CH 30.1

What a mighty new blood!

He actually beat a powerful pureblood to the ground!

There was uproar in the audience; all of them couldn’t believe their eyes.

The most shocked amongst them was Shears. He could not imagine that an ordinary bloodclan would have such stregnth. One must know that his ability was at least in the top three of the purebloods.

Even Lorren couldn’t crush him like this.

Unless… it was His Majesty.

But … how could a bloodkin transformed from a human being have the power equal to that of a royal family?

Impossible!

However, defeating Sears was obviously not Lu Li’s goal. He didn’t lower his strength at all but instead raised his hands with great force.

Once this attack fell, Shears would surely die.

But Shears cannot die.

Although the one with the ability would reign in the competition field, Shears was a rare pureblood. His death would be a huge loss for the entire blood race; so even if it he was “legally” killed, it would still cause a public outrage.

Xie Jianwei had been a vampire for many years, and he was naturally aware of the hidden dangers afterwards, so he said: “Ah-Li, don’t overdo it.”

His voice wasn’t very loud- some bloodclan standing far away could not hear what he said, but Lu Li did.

Lu Li’s attack, which had been fatal enough, was greatly reduced. Although it still hit Shears, it wasn’t enough to take his life and only maimed him.

The battle was over with a visible outcome, and only Xie Jianwei’s applause could be heard. Others were too surprised, or a little disgruntled. After all, Shears was still a prestigious count – they felt somewhat dissatisfied that he was beaten up by a newcomer. But Lu Li didn’t care about it at all. He only wanted to see that person, he would only listen to him alone. As long as he had him, everything was enough.

Lu Li walked down from the field. Xie Jianwei smiled at him, “Awesome.”

Lu Li leaned over and kissed his lips.

Xie Jianwei did not refuse, and took the initiative to send himself up.

After becoming a bloodkin, Lu Li’s body changed a lot – his weak body became stronger. His arms, shoulders, chest, abdomen, and straight legs were all restored to the strength of a general who had been fighting in the field for years. .

So, Xie Jianwei now had to raise his head to kiss him properly. In this way, no one cares about the show of love.

Lorren cleared his throat.

Just kiss since you have the ability to fight in the field! Dare not? Then don’t stuff us with dog food! We refuse to eat it!

The two people who were entangled with each other finally separated.

Lorren pretended that he did not see the sweet pink bubble between the two and said: “You’re good, kid.”

Lu Li smiled at him.

In fact, Lorren’s handsfelt itchy – he wanted to have a spar with Lu Li, but he was embarrassed to speak about it.

The main reason was that Lorren was very clear about Shears’ level since he was part of the council. Although Shears’ability was worse than him … Well, not by much… Anyway, if he strikes the other, he definitely would not be able to reduce Shears to such a sorry state.

So if he exchange some blows with Lu Li now, he may be beaten into a pig-like state by the latter.

‘Two pureblood Counts were beaten down by a new vampire’ – this news would be enough for humans to laugh for a hundred years.

Forget it, I’ll wait for a time to make an appointment in private.

Although Lorren’s mind was full of such thoughts, his mouth did not stop talking: “You’ve won the match- it stands to reason that you’ll be titled as a new Count, but His Majesty is currently asleep thus, the granting ceremony will be suspended; On other matters though, we can help you deal with it.”

Lu Li Dao: “Thank you for the trouble.”

Without waiting for Lorren to answer, Xie Jianwei said: “You are welcome, they are all my people,.”

Lorren: ”…” This shameless guy.

However, he did not expect that his best friend could be even more shameless. Xie Jianwei looked at him and said: “Today, such a good day, Lorren please treat us to celebrate.”

Lorren:”…” Why me!

However, Lorren could not refuse the pureblood Count, so he gritted his teeth and said: “Good!”

Forced Laozi again and I’ll take you to the Hall of Blood Shine!

Of course, Count Lorren just talked about it in his heart – if he really took them to that promiscuous place, this Xie Jianwei … ah no, Lu Li would slap him to death.

Lorren chose the little bar that Xie Jianwei used to visit.

It was the quiet bar opened by the sentimental owner who guarded his human fiercely after their first embrace.

The shop’s two bosses were idle, so both of them made drinks for the newly arrived group-of-three.

Xie Jianwei was very interested in them: “How long have you been together?”

The little boss said,”Hm.. More than fifty years?”

The big boss glanced at him and said, “Fifty eight years and seven months.” as he laughed with his face full of sweetness.

Xie Jianwei was quite envious, “You’ve been with each other for so long.”

After Xie Jianwei said so, Lu Li took his hand and whispered “We will always be together.”

Xie Jianwei turned to look at him: “Of course.”

Looking at the two couples, Lorren felt as if he himself was of a different species.

Oh… what’s the term for this kind of species? – a single dog?

What kind of abuse is this!

The three had a pleasant meal and they were quite satisfied.

Lu Li and Xie Jianwei left together, and Lorren went to find a sexy beauty to have a fun night.

*********

Because he defeated Shears, Lu Li had completely established himself within the bloodclan.

Shears had been a Count for many years; so naturally, those who followed him would not give up easily. After all, ‘Count’ is only a title – only those with real power would have the last word.

If Lu Li hadno background, even if he managed to win a victory in the match, he wouldn’t be able to utilize it. Unfortunately for those people, he had some backer – Xie Jianwei and Loren- these two were enough to pave him a grand avenue.

“Lu Li is quite ambitious this time.” Xie Jianwei was somewhat surprised of LuLi’s actions these days.

Lu Li still spent a lot of time with him, but Xie Jianwei also knew what he was doing. He was constantly expanding his power, invading the power center of the blood race and doing things that no new vampire would dare to think about.

Xie Jianwei didn’t do anything actively, and only helped him in the dark.

Lu Li had enough strength and sufficient background, but his origin was not very good, so Xie Jianwei helped him guide the public opinion. This matter was also easy to handle. After all, the majority of the bloodclan are ordinary vampires. One of the reasons why the pureblood group had been in charge for many years was because of power suppression. And now, Lu Li has crossed what ordinary bloodkins consider as an insurmountable wall, which definitely caused a sensation.

Why does the new blood kin have to be inferior?

Why shouldordinary vampiresrefrain from obtaining power?

Why must the entire blood race have to be controlled by the pureblood?

The emergence of Lu Li triggered a revolution within the entire blood race. And as long as this kind of change becomes a success, it would last through ages and would be recorded in the history.

Since the beginning, the changeof dynasties and shift of powers had always been inconceivable–just like the collapse of the Galactic Federation and the rise of the Empire in their real world.

“I feel that I am witnessing the Marshal’s greatness all over again.” Said Yan Ke as he chatted with Xie Jianwei.

“Things were much harder in reality than this dream.”

“Of course – after all, the situation was different.” Yan Ke replied.

In reality, there were internal and external problems. At that time, Lu Li’s army was like a black horse. It was born out of nowhere, and it was invincible. It brought surprises to the humans of the Milky Way, and eventually became a legend.

Yan ke was somewhat emotional as he said talked to Xie Jianwei “It’s all thanks to you.”

“I can’t do anything myself.” Xie jianwei replied in a humble manner.

Yan Ke paused as he thought of something and suddenly asked: “My Lord … Why did you choose to assist Lord Marshal?”

Xie Jian smiled, “Love at first sight.”

Yan Ke: “…”

“I like Lu Li, so I wanted to give him a wider and greater world.”

Yan Ke blinked and also smiled: “In fact, there were many who felt that … um … you did it for revenge.”

“Revenge?” Xie Jianwei laughed and asked “Revenge for what?”

Yan Ke did not dare to say the two words – for the Xie Family.

Not hearing Yan Ke’s answer, Xie Jianwei could only sigh, “I’m afraid that even Lu Li felt that I helped him during that time just for revenge.”

Yan Ke whispered, “You didn’t tell him?”

Xie Jianwei said: “I didn’t want to mention what happened in the past during those chaotic times. I wanted to wait for the right moment to mention it to him, but eventually a long time had passed and I felt that I’m not interested on discussing those boring matters again.”

Yan Ke asked again “So until now, you’ve never talked about it with him? “

“I did. I said it after the establishment of the empire.”

Yan Ke froze, and an understanding dawned on him, “The Lord Marshal didn’t believe it?”

Lu Li didn’t exactly say so, but what about in his heart? If he really believed him, why did Lu Li felt so uneasy in his dreams?

Xie Jianwei confessed, “Some things, if you missed the right time to say it, would lose its effect.”

But the best time was the bloodiest time for Xie Jianwei. He didn’t want to mention his past at all at that moment.

******

Several years passed by in the blink of an eye.

But during those years, the blood race was almost turned upside down.

During Lu Li’s rule, more ordinary bloodclan members were given a chance to rise. While it’s true that their strength couldn’t be compared to that of pureblood, but in many other aspects, they were good enough.

Xie Jianwei supported Lu Li, and he knew that the vital point that could really bring about the change of the entire blood race was to allow ordinary bloodlines to evolve.

—Studies in biological evolution and development had always been one of  Xie Jianwei’s strengths.

If he wanted to do it conscientiously, he could do even do things that would allow the bloodclan to reproduce. But that would make this ‘world’ lose its balance, so he won’t do it.

Nevertheless, some proper research could be done. He did all these in the name of Lu Li, so he indirectly helped him gather more “people’s hearts”.

Everything was developing in a step-by-step manner – following this progress, perhaps, the first leader of the ordinary vampires will be born.

After all, the Bloodclan King had been sleeping for a long time, and Lu Li’s prestige held more weight as time passed by.  Even though most of the purebloods did not recognize him, the ordinary blood kins counted most of the entire blood race population, so he did not have to worry about the number of people not supporting him.

Even if he was not the King, he was actually the person in power.Xie Jianwei thought that there’s no need to hurry, since a near-hundred-years was enough to communicate with Lu Li, find his knot, and then solve it.

Unfortunately, he had never imagined that in less than five years, the Bloodclan Leader, who should have slept for at least another hundred years had woken up. On the same night of the full moon, when the blood-like tint dyed the moon with a bright red color, everyone knew that their king was back.

*******

Xie Jianwei woke up from a dream. He wasn’t completely conscious yet, when Lorren dragged to the main hall.

When they arrived, Lorren quickly instructed him to follow what the others were doing – all the proud bloodclan inside had their heads lowered, half-kneeling on both sides of the hall. No one dared to look up. They held their breath, each of their faces showing a pious and humble look.

Afterwards, they heard some slow footsteps. It was very light, but like the beat of a drum, it played the opening of a gorgeous music.

Xie Jianwei looked up and saw a man in a black robe.

""

Because the figure was facing against the light, the facial features can’t be seen clearly. All you can see is the slender figure, the long ink-like hair flowing down to the waist, and the fingers that are exposed outside the cuffs.

The man sensed Xie Jianwei’s gaze – he turned his head slightly and looked at him.

As their eyes met, Xie Jianwei felt like he was stung by something and thus quickly bowed his head again.

He was wearing a silver half-mask – his visible eyes were deep scarlet, but even so, Xie Jianwei could still recognize it.

No doubt. It was Lu Li.

But something was a little different … Probably due to the atmosphere around that man.

He was emitting a powerful force that people can’t even look at him directly.

Suddenly, Yan Ke’s voice sounded in Xie Jianwei’s ear: “My God, the Lord Marshal is so handsome!”

He was indeed extremely handsome, but that wasn’t important! The point is … Why isn’t he sleeping peacefully inside his coffin! Why did he wake up so early!

— Almost a hundred years in advance, and no one casted a wake-up spell on him! How was he able to wake up by himself?

Did the newly converted Lu Li do something or was it entirely because of the pureblood Lu Li’s own will that he woke up? The former was very unlikely. If it was the latter, then the matter is over. Xie Jianwei somehow felt uneasy. The last dream resulted to the addition of two more personalities– he couldn’t afford the addition of two more.

The crowd of purebloods voices sounded outloud, overflowing with loyalty and conviction: “Your Majesty is in good health!”

The Bloodclan King had returned to his throne!

The man’s deep voice echoed throughout the hall: “Get up. All of you.”

The purebloods stood up one after another still with their heads bowed, and they remained quiet. The Bloodclan King didn’t say anything, but a pair of red eyes slowly swept across the crowd, and it finally landed on Lorren. He asked Lorren a few things. Lorren reported the several important events within the blood race in the past 100 years in a serious manner.

One hundred years was enough for humans to replace several generations, but that wasn’t the case in the blood race. The changes in the entire century could not be compared to the happenings these past few years after Lu Li became a bloodkin. Of course, LuLi’s deeds could not be considered good for the group people inside the hall, so Lorren had to consider how to mention it.

The Bloodclan Leader just nodded after Lorren’s report. He turned to looked at Xie Jianwei and called “Ah-Wei.”

Xie Jianwei felt his back tighten.

“Come here.”

Xie Jianwei slowly walked up through the steps, then stood in front of him.

The Bloodclan King’s  red eyes flickered, and his voice was tinged with deep thoughts and attachment as he spoke, “Your complexion looks pretty good.”

Xie Jianwei couldn’t say a word.

Lorren was more nervous than he was. He knew Xie Jianwei’s dire state a few years ago. At that time, he had starved himself for a hundred yearsas he refused to consume blood, and was left in a state of constant deprivation.

But now … with Lu Li’s ‘day and night care’, Xie Jianwei of course looked certainly good, like the delicate petals under the rain and dew that people couldn’t help but pick.

But who dares to say those words?

Although the bloodclan could not empathize with the so-called ‘love’, but Xie Jianwei was, after all, His Majesty’s person before….Now that His Majesty is back … and he found that his own man had been taken away by some brat.

Their backs turned cold with such thoughts…

Everyone’s mind was pre-occupied with different notionsand Xie Jianwei was no exception. His brain was already in a mess, but the Bloodclan King suddenly pulled him into his arms. This action was both familiar and intimate, without minding the people around them.

As Xie Jianwei sat on the Leader’s lap, his mood became more and more complicated.

This dream got him feeling somewhat guilty,as if he was cheating!
