Chapter 24 - Absolute Trash
Jackson was huffing in anger just remembering what happened to Ruyi before. Of course, the whole world knows that she had a miscarriage on their accident three years ago. There were three lives lost, not two.
He immediately went to Ruyi's room, and saw that they were still calming her down so he waited patiently. He knew that no man can get near Ruyi when she's having her attack. Soon, th head maid finally calmed down Ruyi.
"U-u-uncle~" Ruyi ran to his uncles arms wanting to be comforted, to feel safe. She hated the fact that 'that' incident still haunts her. She wanted to get over the past but she hadn't made improvements.
Jackson felt his anger rise just sesing how fragile his niece became. He will always guard her from now on. Even coming to the company with her if he needed to.
"Hush, cupcake, hush now... It's alright" Jackson soothed her when he heard tiny footsteps coming towards them.
"Mommy?" A half-awake Jue wobbled towards Ruyi. Seeing as he was about to fall, Ruyi let go of her uncle and caught the unstable, sleepy kid.
"Mommy?" Jue placed his tiny hand on Ruyi's cheeks. "Are you crying? Why?" He wiped away the tears in Ruyi's face.
Ruyi feeling light and relaxed went to the bed and rocked Jue to sleep. "It's nothing baby, mommy just had a bad nightmare" Ruyi said.
"Mommy, did daddy go home?" Jue innocently said. He was yawning and falling even deeper into sleep as Ruyi was rocking him comfortably.
"Yeah, since granma is alone at the house so he went to accompany granma" Ruyi said a lie to Jue. As much as she hated him to the core, she doesn't want to disillusion the child against his father.
"Hmm..." Jue hummed before completely falling asleep and nuzzling in ruyi's neck.
Seeing as everything was alright, Butler Yin, the head maid and several staffs went back to do their own business or just simply went back to rest for the day. Jackson and Ruyi with a sleeping child are left in the room.
"That man is trash!!! Absolutely trash!!! Thank God these children are angels. Hope they don't end up like their bastard father!" Jackson was raging inside but managed to cool it down to avoid scaring the child.
"Ruyi, I should go with you to the company tomorrow, help you if you need, and I won't take no for an answer. Who knows what devil will come tomorrow?" Jackson was firm in his decision to shield Ruyi.
Although Ruyi didn't want to burden his uncle. She knows that with him present there, she won't be scared when he tries to come. So she nodded and then send off her uncle to his room and finally taking a rest in the children's room so that Yue won't be upset when she wakes up and see she was alone.

Meanwhile in a car outside the residence of the Chens, a man was punching the steering wheel in anger.
"Why did I do that..." Renji was wallowing in regrets and anger at himself for loosing himself like that. He remembered that incident that scarred Ruyi for life.
