Chapter 132 - Ms. Feng

It was great that they were all going to train together. Feng Xuan had been right. They had to build a bond with each other. They had to know how to move together so as not to overstep when they were already in a real life situation. After all, all these training were to be able to fend off their enemies.

But after they had agreed with the terms and conditions, Master had pointed to Qing Chen and Feng Xuan and said the most atrocious thing, "You can't tell the others that you two are married. We don't want any dramas here. They were pulled out of the society months ago and had not known anything from the 'outside world'."

Feng Xuan's eyes widened. "You have got to be kidding me."

"You should act as friends. I don't want my future assassins wishing for a love story—if that happens, there would be no more left to do contract killings in this world."

Qing Lok was sulking while they walk to the dormitories. His arms crossed on his chest, glaring at everything. He tried to fight the decision back at the office. "You both can stay, but I'm going home."

"It's a majority vote, you can't leave," said Master.

It was because of that stupid ants that entered his clothes. He could still feel their tiny feet on his skin and he shivered. If only he had not moved maybe they would be on their way home now.

The brothers were placed on the fourth floor, above the girl's floor. Qing Lok was baffled with the small bedroom. His bathroom was ten times bigger than this. How was he supposed to sleep in a confined space?

He itched to get his phone from his pocket, but it had been confiscated by Master earlier. His hands had never felt more empty. What on earth was he supposed to do here? Stare at the wall? Count to a million?

Feng Xuan spoke from beside him. "Don't be so overwhelmed. You're going to have a lot of activities here. You won't even miss your phone."

He only pouted and trudged inside.

Wuming had never felt more at home at the facility. The fresh air, the sound of the trees swaying, the uncomfortable bed, and the thin pillow and blankets? He was all in it. He happily got inside the small bedroom and plopped down. The window was directly above his bed. He picked up the pillow and put it on the other end before laying back down.

He could see the orange of the sky. The sun was setting. Later, the moon would come and greet him.

Yep, this was perfect.

"Here's you," said Feng Xuan to Qing Chen.

"I expect we'll be doing all the cleaning and cooking?" he asked and opened the closet. He found pairs of training clothes and shoes inside. He had lived a life of luxury but he was never one to complain about such things. As long as he had a clean place to sleep and rest he was good for it.

"Could be, but I think you'll be in a better training program. I have a lot to catch up on." She found that she was not ashamed of admitting in the fields that she was still lacking in at her husband. Well, what was the worst he could do? Divorce her? Nah.

"You'll get there. Maybe he'll make you stay longer after the three months. You should take all the time that you need."

Feng Xuan stepped inside Qing Chen's bedroom. "Does your finger feel empty?"

The Master had asked Qing Chen to surrender his wedding ring. He flexed his fingers. "Yeah, it actually does."

Feng Xuan bit her lips. "I am sorry. I didn't know Master was going to make that decision."

"It's okay," Qing Chen smiled at her. "You'll feel like a free woman in here."

"It was not like you've put me in prison."

Qing Chen sat at the edge of his table. "At least, you will get to tell people you are single. You're about to know how much of a catch you are."

Feng Xuan grinned. "I already know that. You would not have married me if I wasn't."

Qing Chen shook his head and reached to touch her hair. "I would've married you no matter what you looked like. It's called duty."

Feng Xuan made a sound like a snort. She took Qing Chen's face in between her fingers. "If you say so." She kissed his cheek.

Qing Chen felt like his heart had stopped beating for a second. Feng Xuan had kissed him like that when she was saying good bye to him in her closet.

"Did you miss me that much?" she whispered to him now.

On another occasion, he would've taken her hand off him and tell her it was not the time and place for it. But he had missed her terribly. Instead his eyes softened at her bright ones. "I did."

Feng Xuan's lips widened some more. "That's great." She closed the distance between them and it was as if everything else slowed down. He was waiting for it, her kiss.

When they were a breath away, Feng Xuan suddenly stepped back. Her heat gone in a split second. She laughed at his stunned face and patted his cheek. "I'll see you at dinner."

Qing Chen let out a half groan then chuckled. "See you, Ms. Feng."

Her eyebrows knitted together but there was a smile on her lips. "It's Mrs. Qing."

The brother's had settled themselves in their bedrooms and changed their clothes. On the table they found a small notebook. It was a journal to keep yourself occupied in the empty hours and to track the days that passed by, much like when they younger. Qing Lok had used it as an extra padding to his pillow. The older brothers were looking forward in writing their first entry.

Their training began that night.
