As soon as the guards moved to apprehend Kanae, a horde of skeletons came to his defense. Edina and Arenade put themselves in front of him with their own spells at the ready.
"Resisting only further adds credence to your guilt," the female elven mage said.
"More like you're full of shit. There's no way you can know if Kanae's a succubus, and there's no way in three hells we're letting you take her!" Edina growled.
"Yeah! Where's your proof? How do we know you're not a demon? Huh?" Arenade sassed the guards back.
Touched by his party's actions, Kanae felt a pang of guilt tug at his heart. He had no idea what caused them to suspect he was a succubus, but if the jig was up and there was no way out of this, then the least he could do to save Edina and Arenade was to pretend he had them charmed. That way, neither of them would be charged for aiding a succubus.
"We have proof," one of the guards said.
The other pointed directly at Kanae and exclaimed, "You're being accused as a succubus because of how much you sleep around!"
"Eh?!" Everyone in the adventurer's hall uttered at once.
Kanae was quickly turning red in the face. From many of the men came hard stares that burned into him.
"Th-That's not a good enough reason! I…" Kanae chewed on his lower lip. "I just like having sex!"
The outburst only served to draw a different, more lascivious stares from people in the hall. Even his two party members turned around and made a face at him.
A bunch of footsteps clamored downstairs. The adventurers, still in a state of undress, that Kanae had sex with last night came tumbling down.
"She's not a succubus!"
"Yeah! But she might as well be!"
"Kanae's just a horny woman!"
"There's nothing wrong with being a slut!"
They said all sorts of embarrassing things, thinking it would support Kanae's case.

"That's enough!" the elf shouted in a commanding voice, silencing the peanut gallery. "Kanae has only been accused. She shall stand trial to determine her guilt or innocence. I urge you to come quietly."
If a fight were to break out, then it would hurt Arenade and Edina's reputation. Those two have been too good to him, and he didn't want them to suffer any mistakes he had made.
"Fine. I'll go," Kanae said.
"What?!" Both of his party members whipped around, their faces filled with astonishment.
"You can't," Edina said. "I won't let them take you!"
"Who's going to help me defeat the demon lord?" Arenade cried, shaking his shoulders.
"It's not a foregone conclusion. I'm going to go prove my innocence." He winked.
Edina was the first to relent by unsummoning her undead minions. Arenade was more reluctant to let him go, but after gazing into each other's eyes, she finally backed away. Without his friends in the way, Kanae turned himself into the authorities and had cuffs put onto his wrists.
"We'll find a way to get you out from our end, too!" Edina raced out of the hall as he was being led into a carriage. "You're not leaving us that easily!"
Kanae sat uncomfortably between both guards, who wore heavy plate armor. Sitting across from him was the elven mage, staring hard at him as if peering into his soul. Everything would be alright. Once let out, all he needed to do was charm the right people.
However, he became unsettled when the carriage rode past the city guard's barracks where the dungeons were and out of Orturic.
"Am I not being locked up?" Kanae asked.
No one answered. He saw a sigil on the mage's wrists and thought against trying to charm his way out of this situation. Waiting for an opportunity was his best bet.
They eventually arrived at a manor in the outskirts of Orturic and pulled up in front of a fountain encircled by a stone promenade, of which was framed by arching bushes and waist-high walls of shrubberies. Two beautiful and colorful orchards beset both sides of the manor itself where harpy workers were picking fruits into baskets.
Kanae was led out of the carriage and up the steps to the three-story manor. A finely dressed human butler opened the door for them, revealing a cozy yet extravagant interior. The vestibule was directly in front of a large set of stairs, and at the very top was a portly man a few years over his prime. He wore a blue and gold garb that was befitting someone of noble status.
"Is this the succubus?" the man asked.
"Yes, Duke Kroenig," the guards answered together.
This man was the duke? Kanae was in more danger than he thought. However, just like with the mayor of Orturic, he only needed to find an opportunity to be alone with him, then let the charm spell work its magic.
"I think you might have made a mistake," Kanae said. "I'm not a succubus. I swear!"
The elven mage walked to the front of Kanae and scoffed. "There's no point in hiding it. Greater Dispel!"
A wave of magic undid Kanae's Human Form, and his succubus features were in full view for all to see. Those who were around us, the guards and servants, gasped at the sight of him. The jig really was up, and now he was panicking. The only way to keep his identity hidden would be to charm the entire manor. His entire life in Orturic, possibly everywhere, was ruined.
"How exquisite…" Duke Kroenig breathed heavily that caused Kanae to shiver. "Bring her to my room."
Kanae was made to follow them upstairs until they reached a grand bedchamber. After which the guards removed his restraints and shut the door to leave them alone.
"Now, my sweet… We are finally alone…" The duke rubbed his hands together and licked his lips.
Oh, no, Kanae thought.
This was turning into one of those cliches. Duke Kroenig was an ugly bastard that was going to have his way with him.
Kanae gulped hard. His throat became especially parched even though his mouth salivated immensely. It was just like working at the adult store all over again, surrounded by strange men who lusted after him.
No! Now wasn't the time to be seduced by tropes.

Although Kanae was drawn to all the fashionable clothing, a prick in the back of his head sent him recoiling. It was one thing for him to dress as a girl, but the image of Duke Kroenig dressed in any of these made him want to vomit.
