Thirtieth day: To divorce or not to divorce? (2)

He thought that she was happy with his presence in “On Screen,” and she only withdrew to avoid suspicion. Then, after a while, she would obediently come back to him and would beg him to nullify their divorce agreement.

But instead, she gave him one surprise after another. Not only did she have CP fans, but also had male fans with terrible fighting power, scaring a lot of people.

He put aside his pride and self-esteem all these years, and despite the pressure from all sides, chose to participate in, “Whose Baby?” under the guise of a child’s request. He took the initiative to make connections.

When she called him, he thought that it was just like before, and she would ask to be together with him again. Arrogantly, he prepared ahead about the lines he would say to her; he would be condescending but would still be willing to accept getting back together.

Contrary to his expectations, Liang Yan asked  when they were going to collect their divorce certificate.

Damn it, Liang Yan.

Lu Lincheng gritted his teeth.

She had amnesia, and he was the only one forgotten!

——

Liang Yan stood outside the door, she touched her hair, and then rang the doorbell.

No one came to open the door immediately, so out of boredom, Liang Yan put her finger on the fingerprint lock on the door.

With a click, the door opened.

Liang Yan stared at Lu Lincheng who came over to open the door.

Their eyes met.

It was so awkward; she felt like there was nowhere to place her hand that unlocked the door.

They were no longer married, divorced, to be exact, and the house was even his, but Lu Lincheng didn’t even care to delete her fingerprint information?

At first glance, she could figure out that his security awareness was too poor. It was a miracle that no thieves came to steal from him.

Liang Yan smiled awkwardly as she entered his house.

She came here to pick up Lu Lincheng to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau with her.

In fact, they could just set a time and meet at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau, but she took the initiative to pick up Lu Lincheng because she didn’t know what had happened. When she talked about their divorce  that time in the hospital, she felt like she was begging him. Since she was asking for a favor, it was only natural for her to show sincerity, so she did the most basic thing: pick him up in person.

Liang Yan took out another bag from behind her and asked, “Did you have your breakfast? I brought you some.”

Lu Lincheng stared at the bag in Liang Yan’s hand, thinking that she still cared that he hadn’t eaten his breakfast, but when she remembered her purpose for coming here, his expression became cold. “No need.”

“Okay,” Liang Yan responded and put down the breakfast she had bought. The atmosphere was tense, and she didn’t find anything to talk about other than breakfast.

Having said that, Liang Yan bit her lip, inhaled deeply, and cut to the chase, “Are you ready for the formalities?”

“Don’t forget the divorce agreement. If there’s nothing else, let’s leave.”

Lu Lincheng glanced at Liang Yan, then looked away immediately. Unnaturally, he said, “The agreement can’t be taken out.”

Liang Yan: “What?”

Lu Lincheng still avoided her gaze and said in a freezing tone, “I lost the key of the drawer where I placed the divorce agreement.”

Liang Yan: "…………"

Both of them remained silent for a while.

Liang Yan couldn’t help it, and broke the silence first, “You really lost the key? Why don’t you call the locksmith company now?”

Lu Lincheng was still silent.

Liang Yan scratched her head frantically. “Can I take a look at the drawer? Which drawer is it?”

Lu Lincheng brought her to the study where the agreement was locked in a cabinet.

She pulled the handle to open it, but she couldn’t move it because of the lock.

Liang Yan gazed at the most reasonable man beside her who lost the key and refused to call the locksmith company to open the drawer.

What atrocity did she commit back then that she married this hypocritical man? Liang Yan squatted on the floor, checked out the keyhole carefully, then, she took off the steel clip on her hair. She bit it, and forcefully straightened the “U” shaped hair clip.

Lu Lincheng frowned and asked in confusion, “What are you doing?”

Liang Yan inserted the broken clip into the keyhole, then placed her ear  against the lock and fiddled with it using the clip. “I’ll try to open the lock.”

“You…” Lu Lincheng’s eyes opened widely as he looked at her in utter disbelief. “You can do this, too?”

“I’m trying.” Giving it all her attention, Liang Yan opened the lock. “When I was  a child, I used this method to open the drawer at home when I couldn’t open it.”

As soon as she finished speaking, the lock rang softly.

Facts have proven that the quality of the lock that came with the drawer was just average. Liang Yan opened the cabinet in surprise, and as if showing off her lock-picking skills, she said, “What do you think?”

The divorce papers were inside, organized.

She cheerfully took it out.

Behind her, Lu Lincheng’s face was as black as a pool of stagnant water.

“Liang Yan…” Lu Lincheng’s fists clenched, and his whole body was covered in a gloomy aura. For so long, he had been holding back. Finally, he couldn’t help but ask, “Do you really want to divorce me that much?” After you lose your memory.

Liang Yan smiled, grabbed the agreement, and turned to Lu Lincheng with a bad expression.

Involuntarily, she took two steps back, and her body was pressed against the edge of the desk.

Liang Yan closely held the agreement in front of her chest, as if protecting it. She was a little scared.

“You… you don’t want to?”
