Chapter 168 - Love is a poison

Sara left the place in a hurry. She didn't want to show her tears to others, mostly to Siara. She grabbed a taxi and sat down.

"Ma'am where you want to go?" The taxi driver asked, looking at her.

"Anywhere far from here." Sara replied looking at the building. Tears rolled down her fair skin.

"Okay." The driver started the car, he didn't say anything but took peeks from time to time

Why was she crying? What did she even do wrong? She didn't pursue him, it was him. Only thing wrong was that she fell in love with him.

No, it was wrong, the person who hurt should be in pain. She will show him that she was never a substitute.

"Wait for me, I will give you every pain I got." Sara curled her fingers into a fist in anger.

"Take me to this address." Sara said Michael's place address, she went to fly back to her home, maybe staying here will make him remember everyday, for now more than taking revenge, is to give birth to her baby healthy without any complications.

She went inside the house, started to pack her clothes, she couldn't stop her sobs from seeing the place. Few hours ago she was happy there with Michael but now even the sight of it makes her hate it.

Sara went downstairs, taking her suitcase with her but to her surprise Michael came in from the front door. Sara stopped on her track, clasping the handle of her suitcase tightly.

"Sara, listen to me." Michael tried to explain her, going towards her. She ignored him and continued walking to the front door to leave.

"I said listen to me." Michael held her arm to stop her but she immediately snapped it away.

"Listen to what? I don't care how your girl is but stop playing with me." Sara yelled at him in fury. She was never treated like a second person in her whole life, from the time she was born she was queen but suddenly she became a substitute. She will never accept being a substitute for someone who is not better than her.

"Stop! Just because someone said I dated girls who looked like my first love, doesn't mean you are a substitute too." Michael pinned her on the wall, holding her arms tightly.

"Don't you believe in me?" He mumbled in a softer tone.

"..." Sara stood silent for sometime; yes, he was not wrong but one person can be wrong but it was not false that he was a playboy, and not one but so many said they should say because of something.

"Fine, I will trust, just answer a few of my questions." Sara looked at him, crossing her arms over her c.h.e.s.t.

"What is it? Until I can I will." Michael said, finally letting go of her.

Sara went to the hall and sat down on the couch, one leg over another, leaning back. Sitting like a queen.

Michael followed her, and sat beside her, clasping his fingers.

"When did you first fall in love?" Sara asked looking away, being cold and aloof.

Listening to her questions, his eyes got bigger. If he tells her the truth that he fell in love ten years ago will she leave him, but hiding the truth may make it worse.

"When I met you for the first time." Michael took the risk of telling her the lie instead of saying the truth. Maybe this lie can only save their relationship.

Sara's nose twitched on hearing his answer, she sat straight,"Then why did you date so many girls before, to find a surrogate mother for yourself?" Sara scoffed.

"Sara!" Michael looked at her after hearing what she said.

"What? Are you ashamed now?" Sara mocked him.

"No, I dated them because I thought I may find my love one day." Michael sat calming down.

"Oh? Find your love, instead of dating why didn't you wait for me? No wait for her" Sara said scornfully.

"Sara, yes it's true I made a mistake before but after meeting I stopped. I only thought of being loyal to you." Michael holds her hand and kneels down in front of her.

Sara felt his words, but she was afraid to trust him and at last what she thought might come true, maybe she was really substitute for him, she was scared. It was better to leave before his real lover comes and he ditch her and their baby.

"I don't see honesty in your words." She got up and walked out.

"What will make you see my honesty towards you?" He embraced her from behind tightly.

"Nothing, just let me go before I hurt both of us." Sara breaks from the embrace, looking back at him, as tears shed from her eyes, she still tried to smile even though her heart was painful.

"No, I will never let you go. I can give you time but I don't want to lose you." He holds her tightly in his arms.

"Stop it." She pushed him away, she was trying so hard to break down but why was he making it hard for her to leave.

"No, you are not going anywhere." Michael held her hand and pulled her to the upstairs, she tried to break apart but he was strong willed to not let her go.

"Let go of me." Sara yelled but ignored her, he took her to their bedroom.

"What are you doing?" Michael let go of her hand, Sara tried to escape but Michael blocked the doorway.

"I can give you anything except for leaving me." He said before locking the door.

"Michael, you are crazy! Open the door." Sara slammed on the door to make him open the door.

"Yes, you made me crazy." Michael mumbled from outside.

At first when he returned back home, he just wanted to stop her from leaving and explain it but seeing her leave, he was scared. He can do anything to make her stay, even becoming a billion in her eyes. He just wanted her, if he let her go today he will regret it for the whole life.

It was the first time she saw Michael being overbearing, she never thought someone like him would force her.

"Why?" She can't stop her sobs anymore.

Why was he doing it. She wanted to leave him so he can go back to his first love but why was she prisoned.

She didn't know whether she should cry or laugh at her misery. Sure, love is a poison who kills you slowly.
