Chapter 222 Disagreement (2)

"The possibility is very high…" Frederick said and then stopped to think for a second. "We… it is nothing."

"I already know that you have groups of people investigating and watching all the known worlds, so you don't have to hide that," Jake said. "Anyway, I already did what I came to do. So, I am leaving."

"Wait," Frederick said. "Eventually, we will have to face all of those guys, when the time comes, can we count on you?"

"I believe I defeated more of them than you, didn't I?" Jake asked. "The question should be if you are going to bend useful during the battle or just after like you usually are."

"You!" The hooded girl got up and then raised her voice.

"Calm down… He makes a point," Frederic said. "So far, we only reacted instead of acting. So, we are lacking a lot when it comes to problem solving… Still, those four are operating as a single group and they have a lot of potential. Unfortunately, they are lacking in some aspects, you could cover them by fighting alongside them when the time comes."

"I will judge if that will be necessary based on the circumstances and when the time comes," Jake said. "Until then, your moves to make me work with them to benefit your guild will be completely useless."

After saying that, Jake left, and after a few minutes, the hooded girl began to stomp on the ground with all her might. She sure looked pissed, and that was rare since she was the quiet type…

"What an asshole!" The hooded girl said. "He just focus on himself instead of helping most people like we do and he acts so condescending when we have so many things to do!"

"Calm down…" Frederick said and then sighed. "In the end, results are everything. We might be able to accomplish things here and there with diplomacy and helping other humans, but that doesn't look much important in the grant scheme of things. Still, that is fine, that is the path we chose. We will improve things by not relying on violence like most."

"... Anyway, it seems that his magic presence is the same as before," the hooded girl said. "He got stronger, but not so suddenly like before."

"Luke said that his power was a bit weird, like it was incomplete, so he couldn't take a good look at it," Frederick said. "Still, his friends always compliment him… So, I wonder why I felt so cautious the first time we saw him. His friends didn't share the same feeling, but everyone else that could tell that he had so much potential agreed with us."

p "Why not send someone to keep an eye on him?" The hooded girl asked. "He is basically a magnet for the criminals… They really hate him for some reason while they completely ignore most of us."

"He will notice it, while he doesn't show most of the time, his senses are as sharp as they could be… Even without having any skill that actually warns him of danger." Frederick said while furrowing his eyebrows. "In any case, we can't do much more that we already are."

The hooded girl nodded, but she felt that she needed more skills to keep a close watch on Jake. She disliked him and thought that he was dangerous, so that was enough reason for her to act on her own accord.

Once Jake returned to his base, he sighed. Lately, his anger grows faster and more powerful whenever he goes to any place like the guild camps. He lived by himself most of his life, so it was weird that he was starting to like those places more than before and so fast.

"Well, let's change the mood and avoid returning to that place with all my might," Jake thought. "That should solve the problem."

In any case, Jake headed to the dungeon to get the materials that he wanted. Still, while he was reading the list, he frowned since he killed so many monsters on some of the maps where some weapons could be dropped, but he never got them… it would be a pain if he will have to go to those places and hunt for days to get them.

While Jake was interested only in the melee classes, he found some with skills that looked really interesting and that they would help him quite a bit. So, he wondered a lot about what he should do… Regardless, he started with what he wanted. First of all, he had to buy a slightly bigger katana than his old one.

Nodachi (0%)

Strength + 15, Dexterity + 15, master this item to obtain its effects permanently.

While the size was the type that Jake liked, it was a bit hard to control the weapon because it wasn't as heavy as his greatsword. Moreover, the weapon only granted parameters and no skills, so Jake felt a bit disappointed. In any case, thanks to the fact that the fights were too easy there, it took one hour for Jake to master the weapon.

Congratulations! You have become a Level one Dark Slayer!

Your stamina and dexterity will increase by six points, and your health, mana, control, and speed will increase by three points whenever you level up your class.

Congratulations! You have learned the skill: Motivation.

Effect: When defeating your targets, your health, mana, and stamina will be restored by two points multiplied by the level of the skill.

You obtained 01 status point.

"That is a weird name for a skill, but I like its effects…" Jake smiled.

With Motivation, Jake could fight for longer periods of time against a large number of enemies. He has been doing that a lot recently, so that skill was pretty much the thing that he needed the most. Still, he felt a bit disappointed since he wanted more physical skills. The combos that he could make were too fun, but he needs something new now and then.
