180 God of Magic 4

Lia was just doing some of her daily routines in the Northern Region, where she was preparing for the final authority of the Northern Alliance when suddenly, she felt a sudden surge of pressured unknown energy.

It wasn't really unknown, but in fact, she felt it was familiar. She knew that she had sensed this energy before, but she just couldn't point out where and when.

"This feeling is too familiar..."

She contemplated it and then realized that it was from Lucas. She recognized this energy as the familiar yet strange energy that Lucas possessed. And so, since it was just near the Central Region, at the most northern part of the Southern Region, she prepared to leave.

She left the Northern Alliance headquarters and went to the Southern Region. She took the initiative to check it since it was rampaging. And as it was rampaging, she knew it was dangerous.

Comprehending energy's effects was what her life was all about. She halted and stared at a familiar face just as she arrived.

The sun's rays kissed her skin as the breeze brushed her hair as she came to a halt in mid-air.

Lia put her thoughts aside and simply observed as Lucas absorbed all of the strange energy around him. He then took a long breath and smiled, relieved. Lia was perplexed just by watching it.

"Lucas! What are you doing there on that damaged site?" She shouted loudly to let Lucas hear, but then, Lucas just looked at her with different eyes.

Because of this, Lia was confused again and didn't know how to approach Lucas.

His gaze was too deep as if his eyes were dark, enough to terrify her for a short time. And just as she felt something was different about Lucas, she already knew that there was something wrong.

She slowly landed and just continued to look at him. She didn't disconnect her gaze and just remained focused on him.

"What is wrong with him?" she asked herself and gave Lucas discerning eyes. And when she noticed something, she suddenly attacked.

An image of a blade emerged and they flew straight to Lucas. The reason for her attack was that she felt that Lucas was a threat and dangerous. It was just an instinct, but she was never wrong in her instinct.

Lia was also waiting for Lucas's reply, and as Lucas redirected her attack, she took a pause and inspected Lucas.

She observed once again, without making any sound, to learn if it was really Lucas.

'Was I wrong? Maybe this person isn't Lucas but someone else who has the same presence like him. But, his gaze was just too different from Lucas.'

She then again looked at what she had noticed earlier. She knew that Lucas had some kind of hostile intent and that he wouldn't do it to her unless she did something wrong.

'No matter who the person was, if they gave me a hostile look, I wouldn't back out.' She swore to herself and then unleashed an attack.

Just like earlier, an image of a sword was created. However, it wasn't created as a normal sword but as a slash. It turned into the shape of a slash, and there, she directed it to Lucas.

But when it hit Lucas, she immediately created a follow-up attack. She produced fire from her hands and then launched it at Lucas and attempted to burn him. But, she failed.

Lia had no idea what had happened; Lucas was still standing, unaffected by her attacks, and Lia was at a loss for words.

'Was I wrong? Maybe Lucas was really stronger than me and I just disregarded it in the past.' She was having a fight with herself and her thoughts were rampaging against each idea.

'But, if he wasn't that strong, then him teaching Yuna would mean nothing. But, still, he let me control him with just the robes, for heaven's sake. They were even useless to him since they could be destroyed by a General Spirit Realm cultivator.'

Lia stretched her neck and tilted her head.

"Lucas, why aren't you asking me? Don't you know why I am attacking you?"

Lucas was painted with an unsure expression. He looked confused, but more like of infuriated expression to her. And just looking at it, Lia couldn't be more confused.

She was perplexed by Lucas's actions.

Lucas looked at her without making any sound or even reaction. He just took a pause and went blank.

And by looking at it, different speculations reached Lia's mind.

'Was Lucas controlled? It could be, but who would control him? He was strong, and even I wasn't able to control him that much. I played with his mind before, but I failed. So, who would dare to control Lucas?'

"Are you okay?" Lia asked, but Lucas remained silent.

Lia let out a sigh as there were no results that could be gotten from this. However, Lucas suddenly moved and that made her alarmed.

While dashing in Lia's direction, Lucas attacked. He threw heavy, dark matters from his grasp.

The dark matters were in the form of spheres and made deafening noises. And just as those dark matters came straight at Lia, Lia defended herself with a protective array.

She unleashed an array without making any effort and defended herself. And just as Lucas arrived before her, Lucas launched a fist-sized amount of dark matter.

Lia dodged it and flew above. She then looked below and saw Lucas preparing to attack her again.

"So you intend to send a barrage of attacks? You should have told me." Lia uttered, then protected herself again.

Not to her surprise, Lucas had different categories of colored balls. At this time, Lucas's hands were covered with beans from light balls. And as they flew away from his hands, Lia received too much impact from her protective array.

She defended herself and even made her wrinkle her face from the impact. And just as she didn't expect it, Lucas had disappeared. He became invisible, as he didn't appear again.

But Lia knew that Lucas was still around because of his presence. He was just invisible, she was sure of it.

However, even though he was invisible, light balls were still continuing to attack her.

She felt pressure from the light balls. They were threats to her, so she just ignored Lucas and continued protecting herself.

She created plenty of layers of protective barriers just to defend herself. And when she felt that they were too strong to handle, she would just dodge them.

After making sure that she could manage the light balls, she tried to find Lucas. However, an unsatisfactory failure occurred as the light balls continued to block her concentration.

But fortune struck her. Lucas slowly reappeared, but he was confused and shocked by it. And from this, Lia knew that Lucas had unintentionally appeared.

"So, you are going to show yourself too. Why didn't you make it sooner." Lia said, then made a grin.

'Shit. I am lacking in mana. Why did this lady suddenly attack me? Is she the owner of this land?' Lucas thought as he was really confused.

Lucas launched a barrage of attacks as soon as he realized Lia had already seen him. He continued to postpone her until he was confident that he would not be threatened by her.

He began to see that his mana was dwindling and that he needed more time to replenish it.

Lucas recognized that the woman who was attacking him was a formidable opponent. He further realized he wouldn't be able to battle her on an equal footing.

Lucas then sent his last strong attack, and after it, Lia defended herself helplessly. She stood with confidence, a slight hint of irritation on her face.

"What the hell is wrong with you, Lucas?! Why are you not answering me?!" Lia was infuriated in her shout, and just as she looked for Lucas, she paused. She wasn't able to find Lucas.

Lucas disappeared without any tracks, and that made her blank.

"What's with him?" she mumbled confusedly.

Lia pondered and cursed afterward. She then finally had the time to inspect the area, and just as she saw other people dead, she realized that Lucas was as if protecting himself.

Whether protected or not, Lucas killed these people. But, she didn't care about any of them. What she was curious about was why he killed them.

The essence of these people disappeared, just like how a mysterious person with a red sphere took people's lives nearly two years ago.

However, the difference was that the Qi essence was still present, but the other half was missing.

"What the hell was that? Why did Lucas act weird?"

And just as she was at the edge of her thoughts, she started flying and went back to the Northern Region to look for Jeric. She then told Jeric everything, as she knew that Lucas and Jeric were slightly close to each other.

Meanwhile, Lucas was exhaustedly looking for a place to hide. He was worried about something and was hurting along the way. He didn't know what just happened there, but he realized that he was not the only powerful person.

Furthermore, he was still reforming himself and getting used to having a body. He was God of Magic, but still not as powerful as his purpose was.
