Chapter 456 456. MONSTER IN HUMAN CLOTHING

Noah clapped for a few seconds allowing the fog that had been stirred as a result of their display clear up.

Loria looked worried and she was even ready to move when Noah shook his head. He had seen everything happen clearly.

Madison had set her traps before, and Bon had simply been caught in them. Still, his attack had been able to inflict injuries, although superficial on his opponent.

Madison was stationary, but she raised her head, clicking her tongue.

"That actually hurt," She admitted facing a recovering Bon. He bled from his right side, but apart from that, he was okay.

"What the fuck was that. It was fun!" The man exclaimed holding in the pain he felt.

A potion appeared in his hand and he immediately chugged it down.

Madison would do no such thing however, her healing would deal with the three gashes that existed on the left side of her upper chest to her left arm.

"Your technique is strange, I didn't notice it until it had hit. What is it?" Bon admitted walking forward, they held no grudges against the other for the wounds they sustained, only curiosity.

"And your technique is unfairly strong. What the heck!" Madison sounded excited washing away Loria's worries.

"We should try that again, but with our affinities in play," Bon suggested feeling his wound heal. Madison had pulled back on that strike, her full power would have been able to cut him in half. But he only received a gash.

Now that Bon mentioned it, Noah recalled that he had never seen Madison in play with her water affinity. The tournament had only allowed their martial arts.

Even with that significant limit she had been incredible in her display.

"I'm pretty sure you'd die mistakenly," Madison admitted sending chills down Bon's spine. She had said those words in a matter-of-fact tone.

"How about with our escort here?" Noah butt in, gesturing at Loria and she almost choked on her breath.

"That would be nice if she agrees," Madison responded gazing at Loria.

"What do you say?" A smile shone on Noah's face. He really felt interested in the lady.

Loria struggled. "I fear I might inflict too much of an injury," she bowed.

"Are you saying at your level you're unable to keep track of your attack power?" Noah arced an eyebrow.

She raised her head and nodded, even if reluctantly.

"I have this on me to keep my aura from flowing about. I have not had steady control over my power in a long long while," she explained raising her left hand to reveal a black bracelet fearing a green stone. Noah had noticed it but dismissed it as a cosmetic item.

"But you had fine control yesterday," Noah pointed out.

"That was because I limited myself and because we were not in a battle. Were we fighting I might have gone overboard," she explained. Her eyes shone with the light of real regret.

"I'll have to see you in action to completely believe that such is possible," Noah admitted, stepping forward.

"We can fight. I can guarantee you I won't die from your attacks," he explained with a light shrug.

Loria felt speechless. But she nodded anyway. Madison's eyes radiated her excitement and she ushered Bon out of the court while both peak stage tier 3's entered it.

"So your problem is that you get drowned in the feeling of a good battle and you lose yourself," Noah wanted to get things right.

"Basically yes. But it spreads out more than that. I lack the basic ability to place my explosive power under control. My bracelet isn't the only item. This very attire was made for that purpose," She explained quite level-headed.

"This is getting a bit confusing," Noah frowned.

"Are you naturally a battle-driven person who forgets yourself in their fights? Or is it just that you lack control? How ever that is possible."

"Yes for the first and second one," She nodded. She mainly had issues with her emotions which stemmed from the wound in her soul realm. But she wouldn't tell him that.

Before about a decade ago she had been fine, but the events that led to that condition had been life-changing. She anticipated the breakthrough into the fourth tier. Her masters told her only then would her healing come.

"Are you going to start fighting or not!" Madison yelled from her spot. She was increasingly getting more outward than Noah recalled. Maybe because they had been opponents back then.

Noah ignored her, focusing on Loria, he knew something in her explanation was missing, but he had not the right to probe.

"Let's fight then," he announced entering a random stance.

Loria nodded and brought out a sword.

She had been trained by the royal family to become a battle maid. She only specialized in fighting apart from serving duty. And she did it with all her might.

Her pride had also taken a hit from Noah's light words the other night, she was going to prove him wrong,

Noah watched Loria's figure remain lightly positioned. His eyes were calm, and so were hers.

"You can use spells-" He was cut short by the explosion of power that erupted forth.

Noah watched small yellowish-green sparks flood the world around him and saw the zig-zagged motion Loria utilized to reach him.

Her movements were dead quick and explosive, but he wasn't worried.

She arrived before him with her sword raised and her eyes blazed with murderous intent. Even if it was unintentional.

Loria had set up the sparks as a distraction, she would now proceed to unleash her full might on him. He said he could handle it after all.

All the sparks in the environment rushed towards her blade, as the world moved in bullet time to her.

She swung her blade in a downward slash even before her magical weapon could absorb all the sparks laid out around them.

Noah remained in position, but she didn't know when he raised his hand to catch the tip of her sword.

"Boom," Noah muttered with an amused smile then he unleashed the first form with his right arm.

An explosion barreled forth in all directions at that point. The shock waves were nullified by the barrier, but the event had caused the air to turn thick and cloudy as it washed over the court in violent waves. Madison and Bon were stunned.

The ground shook at the sheer might unleashed in that attack. Noah had only utilized one arm but it was already enough to cause a big commotion.

A powerful gust of wind originated from an unknown point In the court, clearing the thick and cloudy wind.

Madison and Bon felt their gazes tremble when the sight of the court unfolded.

Noah still had Loria's shining sword in his grip and she still stood before him even if her black eyes now carried deep fear.

Noah's left arm which he had executed the first form with was stretched out a few feet from her face. He had intentionally not made his attack hit.

"I told you I could kill you rather easily." His tone was light and he let go of her sword. The high-pitched sound of metal hitting the floor unfolded in the environment.

Loria dropped to the ground visibly shaking. Her life had flashed before her eyes in the moments of the attack.

She instantly knew she could never defeat the man before her. He had even stopped being a man and was now a monster in human clothing.

Terrifying.
