CH 9

Lin Qianshuang, who was pressed on the ground by Han Shengyao, felt uneasy from the intimidating and oppressive aura coming from the throne.

The gaze of the demon emperor felt like a sharp knife, threatening to tear her into four pieces.

She felt a faint sense of crisis.

She had a premonition where, as soon as she stood before him, there was a high possibility of being slapped to death by him.

Han Shengyao's eyes lingered on the sight of the Demon Emperor for a few seconds. The hand used to press on Lin Qianshuang's head slowly lowered.

"Go."

The indifferent command sounded in her ears without a question.

Lin Qianshuang looked between Han Shengyao, who was slowly turning fierce, and the Demon Emperor on the throne, whose body was surrounded by a brewing storm. She immediately realized with fear that these two people were fighting in secret.

Han Shengyao instructed her to go in front of the Demon Emperor, so she had no reason to refuse, and it was also her problem......

Even if there was a chance that she might die.

The terrifying sight of the Demon Emperor, whose look could kill, made Lin Qianshuang apprehensive. She braced herself and jumped on the steps, walked to the throne, and sat down.

The Demon Emperor quickly lifted his hand and grabbed her by the neck, strangling her as he raised her in the air.

Lin Qianshuang suffocated, and just as she felt like she was about to die, he let her go.

His eyes held a look of incomprehension, gazing at her strangely.

"You're a female beast."1

Lin Qianshuang, who had almost choked to death, was desperately gasping for air while paying attention to the expression on the Demon Emperor's face. His originally murderous aura vanished, and his line of sight retracted from her and shifted to Han Shengyao's kneeling form. The corners of her mouth had curled up to an indiscernible smile.

"Han Shengyao is the Sage who belongs to the Demon Realm in both mind and body. Neither this deity, nor can any other man, defile or possess her." (1)1

The Demon Emperor was transmitting his voice to Lin Qianshuang through her sea of divine consciousness. He stored away the murderous aura that had flooded his entire body, and placed a hand on her skull with the intention to deal a fatal blow.

His gaze pierced through her body as he warned her in a threatening tone, "Be glad that you're a female beast, and a beautiful one at that. Otherwise, this deity would have killed you on the spot."

She was heavily thrown to the ground, rolling towards Han Shengyao.

Her body felt sore all over, but great waves were surging in her heart.

The Demon Emperor observed Han Shengyao with undisguised jealousy in his eyes, he was actually possessive of her.1

Lin Qianshuang saw everything clearly.

The Demon Emperor himself didn't notice, but to onlookers, it was clear. An alarm sounded in Lin Qianshuang's heart when she realized that he had feelings for Han Shengyao.6

It's just that this kind of sentiment was wrapped up by many factors of interest, causing him to be unable to realize his true feelings.

She combined the interactions between the two people in the original novel to a plot development, and she very distinctly saw where their love was heading to(2). It wasn't an unrequited love, but a two-way love filled with abuse.

Lin Qianshuang's heart felt a little heavy, spreading with an indescribable emotion.

When Han Shengyao told her to go to the Demon Emperor, she probably didn't even think about her life and death at all. Perhaps she instinctively wanted to provoke the other party, using her identity as her official disciple, to attract the Demon Emperor's attention and highlight her position in his heart right in front of Bai Wan.

This is their everyday interaction filled with emotions. In the world regarding their relationship, she was just an insignificant little cannon fodder.

Lin Qianshuang felt a bad taste in her mouth, and her heart slightly sank.

She looked over at Han Shengyao, examining her behaviour.

Since the moment she was strangled by the Demon Emperor, her life and death uncertain, Han Shengyao's eyes never fell on her. Instead, she was focused on Bai Wan's face beside the Demon Emperor.

After seeing her unpleasant expression, Han Shengyao curled the corners of her mouth happily on her indifferent face.

Lin Qianshuang decisively made her judgement.

Right now, she should only be considered as a chess piece in Han Shengyao's heart.2

From receiving the mission strategy arranged by the system, to thoroughly sorting out the relationship between these people, for the first time, Lin Qianshuang felt that the system's mission was very difficult.

She underestimated Han Shengyao's affection for the Demon Emperor and despised her cold heart.

She deluded herself into thinking that Han Shengyao cared for her, even if only a little bit, from the several times they warmly got along as master and disciple. It seems that she had been overthinking.

Lin Qianshuang had a headache and rubbed her temples.1

If she wasn't somewhat useful and could assist in getting rid of Bai Wan, Han Shengyao would not have kept her by her side.

Bai Wan became a little anxious when she saw that the Demon Emperor hadn't issued a punishment to Lin Qianshuang for a long time. She rubbed his chest in a spoiled manner, seeming to urge him.

"If you offend my beloved, you'll be punished with 300 strokes of the whip. But since you are the Sage's official disciple, you'll be punished with 100 strokes instead."

He wrapped his arm around Bai Wan and ordered Han Shengyao, "Sage, this is your disciple, so it's up to you to teach it a good lesson."

Han Shengyao stood up, took the thick whip handed to her by the attendant, and ruthlessly smacked the little beast in succession with a strong force. Despite her indifferent appearance, her heart ached as the little beast wailed and its flesh cracked.

She knew that the more she showed concern for her disciple, the more detrimental it would be to her plans and her disciple's growth. With the Demon Emperor's nature, he would never let her disciple go off lightly. Bai Wan was also paying attention to her disciple, and if she noticed her concern for it, her disciple would inevitably be targeted in the future.3

The look in Han Shengyao's eyes was slightly grave. She held the whip with an incredibly tight grip on its thorny surface, causing blood to ooze out from between her fingers.

The whip fell on Lin Qianshuang at once.

The pain in her body caused Lin Qianshuang to grit her teeth in agony, and her face twisted to distortion. As the blood stains on her body increased, she slowly grew accustomed to the pain and felt numb.2

She was a little sad in her heart. With her current condition, she was afraid that she couldn't even last until 60 strokes before she's whipped to death.

The 50th stroke quickly fell, and the person who whipped her suddenly dropped to their knees by her side.

Lin Qianshuang looked hazily over at Han Shengyao with uncontrollable tears in her eyes. A searing pain came from her soft limbs. She wished to get up, but her body couldn't stop trembling, nor could she move.

Han Shengyao coldly glanced at the unbearable sight of the silvery white little beast's body. She kneeled and offered the bloody whip to the Demon Emperor's hands, her eyelashes dropped slightly to hide the look in her eyes.

"Shuang'er is, after all, still my official disciple. I'm also responsible for her crimes. If word about her being whipped to death in the Demon Palace gets out, it wouldn't be pleasant. But if your majesty is still angry, please do it yourself."

The Demon Emperor looked at the beautiful silvery white pelt of the little beast soaked with the frightening sight of blood. Its azure blue eyes, which were extremely alluring at a glance, were dripping with crystal clear tears. He couldn't help but move his throat a little, subconsciously swallowing a mouthful of saliva.1

He always liked and had a soft spot for attractive women. Her beast form alone was enough to look like a tragic beauty and make him feel weak. Her human form was bound to be a feast for the eyes. (3)4

Han Shengyao looked at the small expression on his face and the movements of his throat. She roughly knew what he was thinking about and a trace of irony flashed through her eyes.1

The Demon Emperor no longer wanted to kill the little beast, but he had to keep up with appearances. He said to Han Shengyao in a dignified tone, "Sage, this deity thinks of her as your official disciple. It would be a shameful matter for you if she were to die here. Now that she's been punished well, you may take her away."

Bai Wan felt a little relieved when she saw Han Shengyao hitting Lin Qianshuang to the point of death with a ferocious hand. She didn't really intend to kill that little beast, after all, it is the Sage's own disciple. With such an identity, even the Demon Emperor will have to give some face.

"Many thanks, your majesty."

Han Shengyao kneeled and thanked him. Then, she carried Lin Qianshuang from the ground and cast a complicated look at the Demon Emperor as she walked out of the hall.

At the corner of the corridor, Bai Wan did not have the usual delicate appearance she used when she's in front of the Demon Emperor. Instead, she stood there with folded arms and a leisurely expression.1

Han Shengyao's eyebrows knitted, and the hand holding Lin Qianshuang tightened, saying, "What are you doing here, not accompanying your Demon Emperor? Aren't you afraid of being thrown into the river to taste its coldness again if you stand in my way?"

"You're so fortunate. Yesterday, those people I sent suffered, but nothing happened to you."1

Bai Wan said as she approached Han Shengyao with her eyes fixed on the dying Lin Qianshuang in her arms.

She was just about to touch the little beast's furry ears when her hand was fiercely slapped away by Han Shengyao.

"Don't touch my disciple with your dirty hands."

Han Shengyao's eyes grazed her body like shards of ice. A mass of demonic energy suddenly formed before instantly vanishing at the same time.

Bai Wan was stunned for a moment, her hand still frozen mid-air.

She placed down her hand as she thought of something, and her eyes were filled with hatred, "Han Shengyao, one day, I will smash your bones and tear you into pieces."1

At the mouth of the spiritual pool, two people stood intimately next to each other.

Standing behind Lin Qianshuang, Han Shengyao drew the spiritual energy from the spring to form a ball of flowing water on her hand, gently covering Lin Qianshuang's back. The various horizontal and vertical wounds on her white back gradually recovered with skin, good as new, after the water coursed through, leaving no traces of scars.

Lin Qianshuang touched the smooth skin on her originally scratched arm, thinking about how effective the spiritual pool was. When suddenly, a pair of hands snaked past her waist, fixing her firmly to the wall of the spring.

Han Shengyao lazily raised her eyes as she turned her around. Reflected within her eyes, was the bewildered look on Lin Qianshuang's face.

"Shuang'er, are you blaming me for being so hard on you?"

Seeming to be dissatisfied with her dull look, Han Shengyao clenched her shoulder tightly, forcing Lin Qianshuang to face her head on and said word by word, "If I didn't punish you harshly at that time, they wouldn't of spared you, do you understand?"

"Master is always thinking of this disciple. If not for master's rescue, I would have died."

Lin Qianshuang said respectfully, intentionally or unintentionally distancing herself from Han Shengyao.

Han Shengyao slightly frowned. She was a little puzzled by Lin Qianshuang's estrangement. Didn't they say that young demon beasts are very clingy, enthusiastic, and especially loyal to their masters? Why is it that when she approaches her disciple, she is very unhappy instead?2

Despite her blank face, Lin Qianshuang was thinking about how to reverse Han Shengyao's beliefs so that she would completely and utterly cut off all her thoughts of the Demon Emperor and push her to sit on his throne.

The only difficulty was that Han Shengyao's love for the Demon Emperor surpassed what she had imagined. She seemed to firmly support his position as the Demon Emperor.

[Host, isn't it very simple. As long as you replace the Demon Emperor, everything will be fine.]

The system suddenly spoke up and said.

A light bulb flashed in Lin Qianshuang's head. That's right, if she became the Demon Emperor, she wouldn't have to be afraid of anything. If Han Shengyao loves the Demon Emperor, then she will abolish his cultivation and send him to her as a disciple (Oh, not as a male pet), no problem.1

The system was dumbfounded as it listened to Lin Qianshuang's thoughts, [Host, wait, you misunderstood......] This system meant that you should replace the Demon Emperor in Han Shengyao's heart ah!!!14

What the hell are you thinking!

Lin Qianshuang was immediately fired up, full of enthusiasm for the goal she had set. Han Shengyao wanted to train her to become the Demon Empress, but she didn't want to!

Her goal is! To become the Demon Emperor!

Han Shengyao looked into Lin Qianshuang's eyes, which seemed to contain bad ideas. There was a bright smile on her clear and lovely face. Her dimples were very beautiful.

She reached out her hand and pinched her face.

Han Shengyao was a little puzzled by her own actions, but she didn't bother to think about it. She lifted her wet hair behind her shoulders in a lazy manner, and said to the person in the water,

"Go ashore and change your clothes."

Lin Qianshuang returned to her senses from the subtle pain on her face. Han Shengyao had already stepped onto the shore and dried her long hair with her demonic energy. Differing from her habit of wearing red clothes, she changed into a simple and elegant dress.

From her perspective, the blue brocade dress outlined Han Shengyao's graceful back in the daytime. Her black hair was lightly tied with a pale red silk ribbon that fell along her white delicate neck and hung down her shoulders. She had purple phoenix ornaments pinned to the hair over her ears. Whenever she walked around, the tassels touched the brocade beads(4), making her look quite fascinating.

She really lives up to her reputation as the number one beauty of the Demon Realm. No matter how plain the clothes are, she can still give off a different flavor of beauty.

Lin Qianshuang sighed in admiration.

Han Shengyao slightly turned her head to look at Lin Qianshuang. Although her makeup was light, her gorgeous face still radiated with brilliance. Her plain clothes could not hide the captivating charm of her demonic nature.

"Shuang'er, I'll wait for you outside."

Lin Qianshuang was simply admiring Han Shengyao's elegant demeanor, comparing her to the goddess she once liked, who was dressed in ancient clothes in a drama. She lamented, feeling that she was born in the wrong world. Otherwise, if the drama had starred Han Shengyao, she would have become a hot star in a few years.

Watching her walk away, Lin Qianshuang just remembered that she had to go to Yixiang establishment with Han Shengyao to pay a visit to the fallen demon, Du Shuang, in the afternoon.

Her eyes lit up at the thought of Du Shuang being able to help her build her foundation. She climbed out of the spiritual pool and casually wiped her body. She wore the clothes, which were placed on the side, and caught up to Han Shengyao.
