Chapter 358

358 “Let’s break up.”

The moment he was finally let go Yi Chen’s first response was to look for Zi Han. Since Zi Han’s light brain had long gone offline he tried to get hold of Zi Xingxi and Zi Feiji.

Like Zi Han, Zi Xingxi’s light brain was offline, or to be more accurate it was deactivated. Zi Feiji’s contact was temporarily unavailable but he kept trying while rushing over to the Zi family home.

When he got there the house was empty and from the looks of it, they had vacated the place already.

Yi Chen sat down at the front door his leg shaking in anxiety as he called Zi Feiji again. After trying six times it suddenly came online but Zi Feiji didn’t answer. Yi Chen felt stifled like something was pressing hard against his chest making it very difficult to breathe.

Yi Feng couldn’t keep watching. He was the one who had picked him up from capital star military harbor after he was let go. That’s because the Marshal had managed to confiscate his authority to use the military hovercars for personal use. His father was also temporarily in control of his personal assets thus his cousin had to come and rescue him.

One might ask why he wasn’t afraid of his uncle’s retaliation. He was bad shit scared but his love for his cousin outweighed his fear. His cousin was there for him when he was at his lowest. He fished him out of the gutter and helped him recover so yes he would back him up.

“Ah-Chen, you can’t keep sitting here. At least come sit in the hovercar while you call,” said Yi Feng as he stretched out his hand intending to pull him up.

Yi Chen ignored him while listening to the dialer tone his hand trembling uncontrollably. “You.... you think if the reporters films me sitting here he will see it and know that I am looking for him?” asked Yi Chen his voice croaky like he hadn’t drunk water for days.

Yi Feng looked at his listless eyes with black circles and suddenly felt an ache in his heart. “He might bu-,” said Yi Feng only for Yi Chen to raise his index finger to stop him from talking.

.....

“Sir...,” he said but Zi Feiji who had answered the call interrupted him saying,

“What do you want?”

Yi Chen choked up his eyes turning red. He pushed back his hair and said, “I am looking for Zi Han. Is, is he okay?”

Zi Feiji didn’t say anything for a long while that Yi Chen even thought that he had already cut the call. After a while, Zi Feiji sighed and said, “You should ask your father what he did to him... There is no need to call again so... don’t keep trying.”

Each word he spoke was like a dagger repeatedly stabbing into Yi Chen’s heart tearing apart his flesh and soul.

“Wait, wait... sir, I just want to speak to him. I... I am begging you,” said Yi Chen talking so fast that his words were almost tripping over themselves.

Zi Feiji glanced back at the closed door and bit his lip not certain if Zi Han would be willing. “Please...,” whispered Yi Chen with tremendous pain in his voice.

“Fine... but it’s up to him whether he wants to talk to you or not,” said Zi Feiji before walking back.

“Thank you, thank you so much,” said Yi Chen in a tremulous voice.

Zi Feiji stood outside the door and said, “Don’t thank me yet. Whether he would be willing to speak to you is yet to be determined.”

The door slid open and Zi Han who was exercising the movement in his hand turned to look at his grandfather while asking, “Did you forget something?”

For the first time, Yi Chen finally heard Zi Han’s voice after days. A sharp feeling cut through his stomach from the excitement of hearing his sweetheart’s voice.

He directly wanted to climb out of the light brain and pull him into his arms but that was merely wishful thinking.

“No, I have someone who wants to talk to you,” replied Zi Feiji and Zi Han’s chest tightened as his brows creased.

“Who?” he asked and Zi Feiji whispered,

“Yi Chen.”

The crease on Zi Han’s forehead eased slightly as he glanced at that light brain with a complicated expression.

“He really wants to speak to you. He has been trying to get a hold of you for the longest time,” said Zi Feiji but Zi Han remained frozen on the spot his hesitation clearly written on his face.

Zi Feiji took off the light brain and placed it on the bed before saying, “It’s up to you whether you want to talk to him or not. I will just leave this here, okay?... Let me know if you need anything.”

After saying that Zi Feiji walked out and with a silent whoosh the door closed. Zi Han swallowed his saliva before taking a small step forward.

His chest felt even more constricted and the pain spread from his heart to his recovering hand that it trembled involuntarily. Zi Han turned his back to the light brain and pushed his hair back in frustration as he paced a little.

He finally walked over and sat down before opening and closing his mouth several times. After a while, he said, “Hey,” in a mouse like voice that Yi Chen almost missed.

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

Yi Chen smiled widely his lips trembling as the prominent veins on his forehead and hand throbbed.

“Hey...,” he whispered back his eyes bloodshot.

“Are you oka-,” asked Yi Chen but Zi Han said simultaneously,

“Let’s break up.”

A biting cold chill spread all over Yi Chen’s body before it pierced his heart making it bleed. The smile on his face froze and his lips trembled even more. “Wait... wait, what?” he said as he painfully clutched his hair.

“You must be joking, right?” he continued to say in disbelief.

Zi Han bit his lip as he raised his legs onto the bed and sat crossed legged in the lotus position. He rubbed the back of his neck and closed his eyes before saying it again, “Break up... let’s, let’s break up.”

Yi Chen, “...”
