Chapter 60: Shocking! Lord Demon King Sneaks Into One of the Heavenly Demon Kings’ Room To…

After the enthusiastic discussion between the Four Heavenly Kings, Alice's following actions were determined.

Using Wintas's connections, Alice would travel to the human realm with the help of a smuggling team. Wintas would also prepare a new identity for Alice in the human realm, with the new identity being a lost orphan in the Ymir Kingdom. With this identity, Alice would have a much easier time integrating into human society.

Afterward, taking advantage of the human realm's attitude toward weaklings, Alice would obtain the welfare of human society and gain a smooth entry into one of the humans' magic academies. Then, she would inadvertently reveal her affinity for light magic and immediately attract the attention of human society's upper echelon.

Following that, Alice would take advantage of the human realm's resources and continuously learn all sorts of magic to strengthen herself. While doing so, she would also steal the humans' top secrets. Then, once Alice matured and could take full control over the Demon King's Power, she would return to the demon realm and raise the banner of war against the human realm!

As for the possibility of Alice defecting to the human realm, that wasn't something the Four Heavenly Kings were worried about. Since the Demon King's Power had chosen Alice as its host, it proved that Alice bore deep hatred toward humans. Thus, it was almost impossible for her to side with humans.

Well, at least this solves the problem of my missing identity…

Inside the new room Flaman had arranged for her, Alice didn't know whether to laugh or cry when she looked at the identification card that had come from an orphanage in the human realm. There was a problem that had constantly been plaguing her before, and that was her lack of identity in this world. After all, she had appeared out of nowhere in this world.

Previously, when Alice had drawn the Hero's Sword from its metal pedestal and gained the identity of the Hero, she had lied to Zauna and Father Kasandora, saying that she had amnesia. Thus, neither of them had bothered to look into Alice's origins.

However, the situation with Alice's lack of identity couldn't continue forever. Once she met with the human kings, the kings were bound to look into her origins. Although they wouldn't be carrying out their investigation with ill intent, they would still be careful in their actions. If Alice still lacked a reasonable origin at that time, the human kings were bound to grow wary of her.

Now, though, all was well since the Four Heavenly Kings had taken the initiative to give her the identity of an orphan.

According to the backstory the Wintas had made up, Alice would become an orphan originating from a countryside orphanage from the Ymir Kingdom. One day, she disappeared after leaving to help someone with some farm work. The next time someone saw her, she had already appeared in the Gryffin Kingdom's Gryffin Forest. Moreover, she had even lost her memories.

It was the perfect identity for Alice. Although the Four Heavenly Kings had simply chosen the identity of an amnesiac orphan for convenience's sake, it fit seamlessly with Alice's experiences in the human realm.

As to whether the Four Heavenly Kings would grow suspicious of Alice once they heard about her subsequent experiences in the human realm, that wasn't something Alice was concerned about. The human side would do their best to cover Alice's tracks as the Hero. Thus, Alice's identity in the human realm would forever remain as an orphan, and nobody would ever question it.

Thanks to the human and demon realms doing their best to keep Alice's identity a secret from each other, Alice's identity and origins in this world were gradually being perfected.

The time Wintas had arranged for Alice to travel to the human realm was tomorrow afternoon. In other words, tonight was the last night Alice would be spending in the demon realm. Although she had only been in the demon realm for a few days, the things that had happened in the past few days were soul-stirring.

Not only did Alice extinguish the previous Demon King's soul, but she had also fought a life-threatening battle with Aird and even discovered that Aird was the true Hero.

Originally, Alice thought she could live an easy life after disguising herself as the Hero and Demon King. Now, though, she felt that the situation was getting slightly out of hand. After all, her plan was based on the precondition that the current era's Hero and Demon King had yet to appear.

However, now that the true Hero had already appeared, it meant that the true Demon King was already on their way. Either the current generation's Demon King had yet to awaken, or the Demon King's Power's selected host had yet to realize they were the Demon King. Another possibility was that the true Demon King had already realized their identity and decided to secretly observe Alice for now.

"What a headache…" Alice muttered as she massaged her forehead. She also couldn't help but miss her life on Earth.

Alice wasn't an orphan on Earth. Both her parents were alive and healthy as well. When she first transmigrated to this world, her curiosity had suppressed the anxiety within her. However, now that the novelty of transmigrating to another world was fading, she started to miss her life back on Earth.

Although this world's technological standards and culture resembled that of Earth, Alice still found herself feeling a little out of place in this world.

Wearing a set of white pajamas, Alice sat on her comfy bed and browsed LINK and LINKS using her phone. While doing so, she also paid attention to the clock displayed on the top-right corner of the screen.

Sometime later, midnight arrived.

Upon seeing her phone's clock displaying the numbers 00:00, Alice jumped off the bed and walked up to the door barefooted. Then, she carefully opened the door and checked the corridor outside.

—The corridor was empty and void of people.

After living in Flaman's manor for the past few days, Alice had already grasped the work and rest routines of the manor's residents. Although the existence of mobile phones and computers had created many night owls, the Four Heavenly Kings typically did not stay up late.

Based on Alice's observation during the past few days, Flaman's manor would become deathly silent after midnight. Only when Alice needed to use the toilet would there be a little noise in the manor.

Located diagonally across Alice's room was Aird's room. Meanwhile, looking at the lack of light coming through the gap underneath the door, Aird should've gone to bed already.

Alice chose not to put on any footwear to avoid making any sound as she crept up to Aird's room. Then, she gently opened the door and walked inside.

The layout of the guest rooms was similar. Alice had already memorized the location of the beds in these guest rooms a few days ago, so she safely reached Aird's bed even without the lights on.

Aird's eyes were currently shut, and her expression was as indifferent as always. At the very least, Alice couldn't tell if Aird's current expression was any different than the expression she wore when she was awake.

Based on the rhythmic breathing, Alice felt that Aird must be sound asleep. Although Alice was a little surprised that Aird didn't wake up to her arrival, she felt that it was a normal reaction after giving it more thought. With how weak she was in her normal state, she couldn't even pose a threat to Aird even in her sleep. Thus, there was no reason why Aird would wake up to her presence. If the Four Heavenly Kings could be awakened by creatures that were of no threat to them whatsoever, they would probably have to remove every living creature from their houses to get a good night's sleep.

As to why Alice infiltrated Aird's room in the dead of night, it naturally wasn't to conduct a night attack. Instead, she had a much more important thing to do.

While carefully observing Aird's countenance, Alice stretched out her right hand and gently placed it on Aird's hand. Then, Aird's weapon information immediately appeared in Alice's mind.

[Weapon: Newly Awakened Hero - Aird]

[Quality: Law]

[Effect: Strength +10000, Constitution +10000, Speed +10000, Mind +10000, Control +10000, Mana +10000]

[Additional Effect:

Awakened Hero (Passive Skill. Drastically reduces the consumption of stamina and mana when using a weapon blessed by God. Recovery speed of stamina and mana is greatly increased);

Fearless Will (Passive Skill. You will not be affected by mind magic. Individuals or objects that try to apply mental magic on you will suffer a backlash);

Word of God (Passive Skill. When praying sincerely, you can communicate with God and receive God's blessing);

Blessing of Light (Passive Skill. Your affinity with the light attribute is increased to MAX. When you are wielding a weapon blessed by God, exude a holy light that deals additional damage to dark-attributed enemies.)]

Law… This should be the tier that's above Artifact.

Alice inwardly sighed when she saw her right hand's evaluation of Aird. She had previously thought that "Artifact" was the highest rank. However, it would seem that her assumption was wrong. This situation also made sense since her Artifact ranked panties only allowed her to cast one taboo. In contrast, the Hero and Demon King were existences capable of flinging taboos at each other as if they were one-dollar cupcakes. Thus, it was only reasonable that the Hero and Demon King were one rank higher than her panties.

Moreover, what made Alice even more envious was that Aird didn't give off a light show when she held her with her right hand. It would be wonderful if her panties could learn this trait from Aird.

After muttering some complaints in her mind, Alice closed her eyes and began praying with sincerity.

Yes. Alice had already set her sights on the Word of God skill the first time she had checked out Aird's weapon statistics, and now was the time she enacted her plans. She wanted to see if she could contact this world's God through Aird's Word of God skill.
