Don’t Bring Strangers Home (1)

“Xiao gege, let’s add each other’s WeChat?”

Duan Wenzheng’s smile at the end was coquettish. The words said were as if they were imitated by the few people that had stopped him from being on his way earlier, filled with an attitude to get the contact details of a person they barely knew and wouldn’t give way if not given.

Xue Lan stood frozen for a moment.

Seeing him not speaking, Duan Wenzheng inched closer to him.

“Xiao gege, we’ve known each other for so many days already and we haven’t exchanged contacts, how inconvenient will it be to play together?”

Xue Lan’s face was bright red. He knew he was teasing him so he lowered his head, wanting to go past his side.

But Duan Wenzheng blocked him again. “How about QQ?”

The red on Xue Lan’s face had spread to the tip of his ears. He looked away, both flustered and upset—but only to be blocked firmly again, leaving him no room to maneuver.

Duan Wenzheng looked at his tense expression and remembered his look the other day during the live stream, clearly red until the tip of his ears yet still pretending to be composed…Different from when he was in the game as he lifted and lowered the knife with such speed, accuracy and ruthlessness even if he used a profession such as a medic, he was so delicate it was tantalizing.

Duan Wenzheng lowered his eyes to hide the layer of darkness in them and brought his phone up to him again. “Mm?”

Xue Lan was cornered by him, but it wasn’t like he didn’t want to add Duan Wenzheng, so he took the phone and added his WeChat number.

Only then did Duan Wenzheng put his phone away. “Let’s go.”

He felt gleeful in his heart, but when both of them together stepped inside the mall and all eyes settled on them…he realized buying clothes with Duan Wenzheng was an extremely wrong decision!!

“What are you looking for?”

“Sir, come give your girlfriend…”

All the eyes of the staff from the women’s clothing store laid on Duan Wenzheng. Xue Lan was not used to having others’ attention on him, so he lowered his head and strode toward the men’s section.

He also didn’t dare to change clothes and instead only chose a few clothes, told his size, and had the staff pack them up.

With Duan Wenzheng, he felt the manner of the staff was much better.

Xue Lan furtively looked at Duan Wenzheng. He didn’t know if this was the so-called “protagonist shou’s halo”, but Duan Wenzheng’s was truly one whose presence would be noticed when standing in a crowd.

Although the face of the original “Xue Lan” was also as exquisite as a porcelain doll, it was inevitably still lacking. Duan Wenzheng was different, he could have eyes automatically settling on him like this because of an unrestrained radiating off his body, just like the Blue Smoke Wilderness that signified freedom in Dawn of the Last Day.

But Duan Wenzheng casually took his shoulders into his arms, chuckling. “Ey, why do you keep staring at me?”

Xue Lan then realized his gaze was caught by Duan Wenzheng. He averted his eyes. “Everyone is looking at you.”

“Are they?”

Xue Lan nodded.

“Oh.” Duan Wenzheng glanced at the smiling staff all around them. He whispered as he asked, “Do you know why they’re looking at me?”

Xue Lan’s health had not been great since childhood, he spent most of his time in the hospital. Not to mention having any friends, his only hobby was quietly playing Dawn of the Last Day and he was a loner, there was practically no one to talk with.

As it happened, this person in front of him was the idol he secretly worshipped for so many years.

Duan Wenzheng was bending down, pulling the distance between the two closer again. Xue Lan lowered his head in timidness. His voice was like a mosquito as he said, “B-because you are…good-looking.”

Amused, Duan Wenzheng smiled and unexpectedly chuckled. “So you’ve been staring at me because you think I’m good-looking.”

There was confidence in Duan Wenzheng’s tone, and Xue Lan then suddenly realized he only asked the question to make fun of him, so he brought him inside.

“Didn’t you want to look for clothes too?” Xue Lan put on a straight face, changing the subject as if nothing happened.

“En.” Duan Wenzheng looked around the few women’s clothing stores around them. “I want to look for clothes for my girlfriend…”

“You have a girlfriend??” Xue Lan blurted out in surprise.

Duan Wenzheng’s eyes were meaningful as he looked at him. “In the future.”

Xue Lan calmed down. If he didn’t know Duan Wenzheng was known as the shou best at shooting his mouth in a certain green novel platform, how could he believe his words…

Thinking he would soon become the shou for love, Xue Lan’s eyes also became meaningful.

From this odd gaze, Duan Wenzheng raised his brows, but he no longer paid it mind and repeated, “We have to help each other, do you want to help me and try on a few clothes for my future girlfriend?”

Xue Lan whose eyes were filled with a fatherly expression finally determined this girlfriend thing was him spouting nonsense. Thankfully, the staff had packed his clothes and handed them to him. Xue Lan ignored Duan Wenzheng’s words and took the clothes, planning to leave after paying.

Unexpectedly, the staff looked quite surprised seeing him pay.

Seen by Xue Lan, the staff smiled. “Your girlfriend is really considerate, giving you so many clothes.”

Duan Wenzheng shrugged and did not explain.

Xue Lan also felt there was no need to explain. After all, he wouldn’t come to this store again, so he pretended as if he didn’t hear her. He carried the things and went out of the mall.

Duan Wenzheng followed. “You really don’t want to try?”

Xue Lan’s face was slightly red. He feigned composure as he continued ahead.

Duan Wenzheng followed by his side and repeated, “Do you know why they looked at me?”

“…” Xue Lan who had suffered did not want to suffer the second time, so he chose to ignore him.

Duan Wenzheng sighed. He looked at his expression which clearly couldn’t stand being teased but still feigned composure. He muttered:

“I’ll tell you next time.”
