CH 66

When Shen Siwei woke up from his dream in klet’s arms, the venue for the farewell ceremony had already been set up on the lawn outside the villa.

A giant holographic projection displayed scenes from Miller’s life, creating a lifelike effect that made it seem as if Miller was still there with the people, never having left.

Surrounding the projection were white flowers in a circle, and people continuously approached holding flowers, expressing their condolences towards Miller’s image.

“Do you want to go out and take a look?” Shen Siwei asked.

At that moment, klet was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, absentmindedly gazing outside. When he heard Shen Siwei speak, he pulled his gaze back and absentmindedly responded with a monotonous tone, “Hm?”

“To attend the funeral,” Shen Siwei said.

“No, I don’t have formal attire,” klet returned to the bedside, knelt on one knee, and leaned over to give Shen Siwei a morning kiss.

He wasn’t wearing a shirt, and his well-defined chest and abdominal muscles revealed powerful lines as he moved, looking quite appealing.

“As long as you want to go, formal attire can be easily arranged,” Shen Siwei said, lying on his side, supporting his chin.

“Do you think I should go?” klet asked.

“Go ahead,” Shen Siwei got up from the bed, “I’ll accompany you.”

Shen Siwei had Rita send two sets of black formal attire. Although the attire was not tailored, Shen Siwei and klet had standard proportions, so it fit them perfectly.

The only difference between the two was that Shen Siwei’s muscles were not as prominent. He could be described as having muscles when undressed but appearing slim when dressed. On the other hand, when klet put on the formal attire, he didn’t become refined and gentlemanly; instead, he gave off the vibe of a thug in a suit.

“You don’t fit wearing a suit,” Shen Siwei finished tying klet’s tie, then turned around and started tying his own.

Seeing klet staring motionlessly at himself in the mirror, Shen Siwei couldn’t help but feel somewhat puzzled. Meeting his gaze, he asked, “What’s wrong?”

“You know,” klet came up behind Shen Siwei, bowed his body, and embraced his waist, resting his chin on him, “when we get married, will we dress like this too?”

Married? Shen Siwei raised an eyebrow without changing his expression. This brat really had far-reaching thoughts.

“Why wear black for a wedding?” He freed himself from klet’s embrace and walked towards the bedroom door. “And I haven’t agreed to marry you.”

Many people came to pay their respects, and each person could only spend a few seconds in front of the holographic projection. klet naturally didn’t come forward to offer flowers; he just stood at the edge of the lawn, looking at the projection in the air with no expression, as if lost in thought.

Shen Siwei knew that klet needed his own space to sort out his emotions, so he didn’t say anything and quietly stayed by klet’s side. However, after a short while, Rita, wearing a black veil hat and a black cape dress, walked over.

She first nodded to Shen Siwei, then turned her gaze to Klet and asked, “Who is your mother?”

Klet glanced lightly at Rita, apparently not intending to speak, and Rita said again, “Just tell me, maybe I know her.”

Perhaps chatting in this atmosphere was indeed suitable. Klet finally decided to speak, moving his lips and said, “Sarah.”

Rita’s face showed a sudden realization and she said, “It’s her.”

“Do you really know her?” Klet asked.

“She’s a famous singer, isn’t she?” Rita said. “Miller invited her to hold a personal concert on the top floor.”

Klet looked at Rita, although he didn’t respond, it was clear that he wanted Rita to continue.

Rita sighed and said, “Today is his funeral, it’s not appropriate to speak ill of him. I remember your mother was not like other women, she didn’t scramble to become his lover. According to the original plan, Sarah was supposed to hold three concerts on the top floor, but for some reason, she only held two and then left.”

Rita’s words were concealed, without imposing her own speculation, but Shen Siwei could hear that Sarah’s pregnancy with Klet was most likely forced.

Miller’s hologram projection appeared with a gentle smile, giving a warm feeling. Many people who came to offer condolences let out quiet sobs, showing their respect for Miller.

Shen Siwei couldn’t help but feel confused. Why would someone who had everything do such things?

He looked at Klet by his side, and saw that Klet had no desire to continue listening, looking expressionlessly at Miller in the air, without expressing any thoughts.

“By the way,” Rita changed the topic, “you should be a newborn, right?”

“Yes,” Klet replied.

“I also want to have my own child,” Rita said. “After this, have you considered opening up artificial embryos?”

“Let’s talk about it later,” Klet said.

Rita nodded and asked again, “Is your mother doing well? It seems like she hasn’t been seen in public activities.”

Shen Siwei opened his mouth, wanting to change the topic, but Klet had already said, “She’s dead. Miller had her killed.”

Rita stared wide-eyed in shock for a moment, then let out a long sigh. “That’s indeed his style.”

“You don’t seem to know much about what your husband has done,” Klet withdrew his gaze and looked at Rita.

Shen Siwei could feel that Klet always harbored hostility towards the Miller family. Therefore, when Rita showed a caring appearance, he had no reaction and instead suspected that Rita was not as innocent as she seemed.

But Rita’s response was as graceful as ever. “I indeed don’t know much. If I had the ability to be involved in his affairs, I wouldn’t have to worry about Adolf.”

At the other end of the lawn, Adolf was gathered with a group of politicians, chatting about who knows what. In comparison, Rita’s side was indeed much quieter.

At that moment, Shen Siwei’s gaze suddenly caught sight of a familiar figure. Seeing that Klet was perfectly capable of handling Rita, he said, “You two go ahead and chat,” then walked towards the familiar figure.

“Amor.” Shen Siwei called out.

Amor, dressed in a black suit, stood at the edge of the lawn, looking at Miller’s hologram projection. When he heard Shen Siwei calling him, he turned his head and nodded in greeting, “Captain Shen.”

“How are you feeling?” Shen Siwei asked.

In fact, he wanted to ask about Amor’s mental condition. After all, when they last met, Amor looked completely hopeless, and it was Shen Siwei who slapped him to wake him up.

But now, looking at Amor, he seemed fine. So Shen Siwei changed his question on the spot and asked about his physical well-being.

“I’m alright,” Amor said. “About your…”

As he spoke, he pressed his chest, indicating a problem with his breathing.

“It’s fine now,” Shen Siwei turned half of his body and looked at the projection in the center of the lawn, then said, “about your father….”

“I’m fine,” Amor’s tone remained unchanged, “it was his choice, and I respect him.”

It seems that Amor still didn’t know about Miller’s murder.

“What do you think about the proposal regarding the Nightingale?” Shen Siwei asked.

“Holding a national referendum?” Amor said, “I support it.”

Shen Siwei wasn’t surprised by this answer. He asked again, “What are your plans for the future?”

“I don’t have any plans,” Amor said flatly, “just take my loved one around.”

Shen Siwei knew that when Amor said “loved one,” he actually meant “carrying Li’s remains.” He pursed his lips and said, “Take care.”

Amor withdrew his gaze from Miller’s projection and looked at Shen Siwei, asking, “I remember when you first approached me, you mentioned seeing Li.”

He seemed unwilling to let go of the matter concerning his loved one.

Shen Siwei couldn’t say that he had seen Li’s body, so he could only say, “I found your diary at the self-service hotel in the lower level. I got an idea about your situation, so I just casually mentioned him, but I haven’t actually seen him.”

“I see,” Amor sighed slightly with regret, “I would have liked to introduce him to you if there was a chance. He was a witty person.”

Shen Siwei understood Amor’s feelings. When one’s partner is exceptional, they want others to know.

But… there’s no longer a chance.

“Well, there’s no point in talking about these things now,” Amor collected all his emotions and said, “I just came up to say goodbye. I need to go back and accompany him.”

“Okay,” Shen Siwei didn’t know how to respond, so he simply said, “I’ll see you off.”

The two bypassed the crowded area and walked through the spacious lawn, arriving at the parking lot outside the private residence. The entrance and exit leading to the lower level were nearby, and numerous guards maintained order around.

“Captain Shen,” Amor stopped near his aircraft and suddenly looked at Shen Siwei, asking, “Do you have a loved one?”

Immediately, Klet’s image appeared in Shen Siwei’s mind. “Yes.”

“Cherish them, we never know how much time we got with someone,” Amor extended his right hand towards Shen Siwei, “Take care.”

Shen Siwei shook Amor’s hand, using the handshake as a farewell gesture. “You take care too.”

After watching Amor leave, Shen Siwei returned to the farewell ceremony venue. He initially wanted to go directly to find Klet, but someone stopped him midway.

The man in front of him was dressed in a well-tailored suit and bore some resemblance to someone Shen Siwei knew. He extended his right hand towards Shen Siwei in a straightforward manner and said, “Hello, Captain Shen, I am Moran’s brother, Morrison.”

Shen Siwei glanced at the hand held up in the air and didn’t respond.

He knew this person. When Klet asked him about Moran’s background before, he mentioned to Klet that Moran’s brother was a political figure on the third level.

Morrison was sensible enough to retract his hand when he saw that Shen Siwei had no intention of shaking hands. He said, “I’m deeply sorry for what my brother did. I never expected him to be like that behind the scenes.”

Shen Siwei remained indifferent and asked without much expression, “Is there something you want?”

“Well, Captain Shen,” Morrison’s tone was very polite, “we, as civilian officials, are preparing for a nationwide referendum. If possible, we hope that Captain Shen can also participate.”

Upon hearing this, Shen Siwei immediately realized that in the current situation, politicians like Morrison had already begun to take sides. By emphasizing that they were “civilian officials,” they were trying to indicate their stance.

However, such politicians’ behavior only made Shen Siwei uncomfortable. He intended to ask Morrison to step aside, but at that moment, Klet suddenly appeared from behind Morrison and directly pushed him aside, saying to Shen Siwei, “What took you so long?”

“I escorted Amor to the passage,” Shen Siwei ignored Morrison and linked his arm with Klet’s, walking towards a less crowded area.

“Just now, Rita reminded me,” Klet glanced at Shen Siwei’s arm, “your engagement with Adolf hasn’t been dissolved.”

“Don’t worry about him.”

“Let’s get married.”

These two statements coincided, and Shen Siwei thought he was hallucinating. He stopped and looked at Klet, asking, “What did you say?”

“I said let’s get married.” Klet’s tone was casual, as if discussing tomorrow’s plans, “I’m also a Mag person, and you can form an alliance with me.”

“Have we been in a relationship for that long?” Shen Siwei asked seriously.

“Isn’t twenty-five years long enough?” Klet countered.

“The previous twenty-five years don’t count.” Shen Siwei let go of Klet’s arm, slightly raised his chin, and walked forward, “You were still a minor back then.”

“I can subtract twenty years for you.” Klet followed Shen Siwei, “If you hadn’t been taken away five years ago, you would have been married to me long ago.”

“Five years ago, I didn’t want to be with you either.” Shen Siwei glanced at Klet indifferently, “Five years ago, you were just a kid in my eyes.”

“Shen Siwei,” Klet stopped walking and looked at Shen Siwei displeased, “do you want to marry me or not?”

Klet was still the same, patient but not too patient.

Shen Siwei couldn’t help but smile at the sudden scolding, no longer teasing Klet, and reached out to hold his arm again, saying, “okay let’s get married then.”
