ℙ007 – Elemental Correlation

Hecate looked at the scenery in front of her without any expression.

The scenery in B1F was different than in 1F. It supposedly to be some kind of basement inside a palace or some sort of cathedral, but now the place has been infested with parasites. The walls were now full of meat, but unlike in 1F, the meat wall here fills the entire floor, wall and ceiling, making it look like Hecate entered an intestine of some creature.

Moreover, the meat wall here is more stable and solid, even if she still had Cyclonic Storm saved, probably she wouldn't be able to damage it much except some scratch. But in exchange, no more maggots and foul stench, no more acid liquid spurting randomly.

Although, it seems she had to face burning lava, and fire-related enemies now. The feeling of scorching heat could be felt in the skin even though she haven't entered far.

[⁂][Fire Ant - Lv130] (×30)  -   (Attacks in groups.)

[⁂][Salamander - Lv132] (×10) -  (Playing peek-a-boo in the lava pool, breathes fire.)

[⁂][Fire Bat - Lv128] (×15)  -   (Flying enemy, attacks in the air.)

Only few safe places in the floor as there are lava that forming a pool that occupied almost quarter the meaty floor. If Hecate carelessly stepped up in the lava, she would suffer damage as well as burn debuff that deals DoT (Damage over Time). Even if she equips her Cloak of the Fallen, it wouldn't be able to save her from death.

Not only that, her equipment durability that touches the lava would be damaged the more she stays in the pool. Once the durability exhausted to 0, the equipment will disappeared and cannot be repaired anymore.

But, to Hecate this environment is actually easier than previous floor.

"Tidal Wave."

The moment Hecate pointed her wand, a surging of water came out and flooding everything on sight.

Her passive damage boosters skills, 10 Ring of Aqua that gives 400% boosts, and Mystical Amplification that doubles the total damage was enough to snuff out the life of most monsters in the field, along with the lava in the surrounding.

Not to mention there is a thing called Elemental Correlation. The mechanism is like rock-paper-scissor, where the winner got an extra damage bonus by 50%.

In this case, her Tidal Wave which have water element property, deals 50% more damage to her enemies that have fire property.

WHOOOOSSSSHH!!!!

Lots of damage pop-up appeared on the screen that Hecate decided to turn it off for the time being. At a first glance the damage seems lower than Cyclonic Storm, but that's actually not true.

The true power of Tidal Wave is that this spell deals multiple damage!

As long as Hecate continues to supply water to sink her enemies, the barrage of damage also continues!

Although, this only worked in a closed room like dungeon. It won't work if she used this spell outside, like the time when her guild's raid battle with the World Boss, Sharknath. If the enemy can't be drown then it will be meaningless and only do meager damage.

When the water subsided, the lava pool was gone. Many of Fire Ants and Salamander carcasses scattered around in the floor. The burning fire pattern in every Salamander's body completely gone, making their body looked like died rats.

The only monster that wasn't affected only Fire Bat that can fly in the air. Having recognized Hecate as a threat, the group of Fire Bat immediately launches numerous Fire Ball to her direction. With so many Fire Ball aiming at her, it would be very difficult to dodge.

However, Hecate did not panic.

"Such pointless attack. Equipment Switch! Mystical Amplification!"

She calmly waved her hand, clicked a hotkey that changed all of her rings in a single swipe. And as a courtesy, she whimsically casts Mystical Amplification, because, why not?

Doubling the power of the next spell is not a bad thing.

At that moment, the rings that she just equipped has come to use. The 20% fire damage resistance from the rings, multiplied by ten and becomes 200%, shielded Hecate from harm.

Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff!

When players have 100% resistance on an element, they will be impervious to any attacks by the said elements. But when the resistance exceeds 100%, the surplus percentage resulting the player absorbs the attacks and recovers their MP.

Hecate did not dodge and let all of their attacks to hit her. The moment those Fire Ball touched her body, they immediately disperses and did not deal any damage to her. On the contrary, those fire attacks was absorbed and replenishes her MP.

Other than Wind, Water, and Fire, Hecate also collected the Earth version of the ring.

With proper timing and flexibility, Hecate can block any attack from the 4 elements!

Though, it only applies for elemental attacks based on those 4 elements and only one kind per time. If her enemy uses attack outside those 4 elements (physical attack, light and dark) or mixed element attacks that would be hard to dodge, then she could only click the hotkey that was set to use Life Insurance Scroll immediately to nullify the Death Penalty.

When the attacks subsided, Hecate changed back the ring and prepares her wand.

"Time for counterattack, Switch and bam! Waterbolt!"

Puk! Puk! Puk! Puk! Puk!

She unleashed a series of bombardment of water from her wand and carefully aimed at every Fire Bat in the air. Each of the water was lethal and able to decimate the poor bat, piercing their carcasses and making them stuck on the wall or ceiling.

That makes their carcass harder to loot, but Hecate didn't care too much and just collect the remaining carcasses. The more important thing is to not waste Exp Potion duration time, looting is just a bonus to her.

Because she uses Tidal Wave to drown those enemies, their body was left intact and she can collect them as a whole piece.

"I can use these as a souvenir to Rena-cchi when she revives later.

She might like it and then her trust and affection to me will be deepened. Heh..."

Hecate couldn't help but let out a smirk.

When you want to exploit people, you didn't have to use extortion. The correct method is to earn their affection. If their affection to you is high, they would willingly be exploited even if you didn't ask. But of course this is not absolute and exception is always exist.

If such person existed and can't be exploited, then she had no use to that person. As long as they didn't interfere with her, she wouldn't mind much. But if they does, then she also doesn't mind for being cruel.

It doesn't take too much time either to clear B1F before she running out of Water spells. The enemy that she killed also fills the 1400 kill count quota and her karma already returned to zero, thanks to Fire Ants who gather up in a large number. Their society seems didn't have social distancing rule and that makes Hecate easier to fill her objective.

Her red name completely turned to normal again, but only barely an hour had passed.

There still 3 hours left before she used up her login limit, 3 unused Exp Potion, 5 Life Insurance Scroll, and she haven't used any of the Fire and Earth spells. It wouldn't make sense if she just stop there.

Using a Return Crystal, Hecate returned to the Save-Point first to store all of the loot. She took 15 Condensed Hi-Ether and drank them to restores her MP to the max before walk to the staircase again.

"Round three, start! Mystical Amplification!"

But this time, she chooses the stairs leading to 2F.

I tried to fit all the grinding in one chapter but somehow it doesn't look good.

I had to split it again into the next chapter.

Two bosses in the ruins, one in 5F and one in B5F. Not gonna meet them any time soon though.
