CH 35

Shen Siwei didn’t expect  that the two men in front of him would turn around and start talking as if he wasn’t there.

“Did you mistake him for someone else?” Malken asked, rubbing his chin.

“It’s impossible,” klete turned back and looked at the familiar figure, crossing his arms and pondering, “Have you ever seen anyone else wearing a mask all the time?”

“Indeed, I haven’t,” Malken nodded thoughtfully, “But why doesn’t he recognize us?”

“His hair and eye color are different from before.”

Shen Siwei was naked in the hot spring, still holding the gun dryly in his hand. The conversation between the two men entered his ears clearly, and it was evident that they didn’t take his threat seriously at all.

He couldn’t help but frown and remind them, “ I am still here”

klete finally turned around, scrutinizing Shen Siwei and asked, “If you’re not negotiator, then who are you?”

Shen Siwei naturally wouldn’t reveal his real name to the number one wanted criminal, so he replied, “First, tell me who this negotiator is.”

“he is our friend,” Malken interjected, “and you look exactly like him.”

“Well, you’ve mistaken me,” Shen Siwei said, “I am not him.”

With that, the two men by the pool turned their backs again.

“I’m sure he is the negotiator ,” Malken said seriously, “even his voice is the same.”

“Indeed,” klete pondered, “Could he be a clone?”

“It’s not impossible.”

Being discussed right in front of him, it was the first time Shen Siwei had experienced such a thing.

The string called emotions was being plucked back and forth, and the veins on his forehead began to throb uncontrollably.

Shen Siwei suddenly realized that it wasn’t that he couldn’t have emotional fluctuations, but rather he hadn’t encountered the “right” person or situation.

Clearly, those two individuals were quite skilled at testing his patience.

“I can hear you,” he said coldly.

The two men turned back again, and Malken asked, “Are you a clone?”

Shen Siwei patiently replied, “No, I’m not.”

klet lowered his voice and said to Malken, “Clones wouldn’t know that they are clones.”

“Makes sense,” Malken nodded, “So what’s the deal with him then?”

Unable to bear it any longer, Shen Siwei said, “I’ve already told you I’m not a clone.”

Clones wouldn’t have memories of growth, but Shen Siwei’s memories from childhood to adulthood were very clear. He remembered being born on the third floor, attending military school on the second floor, and most of his time after joining the military was spent on the ground floor carrying out missions.

Only memories from twenty-five years ago were somewhat vague, he only remembered the military issuing recruitment information, he volunteered to participate in the transformation project, and the next thing he knew, he woke up in the present.

The two individuals by the hot spring turned their backs again.

“Then he must be a bio-human, definitely a bio-human,” Malken asserted, “Maybe if we peel off his skin, there’s a machine inside.”

“If he’s a machine, would he be able to soak in a hot spring?” klet furrowed his brow slightly.

“Oh, right,” Malken touched the back of his neck, “Then what exactly is he?”

Shen Siwei’s patience had been pushed to its limit. He fired a shot into the air, grabbing their attention. “Are you two done?”

The two turned around for the third time. Malken symbolically covered his mouth with his hand, lowered his voice, and said to Klet, “He seems to be getting angry.”

Klet casually glanced at Malken. “He used to be irritable before too.”

“Really?” Malken expressed doubt, “If you mean the time when he kicked your leg after killing the desert wolf, it was your fault for pulling his clothes. I think he kicked you well.”

“And there are other times too,” Klet wasn’t bothered, calmly saying, “When he pretended to be gentle, he might have killed me countless times in his mind.”

“Tsk tsk, you still have the nerve.”

Shen Siwei realized that these two would never stop discussing unless they figured something out.

He didn’t want to waste time there, so he pointed the gun at Klet and said, “You, toss me the clothes.”

When he entered the hot spring earlier, Shen Siwei had placed his clothes behind him. However, when Klet and Malken approached from behind, he moved to the other side, so his clothes were now under Klet’s feet.

Klet squatted down and picked out a piece of black cloth and work pants, then looked at Shen Siwei. “You didn’t wear black underwear before.”

Shen Siwei: “?”

“The negotiator didn’t wear underwear before?” Malken exclaimed in surprise.

“He only wore white underwear.”

Shen Siwei: “…”

Klet didn’t throw the clothes to Shen Siwei but stood up and said, “Come here and put them on.”

After speaking, he gestured to Malken with his eyes, and the two of them walked three meters away, turning their backs again.

Malken glanced back and asked, “Boss, what do you think?”

However, this time Klet didn’t answer directly. He slapped Malken on the back of his head and said, “No peeking.”

After speaking, he turned his head to take a look himself.

“Tsk.” Malken protested as he held the back of his head, “We’re all men. Why can’t we look ?”

Klet’s gaze turned serious, and Malken immediately fell silent.

Shen Siwei quickly put on his clothes, holstered his gun, and looked at the backs of the two men. “What were you talking about, the negotiator?”

“That’s you,” Malken was the first to turn around and continue, “You represented the military to negotiate with us.”

Shen Siwei was initially certain that these two had mistaken him for someone else. But after listening to their murmurs for a while, he began to feel something was up. Could there really be someone who looks exactly like him?

Even if such a coincidence were true, mentioning the “military” made this coincidence even more bizarre.

“I don’t know you,” Shen Siwei said expressionlessly.

In any case, the person in front of him is the number one wanted criminal. It wouldn’t hurt to remain vigilant.

“Not a clone, not a bio-engineered human,” Malken scratched the back of his head and asked Klet next to him, “Could he really just look like him?”

“No,” Klet stared straight at Shen Siwei, “It’s him, I can’t be mistaken.”

“Then…” Malken frowned, “I can only think of one possibility.”

Klet withdrew his gaze and looked at Malken, saying, “He has amnesia.”

The image of the severed kite string flashed in Shen Siwei’s mind. He looked blankly at the icy ground, feeling that something was not quite right.

He then took big strides and approached Klet, grabbing his wrist with his left hand and handcuffing his other wrist with his right hand. “Klet, you’re under arrest.”

The relaxed atmosphere suddenly became tense. Malken quickly jumped aside upon seeing the situation. “Boss! I think the person above erased the negotiator’s memories and let him get close to you just to make you lower your guard! Otherwise, why would he do this?”

Klet lowered his head and looked at his handcuffed wrists, showing no reaction.

“Boss,” Malken anxiously said, “Aren’t you going to resist?”

The black handcuffs easily restrained Klet’s wrists. He looked down at the “little dwarf” in front of him and said calmly, “Let it be.”

Malken: “?”

“Oh, right,” Klet raised his gaze and looked at Malken on the other side, “You take the motorcycle back.”

“Huh?” Malken had a big question mark above his head, “Then how will you go back?”

Klet raised his chin slightly, “I’ll go with him.”

“What??” Malken grabbed his hair in frustration, ” then what about me?”

Klet said indifferently, “I need to deal with this important matter”

“Im…port…ant… matter.”

Malken took a deep breath, only to be immediately chilled by the freezing air. He weakly extended his right hand towards Shen Siwei and said, “Let me borrow your oxygen mask.”

Shen Siwei raised an eyebrow in suspicion, “How do you know it’s an oxygen mask?”

“I told you,” Klet said in a low voice, “We know each other.”

“Forget it, do as you please.” Malken sighed in a mix of sadness and anger, shook his hand, and went behind a small snow mound to retrieve an off-road motorcycle. He yelled at Klet from a distance, “Don’t say you’re my boss when we go out in the future!”

With that, Malken left on the motorcycle, leaving behind a desolate figure.

In fact, when Klet and Malken were whispering to each other, Shen Siwei had already taken the opportunity to use his mini-computer to investigate Malken’s identity.

The best mechanic, nicknamed “Magic Hands,” the number two figure of the Nightingale.

Yet he called Klet his boss.

Before setting off, Shen Siwei did his homework and knew that the military had never figured out the identity of the Nightingale leader.

So could it be that Klet was the mysterious Nightingale leader?

However, based on the information the military currently possesses, the Nightingale leader’s height seems to be below 1.9 meters.

Malken was also a wanted criminal, but Shen Siwei let him go because he couldn’t bring two people along to search for Amor, and because a wanted criminal is only a wanted criminal inside the Life Tree. Outside the Life Tree, they are just refugees.

However, Klet was an exception. He was the person Moran specifically wanted to bring back.

Shen Siwei took out his communicator and was about to press the dial button when Klet interrupted his action.

“I advise you not to report to your superiors.”

“Why?”

“When you were taken away last time, you cursed your superiors.”

“How many times do I have to say it,” Shen Siwei furrowed his brow, “I’m not the person you’re talking about.”

“You are,” Klet said, “I can’t be mistaken.”

Shen Siwei felt puzzled, “Where does your confidence come from?”

“There,” Klet glanced  at Shen Siwei’s curled-up legs, “the shape of your legs, the muscle lines.”

He paused and continued, “And no leg hair.”

Shen Siwei: “…”
