Chapter 365

365 The Yi family protest

Yi Chen lay down on the bed with his limbs sprawled on all four corners while staring at the projection above his head. It was a projection of Zi Han’s image and the chat interface between the two of them. He had a really good setup going on in the background perfect for a broken heart i.e. sad love songs under the cover of darkness.

He had bombarded Zi Han with so many messages day in day out because he wanted to make sure his fiance doesn’t forget that he was taken. Even when they were apart, YI Chen was going to hold on tight to that relationship and never let go thus after getting Zi Han’s new contact he was constantly messaging him.

Yi Chen could tell that Zi Han was trying to distance himself but he was honestly not going to let that happen. After waiting for an hour, a sweet dinging sound blended in with the music, and Yi Chen glanced at the small bubble.

When he opened that message a silly smile crept up his face as he abruptly responded.

Unknown: it’s like a secret love affair.

Unknown: Isn’t that exciting?

Unknown: I won’t get caught. Trust me.

Yi Chen placed his arm at the back of his head while his other hand was resting on his chest. Biting his lower lip he took a very um... unconventional picture considering that he was only wearing a pair of shorts. He checked if he looked handsome and appetizing enough in the picture before forwarding it to Zi Han.

He couldn’t wait to get him over here with that one picture. Two seconds later a notification came through from the home system letting him know that someone was at the door. He almost thought that it was Zi Han but of course, that image wouldn’t get him here that fast.

.....

When he checked the camera he saw it was his mother and his siblings standing there with a lot of suitcases like they were moving in.

Yi Chen’s brows twitched wondering why on earth they were here. They hadn’t said anything to him in advance. In fact, Yi Chen thought they were still at their grandfather’s place.

He gave Raylan permission to open the door while he got up and put on a t-shirt and Zi Han’s cow slippers. Yes, they were wearing each other’s clothes now. Well, those that fit.

When Yi Chen stepped out of the bedroom he saw Ming Ming dragging her tiny unicorn suitcase up the staircase. She appeared like she was struggling despite it being so small so Yi Chen picked it up and asked, “What’s going on?”

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

Ming Ming pressed her lower back with both her hands like an old auntie that had been bending down for a very long time.

“We are protesting,” she said before walking past him into the bedroom. “Oh, and dage should get an android butler. My back hurts,” she continued to say her voice trailing off.

Yi Chen, “...”

A little bossy, wasn’t she? Not that he minded it.

Sounds of huffing and puffing followed as the younger brother who despised exercise walked up the stairs dragging his marble-blue suitcase as well.

Yi Chen took it from him and asked, “What are you protesting?”

Yi Youxi slumped down and complained, “Why do you have stairs?”

Yi Chen pulled the suitcase and said, “We have stairs at home as well.”

“But we have a butler and I don’t have to carry such heavy things up and down the stairs,” retorted Yi Youxi before lying down on the cold floor directly, “Grandma gave me so many things to give you. It was like carrying a bag full of rocks.”

“You only carried it up the stairs plus you could have just left it downstairs,” replied Yi Chen and Yi Youxi turned over hugging his older brother’s slippers.

“Blame it on mum. She said that we have to respect sister in law’s house. We shouldn’t leave our stuff lying around,” said Yi Youxi while tugging at the horns on the slippers, “Ohh, nice slippers.”

Yi Chen, “...”

“Get up,” he said and when Yi Youxi moved away he pulled the suitcase into the bedroom. Ming Ming was already opening and touching everything except what was on the high shelves. Unlike her brother, she didn’t listen to the ‘respect your sister in law’s house’ policy.

The little Nimsel had already crawled into Zi Han’s folded clothes curling up like a little fluff ball with Mr. Twiggles as the pillow.

Yi Chen, “...”

This was an invasion. “Ming Ming stop messing arou-,” he reprimanded her only for him to be interrupted by another notification at the door.

When he checked the camera he was hit straight in the face by massive amounts of dog food. Yi Feng and his boyfriend were kissing by the door and from the looks of it, Kiet was reluctant to leave.

He hastily gave Raylan permission to open the door before picking up his sister to leave his room. Yi Youxi followed behind already playing with his light rain. Yi Chen sat Ming Ming on the couch and asked Yi Feng who had just walked in, “What are you doing here?”

Yi Feng who didn’t feel welcomed at all said, “I got kicked out so I am staying here for a few hours until Xxx finishes his shift.”

Yi Chen, “...”

“Don’t you have some stock inventory to do at your nightclub or something? I already have a full house,” said Yi Chen ready to chase at least one headache out of his house.

“I have an AI for that... mmmm, smells like aunt’s cooking,” he said before turning to go into the kitchen.

Yi Chen, “...”

He took a step forward and almost bumped into his mother’s suitcase. Yi Chen picked it up and went upstairs to place it with the others in the closet before checking his light brain. Since Zi Han hadn’t responded he could only go downstairs and speak to his mother.

“Here, try this?... Do you like it? I bet your mother can’t beat my peanut chili sauce,” said Lin Ruoxi while feeding Yi Feng a spoonful of the steaming chili sauce.

Yi Feng seemed to like it. He squinted his eyes with a contented expression on his face before praising his aunt’s cooking.

“It’s very yummy?”

Yi Chen side hugged his mother while saying, “Smells nice.”

Lin Ruoxi pinched his cheek quite glad he was still in good spirits.
