CH 240

[Suphia’s POV]

I was lost in thoughts.

I’ve been thinking about it every day since that day.

“How can I see you again, you, the black-masked one…? I think of you so much every single day, and yet… I miss you, the black mask one, so please come back.”

And I let out a sigh.

The black-masked one, why haven’t you appeared before me since that day you saved me?

But call it my intuition, or perhaps it was fate that decided this since before we were even born, that you and I are in love and destined to become one.

So why don’t you, the one in the black mask, come and see me?

I am prepared every day for the possibility of eloping at any time.

And so I began to think.

Why have you, in your black mask, not appeared before me since that day?

And I realized something.

“Up until now, you have always appeared before me when I’m in danger… So, when I get myself in danger, won’t you appear in front of me to help me, my love?”

You have to.

Perhaps you, the black mask one, are under some circumstance that prevents you from appearing before me.

But when I’m in danger, I’m not in a position to say that, and I don’t know if it’s a rule or a code, but I guess you break it and come to my rescue.

That is why you, the black-masked one, always wore a black mask when you appeared before me.

If I find out your true identity, we will not be able to see each other anymore, which is not allowed. That must be why you, the Knight in the Black Mask, are so bitterly trying to help me by hiding your true identity behind a mask.

If I think about it that way, everything makes sense now. It definitely must be so.

This means that the next time I see you in the black mask will be when I’m in danger.

However, such an incident would not happen, and even if it did, I would have to be the hostage.

I wonder how low the odds of that are and how often I’ve encountered those low odds before.

But thinking about it the other way around, if the relationship between the black-masked you and I was determined by fate, then the incidents I’ve encountered up until now were not by chance but by necessity, aren’t they? No, it must be so.

Does that mean I’m going to be involved in some sort of incident again in the near future?

“What’s up, Sufia? If you have a problem, why don’t you talk to me about it?”

“Ha? Impossible. Take one reality check after looking in the mirror and then sleep on it.”
