Chapter 761 - End Of The Party

Marquess Sullivan Samed was thinking of how much his sister had tortured him while demanding his help when he heard those words of praise coming from her.

It took him by surprise but before anyone could notice the awestruck look on his face, he reverted to his usual calm appearance and smiled at the ones who were now looking his way.

"These stones are a novelty product from Ocular's Caravans." The Duchess spoke again, this time causing their eyes to widen in surprise.

Everyone knew how expensive and exclusive Ocular's Caravan was and to see so many gems being given as presents was making them appreciate the Duchess even more.

This new information brought wider smiles to their faces now and they even took another whiff of the stone now in their possession.

The little girls were eager to take a closer look at the stone in their respective mother's grasp but could only wait for a little while longer before they would be able to do so.

Not only Duchess Tanner but Marquess Samed was also given a few looks of admiration from these ladies which brought a flush of embarrassment to his cheeks at the sudden attention he was receiving.

'This is all thanks to her help.' He returned their smiles as his eyes shifted towards someone else.

When Yvonne's eyes met his, she knew what must have taken place.

The solution that she had come up with for her tutor's problem was to introduce him to a friend of hers.

However, she had no part in what had taken place after that so she was just as clueless as the other girls here about what the Royal Tutor had purchased from that famed caravan owner.

Curious as she was, she glanced at the stone in her mother's hand, aquamarine in color and rectangular in shape.

While the appearance had enamored the child, she would have to wait for a little while longer before she could discover what scent it contained.

___

The Duchess had brought out her presents which also marked the end of her tea party.

The guests began to leave one by one with the first being Duke Brodie and Marquess Carter's family.

Old man Carter made sure to smile and wave at the daughter of the St. Claire's family before he bid his goodbye, revealing his stance in the most popular topic of discussion for the last few days.

In no time, all the guests had left and only Marquess Samed and Damien were still around.

Topher and his best friend also separated from the group and Taylor returned to his room so that he might make up for the time he had spent at this party.

This left the Tanner couple with Marquess Samed, the man who had been forced to stay over at this estate against his will since last night.

"Mind telling us how you got in contact with the owner of Ocular?" The elder sister interrogated him as they walked back towards their mansion.

Duke Tanner uttered no words but his perked-up ears denoted that he was equally curious.

The only time he had met the owner of Ocular caravans in the past was to purchase a present for the King's birthday celebration.

He had spent an extravagant amount of money to obtain that rare artifact which the King was pleased with.

However, Duke Tanner could not decipher how his annoying brother-in-law had been able to get acquainted with that powerful yet elusive man.

Only a few people had heard of the name Sevenz Oca and even fewer had met that man in person.

Therefore, when he heard from his wife that Sullivan Samed was able to greet the mysterious man personally and even negotiate a cooperation between the two, this news was baffling to him.

The task of arranging the return presents for the guests had been handed over to the Marquess but the Duchess had been fretting whether he would be able to complete it successfully.

He had not only completed the task but had also succeeded in surprising them with what he had managed to achieve.

According to the information he had gained from his wife, Marquess Samed's meeting with Sevenz Oca had been pleasant and fruitful.

It was Sevenz who had suggested the latest product his caravans had acquired and even offered to sell them at a moderate pricing.

Marquess Samed had lost a large sum of money to his pupil which the others did not know of so he was grateful when he was given such preferential treatment.

He consulted his elder sister and the very next day, Sevenz had sent one of his employees to the Tanner household with samples of his products.

The Duchess picked a few stones with the help of that employee and even made the payment right away.

When she heard that these products would be introduced in Rosenhyde for the very first time during her party, she could not let this opportunity slip away.

Thus she accepted the offer with haste and the items were delivered to the Tanner's estate soon after.

Marquess Samed only recalled everything that had taken place and smiled mysteriously at his elder sister.

"Some things should be left a secret." He uttered vague words which made Duchess Tanner's eyes narrow dangerously at her younger brother.

'Or I might end up emptying my treasuries after alleviating your curiosity.' He grimaced at the thought of losing more money as punishment for offending his pupil.

Shaking his head immediately, he vowed to keep his money safe inside his treasuries and not let them fall into the hands of that scary little girl.

Duke and Duchess Tanner shared a glance of confusion at his sudden, inconceivable actions before letting out a sigh.

He seemed adamant about keeping his secret safe which left them with no choice but to respect his wishes, at least for the moment.

___

When Marquess Samed and the Tanner couple had reached their respective rooms in the Tanner estate, the St. Claire family had returned home.

Demon was the first to greet Yvonne the moment she stepped out of the carriage, making her recall that she had snubbed him earlier.

Since she was already receiving punishment in the form of attending these tea parties, she no longer had to worry about being grounded.

Thus she excused herself and headed with her etcher to his stable behind their mansion.

Raylene was pleased with the outcome of the party as no one had expressed outright objection to the child and her feats done in the past.

Similarly, Rutherford had been able to converse with the three ministers in Duke Tanner's parlor which relieved him of the troubling thoughts that had been circling his mind.

The ministers had mentioned that the King's behavior might have struck as odd to a few nobles but many were leaning towards this idea.

This result was also due to the fact that the child's actions had helped out during the plague, saving numerous lives through her suggestions.

There would always be some who would be against these changes but with time, they too would have to adapt to the advancement of their society.

The father was satisfied with this answer as there was at least no immediate threat to his child and thus did not stop her when she left with her etcher.

Howard did not follow them but returned to his room where he had plans of studying for the rest of the day.

This gave the couple some privacy but the Earl's hopes of spending some quality time with his wife would soon be squashed.

After all, weren't the Valente family still residing with them?

Not to mention that Raylene had too many thoughts on her mind and hence could only drag her husband to the Office where they had more topics to discuss.

'We can try doing it in the Office again.' Rutherford grinned slyly as he complied with his wife's wishes.

Whether his desires would be fulfilled or not would be decided once Raylene was done with what she had in mind.

Regardless of his wishful thoughts, he would pay attention to what she had to say first before thinking of anything else.

___

Inside the Office, the couple sat before a table that had envelopes arranged neatly on it.

The meticulous manner in which they had been arranged made it easy for them to choose which one they would accept and which one they could discard.

"The next party is at…" Raylene muttered while tapping her finger on the name written over a certain envelope.
