"

"You looking for, Klaus? Tchu!" Joanna spat at her. "Fuck! I'd rather die than make my whereabouts known!"

After Joanna said that, the grip of her hand on her neck grew stronger. Her eyeballs bulged, and her face turned red. Joanna could not take a breath.

"Alright, I grant your wish."

CREAK!
