Chapter 468 - An Alluring Offer

"Big Boss?" Yvonne tilted her head while muttering the name that he chose to address her if she won.

'Reminds me of my CEO days.' She reminisced about the times when her employees called her 'Madam CEO' or 'Boss'.

"I like the sound of that~" She smirked and beckoned him to make the first move.

Roman and Knox stood at the side, worried for her safety while Demon and Howard, who were well aware of her skills, were excited to see how she would deal with him.

'Her sparring partner was Captain Desmo.' Howard recalled that her usual opponent was twice the size of the crook standing before her.

Watching her beckoning him with that mocking smile fixed on her face, the young boy did not hesitate as he rushed towards her.

His aim, right at her neck, was ruthless but that was what he was taught from the only person whom he treated like family in this world.

'Doing it for my safety.' He reminded himself that he was doing the right thing as only his victory could ensure his wellbeing at this moment.

However, what he did not realize was that the little girl had faced far worse, wicked, and vicious attacks from both her Grandpa Leo in her previous life and Captain Desmo in this one.

Thus, she bent sideways with ease and swiped her leg across the ground, succeeding in tripping him.

With his butt planted on the ground, he did not know what had taken place but the sharp sting in his nose made him realize that he had been struck.

Fresh blood oozed out of his nostrils, coating the already dried-up crimson stains present.

"Gross!" Yvonne cringed as his blood had stained her hand as well.

However, the boy was back on his feet as he narrowed his eyes, now serious to fight the girl who had landed the first blow.

The three boys stood on the side and watched how Yvonne clearly had the advantage.

'His movements based solely on instincts are fast.'

'Every attack is towards a vital point.'

'With proper training, he can defeat her with ease.'

Roman, Knox, and Howard's thoughts were coinciding with Yvonne's at this moment.

The boy she was facing moved on pure instinct and brute force while she had to calculate his next attack and evade him.

'Your skills are lacking compared to mine!' Yvonne gloated as her combined knowledge from both worlds could wreck him with ease.

However, her size and strength were her obvious disadvantages right now.

These shortcomings caused the fight to prolong but the outcome was just as she had expected.

Standing on her feet, Yvonne looked down on the boy who was huffing to catch his breath and wiping the blood from his nose.

"Ready to call me your Boss?" She inquired as she stood before him.

However, the cunning boy tried to use her trick on her as he extended his feet to trip her.

"Hey!" Howard yelled as he had just cheated.

The match was already over considering how his forehead was dotted with droplets of sweat which were now leaking down his face.

Yvonne narrowed her eyes and in the next second appeared behind him, pinning him to the ground.

"Admit defeat now?" She inquired but the shooting pain coming from his shoulder did not allow him to utter anything other than an anguished scream.

"Big Boss, please spare me!" He cried out because any more and he felt that his shoulder would pop out.

Yvonne was on the verge of dislocating his shoulder when she heard his cry, admitting defeat, and only then did she loosen her grip on him.

Stepping away, she glanced at Howard, looking for his approval, and giggled when she saw him clapping to praise her.

Roman and Knox were stunned to see how she had pinned down someone almost equal to their height and made him squeal in pain.

'Don't anger her ever!' They decided and shuddered.

The crook laid on the ground in defeat as this meant that he would be taken away by the authorities and live the rest of his miserable life in prison.

Yvonne did not look at him but turned around and headed towards her brother.

"Big Brother." She pouted and brought out her hands which had been dirtied by the crook's blood.

Howard pulled out his handkerchief and tenderly wiped her hands while Roman and Knox headed to pick up the crook.

"What's your name?" Yvonne inquired once she was done.

"Jax." His weak voice was heard as he rubbed the shoulder that she had just tried to dislocate.

"How long have you been here?"

"Three months."

"Move around a lot?"

"En"

"Alone?"

"En"

"Kill anybody?"

"No!"

"Injure and harm anybody while robbing them?"

"Never…"

"Threaten them?"

"How else would they hand over their money and jewelry?"

Watching the two going back and forth, the boys only listened in silence as she was skillfully extracting information from him.

Yvonne stared at the boy who was being restrained by the twins lest he runs away.

"Live in the forest?" She inquired and saw him nod.

"Why?" She prodded for explanations and saw his lips curve into a bitter smile.

"An orphan adopted by a band of bear hunters will live where bears live." He revealed but this brought many questions to her mind.

"So why are you robbing people?" She inquired with furrowed brows.

"A year ago… My adoptive uncle and his group were… Mauled to death during a hunt gone wrong." He mumbled and stopped speaking altogether.

Yvonne understood what might have taken place.

The young boy who was following the group was left stranded as he had nowhere to go and no other skills to live by after their deaths.

Thus, he began using his tracking skills and his hunting skills to rob passersby in order to sustain himself.

"You could have tried for other jobs instead of stealing," Roman added that an honest living was better than this.

"Easier this way." Jax, the crook, retorted as he was too lazy to work hard only to earn way less than what he could by stealing from people.

Yvonne rolled her eyes at him and rubbed her chin.

'He's quick on his feet, scheming, has a sharp tongue, and needs a chance to escape.' She analyzed his attributes and also how he was scanning his surroundings to find an opening so that he might make a run for it.

"What if I let you work for me?" She suggested out of nowhere which startled Jax.

She could sense his suspicions but did not mind and carried on.

"You will earn way more than what you could by doing this risky job." She tempted him with an alluring offer.

She could see that he liked money either for the sake of living or other purposes.

Also, he was too lazy to work hard if he was not being offered an appropriate amount for the work done.

Therefore, she decided to use this as a means to turn him away from his bad ways and also profit from having a cunning man like him by her side.

"You also won't have to roll in that bloodied soil each day." She added and watched how Jax grimaced then scowled at her.

"Vonny! What are you saying?" Howard was the first to object.

Roman and Knox frowned too as this boy needed to be turned in to the authorities so that they might deal with him.

However, Yvonne had different thoughts about this situation.

'Didn't Papa save Butler Limo's life and he was willing to serve Papa for the rest of his life?' She wondered whether Jax could be what Butler Limo was for Rutherford.

Her eyes sparkled at this thought and a wicked smile graced her face.

'What is she thinking?' Jax shuddered and felt a chill run down his spine after taking a look at her evil grin.

"Vonny, rethink your decision," Roman advised that taking a stranger into their home might turn out to be dangerous.

For once, even Jax nodded in acceptance of his words.

"What's so good about him anyway?" Howard scoffed as this older boy was defeated by his baby sister with just a few simple attacks.

Before Yvonne could reply, Jax raised his chin and rolled his eyes.

"Because I am prettier than you are." He scowled right back but froze when he saw her glaring at him.

She and Jax had been speaking rudely to each other and she did not mind but the same could not be said for now.

"No one disrespects my family." Yvonne's stern words made the boys smile but Jax frowned at the word 'family' that she was protecting so dearly.

An orphan like him had never felt any familial affection until he met his adoptive uncle but that too was snatched away from him.

Yvonne noticed his gloomy face and decided to go easy on him.

"Either leave this fief and never appear here again, causing trouble to its people." She propositioned while looking right at him.

"Or, you can follow me and work for me." She gave him a choice that might change the way his life would span out.

Howard was still disgruntled and hoped that this stinky boy did not choose the second option.

"You have three days before I leave this place. If you choose to follow me then meet me at the Valente estate while you still have time." She added and turned away, heading towards Demon.

This time Knox helped her up and the boys too joined her, riding ahead as they left Jax in the same spot.

Turning her head around, Yvonne glanced at the boy who was staring at the ground while deep in thought.

"I suggest you join me! As your Big Boss, I won't mistreat you!" Her loud voice faded as the horses galloped away into the distance.
