23 Mass Massacre 1

As soon as Lucas descended, he was greeted by Felicity, who still had a surprised expression. The spectacular phenomenon that just happened – the light ball he created – instantly killed all of the ambushers.

"Lucas, how powerful are you really? How could you negate the limits of your cultivation base? Where does all of the spiritual energy that you use come from?" Felicity bombarded him with a question.

Lucas, on the other side, just laughed off her question.

"Now you have time to be rude. Forget about it. If you don't want to answer my question, I will just eventually learn it if you trust me enough for you to spill your secrets." Felicity said in a dispirited tone.

Lucas looked at her with pity in his eyes. Though he was still bothered by Felicity's finding his real personality and identity, he still couldn't ignore the fact that she promised him to assist in the Upper Heavens.

'Now that guilts me.' he thought.

After the short conversation, Lucas started activating the area spell he mentioned. For the safety of citizens, spies can be captured in this spell. It was a curse type of magic that could be put in a place for a short time. Then if someone dares to have some malicious intent on one of the citizens, they will be captured.

But he still has worries. If the spies decide to go outside of the area of the curse, they could escape.

He flew for 10 minutes straight down the whole escape route to activate the spell. Then he went back to Felicity's side, and just a few moments later, the citizens and the guarding cultivators arrived.

Both of them just hid and left the area to handle the rest of the bandits.

"Now, our only problem is the alarmed observers outside the escape route."

Finally, after settling with the ambushers, Lucas and Felicity ventured to the other parts of the forest.

With Felicity's Celestial Senses, they located every bandit in the area. From the northern side of the city, Lucas activated his absorbing light balls again, killing everyone in an instant without feeling any pain or remorse for what they did to their lives.

It was a cruel scene for normal people. Even with the cause of saving the city, how could a human kill people without hesitating? It was a mass massacre.

However, normal people don't know those people who have long lived and had plenty of experience. Lucas doesn't feel any hatred towards bandits or criminals; instead, he weighs their picture against the world and judges it.

Since Lucas feels that bandits don't have enough purpose to live in this world, he could just kill them to retrieve the peace where he is. This isn't his previous world, where he was restrained from doing things that would change the flow of the balance.

Hence, in this world where such rules exist, where "strong eat the weak", he could just live without being bothered by the people he killed.

He is not cruel; he is simply practical with things, and he incorporates the rules of this world into his foundation.

If he is going to live with immortals, he must live like what an immortal does in this world. However, of course, the rules apply but not the personality alone.

After a few moments, Lucas retrieved the energies coming to him. He absorbed everything and did not leave a small part of it untouched.

Felicity just remained steady, looking at him in confusion.

'He is cultivating at this moment? Is this what he means, that he will reach at least the General Spirit Realm by absorbing their energies? How could he even do it?' Felicity pondered while looking at him.

Moments later, when Lucas finally finished cultivating, he took a breath and stretched his limbs.

"So… where are the other 3,000?" he asked after taking a count of 7,000 kills within an hour.

"At the western side. And in the southern part, I can see the General Spirit Realm cultivator."

A creepy smile formed on his lips. Felicity just shrugged it off and continued following him.

'In this case, I don't even need to assist him… How can I ever repay him then?' she questioned herself inwardly.

While Lucas felt satisfied with the progress he had achieved right now, he is currently at the 3rd level of the Master Spirit Realm cultivation base, and his third energy is now at the 4th level of the same stage.

After spending some time cultivating, Lucas felt a little bored with the routine. Even though Felicity really didn't do much, he still felt bored for no reason.

"Why don't we spice up the fun?" Lucas suddenly asked Felicity, making her wonder.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"Let's kill them with our hands, of course. Don't you want to do it?" Lucas said.

"Nope, thanks. I'm disgusted with blood." she retracted.

Lucas understood it, then he made another suggestion – that he wouldn't need to splatter blood throughout the area.

"Killing them with light balls is boring, so let's kill them with pressure," he muttered, making Felicity frown.

"Are you being sadistic? Why are you so eager to kill?"

"Well, nothing worthy to mention. Let's just finish this, shall we?"

"Sighs… Okay, let's go."

Then they started moving to the western side, where almost 750 bandits were panicking from the sudden disconnection with their comrades.

On the western side, everyone was agitated that they might have triggered some expert. If not, why did a battalion disappear?

They can't even contact them, much worse, no sign of life at their positions. Where could they be? Did they die?

"This isn't good. Go report to the leader and ask for reinforcement. I can feel a strong pressure coming here."

"I understood. Please stay well, platoon leader."

"Don't worry, I am now at the Master stage, so I can put up a fight with that pressure."

"Yes."

While from a distance, Felicity, who could hear everything, couldn't help but raise her eyebrows.

'Why do these bandits use military units?' she thought.

Lucas looked at the crowd in front of him. They all looked agitated and unwell at their location.

"Well… they must be really alarmed. Then, let's start the fun." Lucas mumbled after the pressure exploded from his body.

Felicity also followed him, and her body exploded from her cultivation base's pressure too.

Thick air, equivalent to the pressure spread throughout the area. The bandits who were standing couldn't help but shout from the pressure they were taking from both of them.

They couldn't see the person who was making the pressure. As for the reason, the pressure is just too strong for their sense to go crazy.

Every step they take, a group dies. Losing count of their kills, Lucas can't help but release a smirk.

This is the relief he has been looking for in the past few years. However, since he was shackled by immortality, he couldn't execute it.

But right now, where immortals also live, he can't build up the word to describe the feeling of freedom he's feeling right now.

After a few minutes of their rampage, a strong cultivator arrived.

Felicity noticed the cultivator who came. She immediately reported it to Lucas at her side, making him feel pleased with the outcome of it.

"Then, the last piece for my breakthrough. The one who will let me reach the General stage." Lucas mumbled, feeling that he had hit a jackpot on his visit to Duster City.
