Chapter 24 - Learning Bind

Chapter 24 Learning Bind

“Let’s end our conversation here today,” Li Pu stood up and searched his pockets.

Under Wu Guinan’s confused gaze, he finally took out a coin and let go.

“Tinkle…” The coin fell to the ground and made crisp tinkling sounds.

Wu Guinan couldn’t understand what he was doing. However, Li Pu didn’t explain. He just stood there quietly and waited.

After about 30 seconds, a green figure came from afar along with the voice.

[Cao~~~!]

The Scarecrow seemed to be screaming, “Money, money!”

Its eyes glowed as it pounced over. While it laded and rolled, it quickly caught the coin in its hand.

“… Is this some kind of new summoning spell?” Wu Guinan was dumbfounded.

He had heard of magical beasts that loved crystal coins, but he had never heard of one that loved federal coins.

“You haven’t seen something more bizarre,” Li Pu shrugged and took out a large bottle of Coke from his storage space and handed it to the straw doll.

[Cao, cao, cao~!]

The Scarecrow expressed its thanks to its Summoner and it immediately took the Coke to gulp it down since it was hungry and thirsty.

“Alright, I’m going to the Wind Listener Pavilion to train my Rolling Turtle,” Wu Guinan stood up and prepared to leave.

There were still about two weeks before the duel for the major selection. If everything went well, he felt that his Rolling Turtle could be upgraded to level 2 or even level 3.

Li Pu refused Wu Guinan’s invitation to go along with him and watched the latter leave since he had no intention of going to the Wind Listener Pavilion.

The first thing he had to do now was to

upgrade the Scarecrow. So, he found a remote corner and poured out all the broken vines.

[Cao!]

Although it was at the scene, seeing so many broken vines piled up, the Scarecrow couldn’t help but cry out and gasp at its Summoner’s cruelty.

Li Pu simply ignored it. He then took out and held the 500 remaining crystal coins in his hand, while pressing his other hand on the pile of vines.

His mind moved, and he activated [Friend of Magical Beasts].

Following this, a flash of white light appeared briefly. After the white light dissipated, the crystal coins and most of the broken vines in his hands had all disappeared.

“I’ll give the rest to the turtle,” Li Pu mumbled to himself as he looked at the small portion of broken vines left.

He only needed 100 pieces of the broken vine for the Scarecrow to learn Bind, but he had collected 140 pieces just in case.

It turned out that he had made the right decision in doing so. In the process just now, he noticed through the feedback that some of the broken vines didn’t have enough vitality, so they couldn’t be used by [Friend of Magical

Beasts].

[Cao] The Scarecrow was very excited after

obtaining the skill. It waved its hands and a few vines grew from the ground, wrapping

around a big tree at the side. “Whoosh…” As the vines tightened, the tree began to shake slightly.

Li Pu watched on. He wondered if it was because of the Scarecrow’s 10 wood attributes, but he felt that its Bind was much more flexible than the vines. It also seemed to be stronger.

At this strength, probably even the Rolling Turtle could be tied up by the vines while it was rolling.

However, the vines did not last for long. They

quickly withered and turned into blue light

before disappearing.

However, this new experience still made the

Scarecrow very satisfied.

[Cao!] It expressed its gratitude for its Summoner’s greatness.

It had just been complaining about Li Pu’s

cruelty, but after receiving the benefits, it

immediately changed its mind.

“You’re a fence-sitter,” Li Pu shook his head helplessly and opened the Scarecrow’s panel.

[Scarecrow: Level 1, Wind Listener]

[Strength: 10→12, F]

[Attribute: 10 Wood]

[Ability: Gratitude]

[Skills: Level 1 Snail Grass (C), level 1 Bind (F)]

[Inscription Tool: Wisdom Root (B+)]

Due to the new skill Bind, the Scarecrow’s combat power had increased from 10 to 12.

Li Pu was very satisfied with this. Compared to the 6 points of combat power the Scarecrow had when he first summoned it, it had doubled.

In other words, the Scarecrow was now on par with an adult. If it leveled up later, it would probably become stronger very soon. Under the buffs of the Scarecrow’s Gratitude, Li Pu could already feel his body getting stronger. Although the improvement was still weak, compared to before, it was at least so obvious

that it could be detected now. “Alright, between the Breaking Pavilion and the Berserk Pavilion, which one should I go to first?” Holding his chin, Li Pu decided to set

off. [Cao! Cao, cao, cao!] However, the Scarecrow objected upon hearing this.

It wanted to visit its little brother, the little Zen

tree. It wondered what happened to the latter after it fell asleep yesterday. To be honest, there was another reason. It had had a good time yesterday and wanted to relive it. “What you’ve said seems to make sense,” Li Pu

thought about it and felt that the Scarecrow’s suggestion was not bad.

Now, he only had less than 500 crystal coins left, and he had to use them wisely. He felt that whether it was the Breaking Pavilion or the Berserk Pavilion, the magical beast remains placed there were definitely similar to the Taiji Snail such that they were not of low grades.

Based on his current experience, 500 crystal

coins were not enough to acquire the skills from the related items. It would be better to find a weak magical beast to collect the related items and use them to get skills for the Scarecrow.

After all, the duel for major selection was about

to begin. It would be easier to get good results by raising the Scarecrow’s level.

The forest in the south of the school was undoubtedly the best place to go. He could deal with the magical beasts there by himself.

With that, Li Pu and the Scarecrow boarded the school bus and quickly arrived at the school’s South Gate. However, before he could step out of the school gate, he was stopped. “Student, where are you going?” There were guards at every gate of the University. Moreover, because magical beasts were lurking everywhere, even the guards were Summoners, which was not a job that anyone could take on.

“Uh, to go out for a walk?” Li Pu didn’t expect

this.

Yesterday was a group activity for all new students, so they were not stopped when they left the school gates.

The security guard,

[1 ||

If this were an ordinary University in an ordinary place, the guard would have believed it. However, what was outside? It was an area

where one could encounter magical beasts in two steps.

A new student might not even be able to make

it back if he casually just walked around. Unsurprisingly, Li Pu was not allowed to go

out.

Helplessly, he could only make a call for help. As his phone had not been repaired yet, he borrowed the guard’s phone. However, when he called Chang Shoushang’s

number, no one picked up. That was because the guy was still in the infirmary and had not

woken

up yet.

Other than Chang Shoushang, Li Pu could only think of Li Fan. The teacher had left his number yesterday.

The phone rang for a full 30 seconds before Li

Fan finally picked up. When he heard the other

party’s voice, he knew that the teacher had just been sleeping.

Li Pu explained the situation and then passed the phone to the guard.

Perhaps because Li Fan was too impatient, he

settled the problem with the guard in a few words.

After hanging up the phone, the guard looked at Li Pu in a different light. This little cripple was the top student of this

batch? To be honest, he didn’t really believe it. However, Teacher Li had already made it clear that if anything were to happen to the boy, he would not be held responsible.

With the guard’s approval, Li Pu was finally able to leave.
