Chapter 84 - 84:

"So, on your first day, you met Ed the guild master and his wife, Tracy. then you go on a normal orc elimination quest to the emerald forest where you find a battlefield with 23 people injured people and a valley of destroyed trees." Amari recited my day sitting on a table under a gazebo in the garden with Zagan sitting next to her, who was looking down, shaking his head.

"I wouldn't say it was a valley but close to it," I commented from the other side of the table while taking another sip of my tea out of an ice teacup.

"After investigating the injured people, you devise, you could only save 16," Amari said, looking down with a conflicted expression.

"Don't make that face. There isn't much we could do. I am trying to learn my own healing magic, but it isn't going anywhere at the moment." I said, trying to sound sincere.

"I understand. Let's get back to the story," Amari said, taking a deep breath.

'I don't understand how people can care so much for people that die. when they don't even know them, I will ask mom if she wants to change that mindset of hers.' I thought, looking at her expression, and I could see Zagan also still had that mentality.

"After Kayda, in her dragon form, took the people who you froze to her back toward the capital to get healed," Amari explains.

"How did you even do that to a fire dragon? Aren't there scales like super-hot?" Zagan asked, intrigued.

"My ice is special okay, and Kayda can control her body way better than us," I said nonchalantly.

"Uhm, Kitsu, please think about what you say sometimes," Amari said with an awkward smile.

"hmm, huh?" I mumbled, Looking confused at Amari.

"Don't worry about it. So, after Kayda flew away. 12 orcs came into the clearing, and you guys killed them. Well, except for the ones she 'stole' from you." Amari said, pointing at the fire mage tied up with ice chains against the pillar, still unconscious. "Why did you bring her back with you, though."

"I don't know, actually. I don't really care anymore if she repays me. I think she has suffered enough for stealing my kills." I said, looking at her before dispelling the chains making her flow over on the ground.

"Well, after you grabbed the mage by the neck, her party showed up. You guys argued, and in that time, your party that you came with started circling to betray you." Zagan said while pouring himself more tea.

"Yeah, I think it's because Kayda left that they thought they could kill me for the bounty in the federation, but I am not sure," I explain, breaking the ice cup in my hands again. Jumping up from my set to dodge the water, I threw the rest of the cup to the floor, cursing in frustration. "Fuck!"

"You broke it again. that's like your 5th cup today." Amari said while through tea for me again in my new cup.

"Yeah, well, at least I can..." Stopping mid-sentence, I looked to the left to see Rachel land gracefully on the ground. "Hello, Rachel, long time no see."

"Kitsuna~" Rachel whɨnėd before jumping on my ŀȧp.

"Ha-ha, what going on with you?" I said, looking at her new appearance. She still had her white wings, but her hair color changed to gold instead of her pink hair. The rest of her looked the same or slightly different like her height is almost the same length as Kayda. The most noticeable thing is the gold feather under her eyes.

"Oh, I got my class. Light Sage a legendary class." Rachel said, smiling at me, whose eyes widen.

"What! OW!" Amari and Zagan yelled, making me hit them with ice chains over the head.

'I knew she was going for that, but I thought that would fall under exotic. this is getting complicated again.' I thought while being my chains underground again.

"What was that for?" Amari asked, rubbing her head.

"For yelling like that..."

"Yes, how could you hurt poor Kitsuna ears." Rachel said, interrupting me. Standing up from my ŀȧp, she walked behind me and started rubbing my ears.

'Your fuċken annoying your dumb angel.' I thought, just accepting her rubbing my ears without consent.

"Whatever, Amari, can you please leave us," I said, giving her a small nod.

"But..."

"Come, Amari, it's for the best," Zagan said, interrupting her while pulling her behind him. Walking away, he mumbled so only I could hear. "You better keep her away from me."

'Ha-ha, scared of some light magic, shadow user." I thought while giving Zagan a mocking grin.

"Now that they are gone, we can talk all we want." Rachel said, sitting on my ŀȧp while straddling my waist.

"If you say so, but do you have to sit on my ŀȧp?" I asked, pushing lightly against her waist, trying to get her off me.

"What, but why not. It's comfortable on your ŀȧp." Rachel whɨnėd, pushing her head on the side of my neck while pouting.

"sigh, fine, you can stay like that, but can you move your wings. Somewhere they won't be in the way of me getting to my tea." I said, poking her wings.

'At least I only have to sit up with this shit until the tournament.' I thought, seeing Rachel folding up her wings.

"So, I heard you were in some danger today."

"Not really. I went out on a quest with Kayda and some random we picked up at the guild. First, we got caught on a battlefield, save some people, got my kills stolen, got betrayed, and last we got some guild employees fired and executed for murder."

"E-Executed?" Rachel said, bewildered.

"Yeah, his name was Dev. Apparently, he killed or injured some of his own men to save his ȧss. I don't know the entire story, but Kayda should have killed him, I think." I explain, smiling, and it only grew when I saw that Rachel's eyes widen at the mention of Dev.

"By Kayda? That woman killed Sir Dev." Rachel muttered angrily.

'Sir Dev? Oops, it might have made Kayda a target, just know. I will need to tell her tonight when we have our free time together again.' I thought, chuckling to myself.

"Yeah, isn't she great? She is strong, smart, and an outstanding teacher." I said happily.

"I can teach you things too." Rachel said cross her arms while pouting.

"I know, but I don't need the things you can teach me yet," I said bluntly.

"You are so mean, Kitsuna," Rachel whɨnėd before pushing her head against my neck again.

"I am only stating the truth, Ha-ha," I said, laughing reaction.

"You are always like this playfulness, but when will that serious Kitsuna come back. she is quite hot." Rachel said while gently moving her hands through my hair.

"Huh, what do you mean, serious Kitsuna? Am I not the same all the time?" I said, giving a forced smile hiding my confusion.

"No, when you did your operation on me, you were quiet and had a serious expression on your face. The same was when you fought against your mother with that woman. Then there are times when you get a crazy smirking on your face that makes me shiver. then there is your playful one that always teases me." Rachel explains, switching between expressions. From blushing to terrified and ending up with a pout on her face while crossing her arms again.

'Huh? Do I have a multiple personality disorder without noticing it? No, that isn't it. It's probably more like I push back my urges'. The crazy smirk happens when I think about killing or torture people. The serious one is probably when I am concentrating but am I not always concentrating.' Feeling my own mind going down a rabbit hole, I sighed at myself before looking at Rachel, who had a small blush on her cheeks.

"I never knew I was like that," I said, smiling at her.

"No, Serious Kitsuna was just here," Rachel complains, shaking my shoulders annoying me.

"Rachel stops doing that. It's annoying," I said firmly.

"Sorry, I got carried away there, hehe." Rachel said, letting me go before laughing awkwardly.

"Well, anyway, I need to go Kayda is on her way here," I said, feeling the ice chains that were still on the dumb party members moving into the mansion grounds. I lift Rachel off my ŀȧp. Not waiting for a response, I stood up from the chair.

"Oh, did you still have some things to do with her?" Rachel asked, intrigued.

"Yeah, and it seems she brought me a 'present' again."

"Again?"

"Yeah, I have some skills that help make these 'present' better," I said, smirking. Noticing Rachel shivering, I calmed down before walking toward my tree.

"Can I come with you?" Rachel asked, followed but stopped seeing me glare at her.

"No," I said, turning back around before using Flash Step away.

Appearing in front of Kayda, who was dragging Gaby and his party.

"Oh, Nova," Catrina said from next to Kayda.

"Huh? what are you doing here?" I asked, surprised to see Catrina.
