29 True Data Triumvirate

As soon as I wake up, it's right back to the regular routine. I go through several repetitions of my training regimen, before taking a shower and requesting an update, from Ordis.

"Ordis, how goes the campaign? What's the latest from the General?"

"Operator, you'll be happy to hear that Operation Motherland went off without a hitch. We now have complete control over both Mars and Earth. The General is carrying out Operation Gas Mask, as we speak. Saturn should be ours before the days out."

"Excellent, Ordis! With this campaign underway and the Reservoir safe again, I finally feel like some of the pressure I've been experiencing has been lessened. There are a couple of really important events that I'd hate to miss but none of them are as important as what we've already accomplished. I don't want to miss out on them but if I do it won't be anywhere near as disastrous as it would have been if I had failed to secure the Reservoir or something similar. Is there anything else, Ordis?"

"Actually, Operator, I've been thinking about the tasks, concerning the advancement of our technology, that you've given me. I have an idea that I believe will greatly enhance all of our capabilities. I was inspired by the Psuedo-datascape, within the control deck. I believe that, if we were to modify it to not only host all three of us Cephalons but also to provide us with a medium, through which we can unify our various capacities, the three of us together could function as one and thus solve problems at a much quicker pace than separately. This would temporarily create a single Cephalon, as powerful and competent as all three of us combined."

"Ordis, you beautiful and brilliant Cephalon! That is one hell of an idea! Obviously, this would be a protocol only implemented at very specific times, as I need the three of you to be separate for most occasions. These unification sessions, let's call them, could be absolutely priceless in their revelations. Not to mention that there's another Infested Cephalon out there that I've tasked Helminth with consuming once it appears, before it gets out of control. Are you certain that you can make the necessary adjustments, to the Psuedo-datascape, and that this process won't have any negative effects on any of you?"

"Absolutely, Operator. I've gone over all of the relevant calculations thousands of times and all I need is approximately twelve hours to make the necessary modifications."

"Haha, absolutely wonderful, Ordis. You already know I'm going to be training so don't worry about me and get that Psuedo-datascape modified on the double."

"At once, Operator."

I spend the next twelve hours making the most of the Subsidizer. I skip my physical training and focus solely on my meditations. I form my Dark Vein System complete with arteries, veins, capillaries, and barriers. I hold on to for as long as possible and then reenter the Subsidizer. My last session, before Ordis interrupts with news of his completion, was a little over four hours.

"Operator, I've completed the necessary modifications. I also received word from the General, reporting her successful capture and control of Saturn a couple of hours ago. I told her what was going on and she agreed to standby, until you've had an opportunity to test out the Psuedo-datascape's new potential."

"Haha, wonderful, Ordis. Now, let's see what this unification business is all about."

I walk over the handprint console on the wall and activate the Psuedo-datascape.

"Cephalons, assemble and unify."

I watch as each Cephalon is summoned to its pedestal and subsequently thrust into the center of this space where they begin to congeal, lose their previous colors and design, and take on a new form. When the transformation is complete, I'm left looking at three identical faces positioned around a common center that would be a head but there is no head just the faces. The faces position is stationary while they rotate around their common axis. Their eyes are pure white, with no pupils, and their mouths move in perfect synchronicity as the same voice sounds off three different times.

"Operator, I can sense that my capabilities in this form are truly immense, even as I speak am solving equations, inferences, and deductions that the other three would've taken months to work out. Does this please the Operator?"

"Hahaha, am I pleased? This is fantastic absolutely and truly splendid. By the way, what do I call you in this state?"

"I'm not certain, Operator. I feel as though I'm Ordis, Nyx, and Helminth but yet I also feel somewhat distinct from those three as well. Perhaps you should choose a name, Operator?"

"Hmmm...Let's go with Triumvirate it's nothing to complicated or profound but it's fitting."

"Triumvirate...yes, I quite like the sound of that. Triumvirate, I shall be then."

"Excellent! Then have you managed to produce any results or do you still need more time."

"I have managed to resolve all of the quandaries facing each Cephalon and even begin work on other tasks."

"Holy Circle of Cephalons, that's some seriously impressive computational power. That being said, if you've done that much, go ahead and disperse so that Nyx can resume our campaign."

"At once, Operator."

I witness the three rotating faces slowly dissolve and return to their original pedestals in their original forms.

"So do you all remember what happened while you were unified?"

""Yes, Operator."" "Yes, Master."

"Well, Ordis, I have to say that was a truly spectacular idea. I'm sure that Triumvirate will prove to be an invaluable asset. Thank you. Now, Nyx, you already know what to do. Ordis, Helminth, you're dismissed."

""Of course, Operator."" "Of course, Master."

With an actual smile on my actual face, I go back to my normal training routine. I've gotten to the point in my meditations that I can hold my Dark Vein System for nearly five hours straight. I need to continue pushing it, though. I can sense that I'm close to a breakthrough. I'm hoping when that time comes, I won't have to maintain the Dark Vein System consciously.

I continue my training for a couple of more days and at this point I can maintain my Dark Vein System for nearly twelve hours. I'm making pretty rapid progress but now that I'm this far I feel like the breakthrough that I was sensing is being held up by something. I enter a meditative state and begin analyzing every aspect of my Dark Vein System. I check for thickness, energy flow, durability, and anything else that might be hindering my progress. While checking the barriers around my vital organs, a thought occurs to me. 'I've spent so much time focusing on the internal aspect of the Dark Vein System I've neglected the external completely.'

With this thought in mind, I begin shaping a form fitting barrier around my entire body just on the outside of my skin. Once that's completed, I extend all of my capillaries out to connect with the barrier. I reshape the barrier in the places where the capillaries connect and create valves to allow dark energy to flow from the capillaries, into the barrier and vice versa.

As soon as all of these changes have been finalized, I can sense a completeness that was not there before. Of course, with this newer version of the Dark Vein System being a bit more complicated than the last, I'm now a bit closer to the complexity limit of what I can currently achieve. I maintain this version for a little over two hours and thus confirm the suspected set back.

Well, at least now I know that the Dark Vein System is complete and it's only a matter of time before I master it. My physical training is coming along well. I've grown another two inches I'm about five feet five inches, at the moment. I'm hoping I get to at least six feet but it's no big deal if I don't. Of course, I won't gain another inch, if I stop now and so it's back to training for me.

The Operator has high expectations for Saturn. Expectations that I would never have dreamt of. I've just confirmed the construction of the last Pillory. One hundred of them are currently working on a massive device that is one third the size of Saturn. Whenever it's put to use, however, it will be even smaller.

The Operator had asked me what I knew of piezoelectric materials and what were some possible applications for them. I explained that they were generally not very efficient and current technologies far outstrip their capabilities. He then asked several more questions, before telling me of this truly spectacular idea that surely only the Operator could have devised.

All one hundred Pillories are currently constructing a Piezoelectric Planetary Core to be placed into the gas giant, Saturn. This device utilizes materials with the most reactive Piezoelectric effect, the strongest and sturdiest materials, and modern technologies designed to enhance and sustain the Piezoelectric effect. These are all being crafted into a spherical matrix that will have specially designed plates placed at strategic intervals around the matrix. Once inside the gas giant, the planet's gravity will compress the matrix down, until the plates connect and form a complete sphere. The Planetary Core will then spew forth streams of electricity that will be captured by massive cables dangling from near surface structures. Once the core is in place, we can take our time covering the planet with city sized platforms, equipped with anti gravity tech that of course will be powered by the core.

'What a glorious vision, for the future, the Operator has. Could I be a luckier Cephalon?' I return from my musings and set back to work, on increasing the efficiency and potency of what the Operator refers to as the "Subsidizer."'

Master has given me a crucial task, that I'm very close to completing. I've analyzed all of the data concerning the Master's newly revealed body and have been working on a new and improved version of Nidus. I had originally been struggling, with how to apply Ducalidium to the Nidus frame, but it eventually occurred to me that it was because Ducalidium is not a product of the Infestation and Nidus is the Master of it and so how could he accept such a thing.

The acquisition of the Mutalist Strain, of course, brought the solution to this problem. Once I figured out how to Infest the Ducalidium, applying it to Nidus was an easy task. Ducalidium could not be Infested directly, however, the Infestation cannot infect energy, only matter. Because Ducalidium is so intune with and saturated with psionic energy it has a powerful resistance to the Infestation. Of course, this is easily resolved by Infesting all of the component parts before the forging process. The forging process actually becomes quite a bit different once the components have been Infested. Because the Mutalist Strain turns the metals into biological existences it's resilience when heated to extreme temperatures is slightly reduced. Once the forging process begins, it has to be handled very delicately and provided with a constant supply of bioenergy, in order to immediately repair any damage while also allowing the three metals to combine into a single alloy.

This was an incredibly complex process that required a constant assessment and implementation, based on millions upon millions of calculations, to ensure every nanometer of every cell and molecule was in the correct place and condition at the correct time.

This is something I was beginning to think I would never be able to accomplish, until Master's most recent summons in which all three of us Cephalons were unified into Triumvirate. A truly terrifying existence. If I wasn't one third of Triumvirate, I may very well hideaway in some dark corner of space in the hopes that we never cross paths. Triumvirate was able to create an absolutely beautiful and flawless equation that allows a Cephalon of my caliber, to forge Infested Ducalidium.

Now that Nidus Prime has been constructed, in the design given to me by Master in anticipation of its completion, I can start the additional augmentations to accompany it.

With Saturn the largest Grineer controlled planet out of the way, it shouldn't take too much longer to sweep the rest of the planets they control.

I've sent almost all available troops to Mercury, in order to ensure victory there, since I won't be there personally. While they carry out Operation Temperature Rising, I'm here on Uranus wrapping up Operation Waterworld. I enter the last underwater sealab and run roughshod over these disgusting creatures.

As soon as the Operation ends, I return to my Orbiter for a SitRep. As expected, there are very few in this System who could've resisted that assault. I instruct half of our forces to go to Sedna and the other half to Ceres. I instruct the Tenno going to Sedna to have a WormHole on the ground attuned to my Modified Nova. I direct my Orbiter towards Ceres and prepare for Operation Double Whammy. I want to wrap this up quickly. Not only so that the Tenno can finally take their rightful place amongst the stars but also so that I begin work on the whole host of weapons that were detailed by Triumvirate.

I slowly open my eyes, as a smile spreads across my face. I've just managed to breakthrough, after a month of meditations. I've come out of my meditative state and yet my Dark Vein System remains intact and fully functioning. Now that it no longer requires copious amounts of focus to maintain and I'm experiencing the Dark Vein System as a natural part of my body, I can feel the dark energy coursing through my body.

I walk into a training room and take aim at a dummy target...and now I'm going to have to replace that dummy. Well, all I know is that the last time I tried this, complete destruction of the dummy was absolutely not in the cards but now it's the only card. If that's not an upgrade I don't know what is. Considering that this is my power without an Amp and the fact that Ordis just finished crafting one sick ass Amp for me, I don't think my Operator Game is going to be lacking in any way.

At this point in my physical development, I've reached my goal of obtaining a fit and toned studly physique and I'm getting closer to six feet at five feet nine inches. I wake up every space feeling pretty damn good about how well things are progressing and about my steadily increasing power.

Nyx has taken a more active role in guiding and recruiting new Tenno, since our victorious Sol-Our System Campaign. She's also been coming out with new weapons left and right. A product, I'm told, of Triumvirate's insight.

Helminth finished my new Nidus Prime with a skin fashioned after the Night Hunter skin. This new Nidus isn't just Primed, though, it also has some pretty juicy augments that synergize with my Operator Mode. In the same way that Chroma can shed a portion of his skin in order to create a stationary floating attack drone, this Nidus can, upon me entering Operator Mode, shed a portion of its skin to fit around my Void Projection as a type of armor. This armor not only allows me to take more damage, before being forcefully returned to my frame, it also allows me to create specialized Infested spores that latch onto enemies, feed off of their bioenergy, and grow into maggots that generate additional stacks for Nidus.

This Primed Nidus also, doesn't need to equip any weapons. Aside from his murderous Virulence, he also can form a permanent serrated bone like sword that inflicts Viral damage. Both his forearms have been modified to function in the same manner as the Hema. He can shoot Hema projectiles from either his palm or  anyone of his fingers in full auto mode and specialized maggot production sacs are integrated into his thighs. These sacs produce maggots have the same function as Pox normally would, only they can seek out and latch onto enemies. They're basically Pox Maggots.

His psionic energy matrix is a modified version that implements Sentient Core technology. After accomplishing the task of integrating Ducalidium into Nidus, Helminth, decided to wire that Ducalidium through Nidus' Exocytes and merge it with Vicarllium integrated into the psionic energy matrix to function as a Psuedo-Sentient Core. This Psuedo-Sentient Core is more capable than a standard psionic energy matrix.

With all of these augments and upgrades, this particular Nidus is all around far more powerful than any standard Primed Nidus would be. Since Helminth Secondary has now been transferred to Nidus Prime, he, of course, can operate Nidus while I'm in Operator Mode. Not having a need for weapons, of course, doesn't mean I can't equip them. As such, my Nidus carries a Scionic Void Light, a modified version of the Might Light that channels dark energy instead of psionic energy, and a Scionic Detron, a modified Detron that utilizes dark energy ammunition. Along with my Amp which is stored in my inventory until I need it, these weapons are automatically equipped to my Void Projection, as soon as I enter Operator Mode.

Ordis, has managed to make some moderate improvements to Birdy and Bot during this time. Which reminds me, that I haven't gone on a single mission with those two since I got them. I should really make some time to take them on their maiden voyage. Hmmmm…with the Grineer no longer posing any serious threat, I can't really turn to them. Maybe it's time to visit the Federal Building for a little inspection of the training grounds. That's right an official inspection not play time.
