“Mom, do you think I’m a piglet?” Liuli teased, reflecting on how she had sneaked out in the afternoon and hadn’t slept at all.

“Well, actually, I could have Mr. Tang come here too!” Liuli suggested, a mischievous smile on her face.
“Who are you saying?” Grandma asked in confusion.
“Brother Jingxing!” Liuli smiled.
“You are still joking at this moment?”
Jingxing was the only son in the Tang family.
“They are doing this for our sake.” Grandma Yu smiled.
“But I am the only girl in our family!”
“How could I be married off then?!”

Nothing had changed, and tomorrow was just a formality. Liuli repeated these words in her mind, trying to console herself as she lay in bed, unable to fall asleep.

“It’s time to wake up and get ready,” Lin Yu replied, her gaze fixed on Liuli.
Liuli, still feeling drowsy, asked, “What time is it? Do we have to get up now?”
She longed to sleep a little longer; she was so sleepy.
“Don’t go back to sleep. It’s already 6:30 AM. You need to get dressed, put on makeup, and pay respects to our ancestors. It will keep you busy,” Lin Yu said, gently stroking Liuli’s hair.
“Mom, can I sleep for just half an hour? No, 15 minutes will do,” Liuli pleaded.

Liuli lifted the blanket, got off the bed and went into the bathroom to wash up.
Then she got changed and walked out of the room.
She saw her father in the living room on the second floor.
He was smoking and thinking about something. He looked tired. “Dad…”Liuli said.
