35 Mary Luo 2

Felicity stiffened after hearing Lucas's words. It was obviously dangerous. How could she let him do it?

However, Lucas was serious about it. He didn't even make a second thought of doing it. It was not just that he was confident, since he had more third energy to use.

"I can't let you do it. It's risky," she said with a slight insistence in her tone.

Lucas just shook his head. "I know it's risky but I'm confident since I have more saved energy for it. What you must be concerned about is whether you will let me do it to her, not letting her condition make me do it to her."

Felicity was silent after it. She remained silent for a short moment, then finally revealed her answer.

"I get it… But if you try to risk your life, please stop immediately. I don't want to lose someone again, not this time," she said with her voice low, almost inaudible.

Lucas breathed out before approaching the opened display glass. While Larry still had a clueless expression, Felicity was agitated that Lucas might experience it again like the day she was healed by him.

With a smile on his face, he approached a fair-looking lady. She had short hair and her eyelashes were long enough that in her slumber, you could imagine how her eyes were so beautiful if she was just awake.

It was not just the case; she also had soft skin that even though she was cold, her skin was still fluffy in a good way.

Lucas chanted the spell and light emerged from his open palms.

When Felicity saw it, she was mesmerized and taken to another place of her imagination. It was as if the spell that Lucas was doing brought her to another level of soothing sensation.

As Lucas moved to another part of the spell, another profound chant was pronounced by him, and a flicker of light followed. He started to imagine the magic circle in his mind, and the light brightened more.

Larry, who was just watching, started to show some expression. His eyes became more excited, even though he didn't know what Lucas was doing to her sister.

After some moments, Lucas started to feel exhausted, but he didn't make it known. He underestimated Mary's condition, thinking that now he had a higher cultivation base in third energy, he could do the spell effortlessly.

But alas, it didn't go well. His anticipation slides into a worse path that he hadn't planned.

He hissed silently when he felt lightheaded. Mary's condition is more difficult to handle as she was not fully human blood.

'I can't do this…' He surrendered, but he did not stop yet, as he felt an urge to continue it even though he knew that it was useless.

When Felicity noticed it, she made a worried face and tried to stop him, but Lucas was too eager to heal Mary.

"Lucas…" She made a worrying sound.

She was watching for the whole moment and just now, she noticed the effort Lucas was putting into his operation. Even though she doesn't know how Lucas did it, she has faith in him, but it can't be removed that she still worries since she's clueless.

Lucas continued pouring energy into the spell. More minutes had been used, and Lucas was finally on the edge of total surrender. He stopped the spell and took a breath after a moment. He looked at Felicity with a sad expression.

"I'm sorry for giving you hope. I can't have her body recover. I'm sorry."

However, Felicity just shook her head as she already knew from the beginning that it would be futile. Perhaps Lucas's mystical arts were just for humans after all.

Larry at the back snapped back to reality and returned to his still expressionless face. He looked at both of them and pondered inwardly what had just happened.

"It's okay. I know that her case was something hard. Even I, who came from a family of experts in magical beasts, can't find any solution." Felicity said with a bitter smile.

"But… what will happen to her?" Lucas asked.

Felicity didn't respond immediately. She used the time to gather her courage and looked at Lucas.

"I know this may be selfish of me since I promised that in exchange for saving my life, I would assist you in ascending to the upper heavens. But right now, I see Mary in this case… I can't decide if I can still follow you…"

It was like Lucas's expectation. He felt that Felicity would feel something about her first friend, and even though she would humiliate herself by making a promise, she would still choose her friend.

Lucas already knew it. Their time together was simply too brief and was intended only as a form of compensation. Thus, Lucas already knew what to answer.

"I already know and I won't feel bad for it. You have already helped me a lot, and I think I can do it on my own. If you ever feel guilty, don't be. I'm okay with it as I already lived enough to be matured." Then he let out an awkward chuckle.

"No… that's not what I mean. I want to be with you and repay your kindness. Even if it's only for a lifetime, I have gained a new purpose in my life, and meeting you was part of it. Please, Lucas… No… Master, I want to be your servant."

Lucas became deaf the moment he heard Felicity's words. That was not part of his expectations. Felicity, being her servant? There's no way he could think that.

Not only was she beautiful and also higher than him in any aspect, but she also came from the upper heavens, which literally created a huge disparity between their status.

If there was someone who could become a servant, it would be him, not Felicity.

Lucas couldn't build the word to say. He just looked at Felicity with a surprised expression, as if he wanted to hear it once more.

"Servant? Are you nuts? Aren't you higher than me to be my servant? I can't even think of any qualification to be your master."

"No, you are qualified. You healed my dying body. And not just it, you're also a talented person who can use mystical arts despite having a lower cultivation base. Do you even know that cultivators who can use mystical arts must have higher cultivation, at least in the second realm of cultivation? You are more qualified than anyone I have met!" Felicity couldn't help but straighten out Lucas's perspective.

As Felicity already knows, Lucas didn't really come from here since he already said that he had the same situation as him. But it was not to the point that he could defy the laws and logic of the cultivation world.

Lucas is also important to her. When she was inspecting and observing Lucas when he was out for a month, she felt a slight connection with him. As she also inspected her body after recovering, she discovered that there was unique energy lingering inside her body that she expected came from Lucas.

"Are you sure?" Lucas asked.

Even though he shows reluctance towards her, Lucas was already used to having servants. In his previous world, people would line up just to become his servant. But right now, since he's in a different world with a different set of rules, he must think twice since he is not as great as he was before.

'This world is wider than mine. If she becomes my servant, it will also mean that she'll be involved in my life and worries.'

Lucas breathed out, then put his hands on Felicity's shoulder. He moved his face near to Felicity's, making her stiff and reluctant.

"If you want to become my servant, why would you want it?" he asked.

This is always what he asks people who want to be his servants. And for what reason? Nothing in particular; his next answer would just depend on their answers.

"It's because I want to follow you. Even if I can't pay you right now, I will surely pay you back when you get into the upper heavens. So, please, I want to have a chance to follow you and repay you by being your servant," she said in a quick manner and a bashful tone.

Lucas stood up straight and looked at Felicity, who was below his gaze.

"Then, if you really like to, I won't question you again. I still need to say thanks for your guidance till now. I learned a lot." Lucas said before he chanted a spell and made a pact with Felicity – a master-servant relationship. With this, Lucas will know Felicity's location if they are in the same realm.
