25 Mass Massacre 3

The escape route was covered with silence. The citizens were filled with horror when they saw the pile of corpses lying on the ground.

The spies that came from the Red Moon Castle were also speechless. They were struck by lightning when they saw the supposed ambushers that were going to hostage the citizens.

'This isn't good. Who killed them?'

'What should we do now that we are down to a small number.'

'Fuck! We are only 400 and we're only at the middle of Warrior Spirit Realm!'

The spies looked at each other to understand the situation. They nod when they connect, deciding the next step they will take.

Their first purpose was to take the citizens as hostages. Thus, it won't change. If a powerful cultivator killed the ambushers to save the people, he would be agitated if he saw everyone held hostage.

The spies removed their covers, revealing their true uniforms. Everyone who was unaware of everything was baffled and shocked that they couldn't move their knees of their own accord.

"If we can't take everyone as our hostage, then we can at least take a small amount of them!" One of the spies yelled before pulling a child.

The mother who was holding her child was surprised. She cried immediately when she saw her child in danger.

After what happened, all of the spies followed the initiation, holding a citizen as their hostage.

The forest was filled with gasps. Even the guards can't move, afraid that a wrong move may kill a citizen they must protect.

"If you are listening! I know you are, even if you try to hide your presence. I will kill this girl if you don't step out and surrender yourself!" One spy yelled.

Everyone was filled with anticipation. The mother was also hoping that the person who was mentioned by the spy would come out too to save her child.

But no one came out, making the mother cry a river of tears.

"Oh… so you don't want. Then let's have an example then."

The spy lifted his weapon and targeted the neck of the child who was quivering in fear. However, before he could even harm the child, he lost his breath, passing out before the child.

People who witnessed it saw that the spy died. They were even assured because the eyes of the spy were all white.

"H-He's dead?" A spy was baffled.

The mother immediately pulled her daughter into her embrace while the spies were still speechless at the moment.

Irritation. That's what the spies felt, and as they were surrounding the citizens, they should have taken another step to turn the tide in their favor.

"So, you decided to save the kid. But let's see if you can do it if we kill all of them at the same time."

Everyone acted to kill their hostages, but before they could even harm them, all of them lost their lives. They fall to the ground without even noticing that they have died.

Everyone who intended to harm the citizens died as a result of their actions. Their eyes whitened, making it looked like they were choked to death in a mere second.

As for the citizens who witnessed it, they can only feel agitated, agitated about why a powerful person was mysteriously hiding around them. That feat wasn't normal. Could a person kill without even touching them? In this realm, it's not an attainable feat!

Who saved them? Even if they were feeling hopeful, why would that person also risk the life of the hostage by not coming out?

But at least, they were thankful that the harm was finally gone. They thanked and kowtowed in any direction that they could.

"Thank you for saving us, our savior."

But no one appeared. They could only feel the cold wind brushing their skins.

He must be a mysterious or even a mystical individual. As a result, they couldn't help but admire and pray to the person who saved them, as if they were putting their trust in him as if he was a god.

Everyone was finally safe; therefore, they continued their escape.

Lucas went back to the mansion where Arthur was walking back and forth in worry. When he saw Lucas coming, he rushed to him.

"Don't worry, Arthur. The city is finally safe. You can call them back since I killed everyone who planned to cause harm to your city." Lucas said with an assuring smile on his face.

"I-Is it true? Thank you very much, Lucas. Without you, our city will be really at the hands of the Red Moon Castle." Arthur kowtowed to him.

"Stand up. I have a question. Who are these people? Why are they that huge?" Lucas asked.

Arthur stood up to Lucas's demand and reluctantly revealed everything he knew about the bandits.

"Well, they are the biggest bandit in the eastern region where their hideout can't be pointed out since they are mysterious. As to why their size was huge like an army, I don't know. Their leader was even mysterious at this moment." Arthur said.

Lucas nodded simultaneously. "I see… but you don't need to worry anymore. All of them were dead, but the problem was that the forest was covered with corpses. If you can, burn their bodies before the corpse rots."

"I understand. Thank you really, Lucas."

"Don't mind it. It was really my personal interest." Lucas shook his head.

"But still. That was a reckless decision you made."

"Hahaha. Maybe. Anyways, I am here to tell you that I'll be continuing my venture, so I will leave the city in minutes."

Even though Arthur was dispirited, he couldn't do anything about it. Lucas didn't just help his daughter but also saved his city. For his own safety, he can't put Lucas on hold any longer.

"Then, if you will leave, please at least take this." Arthur took out a medallion and handed it to him.

"What's this?" he asked.

"That's a special pass. Even it can't give you the very best priority in the line to enter a city of experts. Maybe it can still help you. I know you're more powerful than what you showed us, but I hope that I can help you in small ways." Arthur said.

'City of experts, huh. Maybe in the future, I can go there, but not this time since I want to enjoy a little.' he thought.

Lucas looked at Arthur then smiled at him, "Thanks for this. I won't be humble and exploit the privilege I can get from this."

Arthur sighed in relief that Lucas accepted it. Then he handed out a pouch full of gold coins.

Lucas raised his eyebrow in confusion.

"This was supposed to be the payment for the cultivators that would help us defend the city. But since they were useless and maybe spies, I hope you can have it instead." Arthur continued.

Lucas snickered. "I won't be humble then." Lucas received the pouch and stored it in his storage magic secretly.

"I will be going now. Stay safe, Arthur." Lucas said before leaving the mansion with his hands waving.

"Thank you, Lucas. You too," he said.

A few moments later, Lucas and Felicity's figures disappeared, flying into the air.

Arthur sighed then turned his back in his room's direction. However, he bumped into Pearl, who was in a hurry. It made him curious and he asked Pearl what the problem was.

"Is Lucas still there?" she asked.

Arthur sighed again and shook his head.

"Sorry, Pearl. Even if I wanted him to be your partner, the disparity between our worlds was huge to him. I'm sorry," he said, making Pearl feel as if she had been struck by lightning.

"Y-You know?" she asked in disbelief.

"Of course. You are my daughter. Just give up." Arthur said, then embraced his daughter, who started bursting into tears after he said it.
