CH 9

Not long after he started thinking about making money, the drama crew called.

“Hello, is this Mr. Si Huaixi?”

“Yes.”

“Oh, I’m a staff member of the drama crew ‘This Star is Named for You’. Can you please come to the Imperial Capital University for filming?”

“Imperial Capital University?” Si Huaixi had learned about the crew before. They were extremely poor and didn’t even have a filming location. So, how could they suddenly go to the most famous university in the Imperial Capital?

But this was just a Mary Sue campus drama, at most with some added e-sports elements. So the crew had initially planned to rent a single room and pretend it was a dormitory, then sneak into a school playground to shoot the outdoor scenes.

After hearing this, Si Huaixi felt weird. But maybe it is a good thing that the protagonist is willing to invest in the production. At least he didn’t have to worry about getting caught by the police for sneaking into a school.

However, when Si Huaixi entered the crew, it turned out to be completely different from what he thought. The poor and shabby crew in his memory were replaced by a top-notch crew with various high-end equipment. Even the clothing was made of top-quality fabric, and there were dozens of high-end game virtual warehouses.

Is the protagonist so rich?

Si Huaixi arrived at the crew with this doubt, but unexpectedly saw someone he never thought he would see.

“Brother Pei?”

Pei Zhaozhou was wearing a dark blue high-end suit with neat buttons, fitting tightly around his slender waist. He was talking with a friend nearby, and his amber golden eyes gave off a noble and unapproachable feeling.

So why was Brother Pei here?

Si Huaixi didn’t understand.

Zhou Wenjia was even more confused!

Why did Pei Zhaozhou suddenly want to invest in a crew that had nothing and even dragged him along? There must be something he cared about or… someone!

Zhou Wenjia’s eyes were full of curiosity as he scanned the actors around the film crew.

Suddenly, Assistant Jin came closer and said something. Pei Zhaozhou furrowed his brows slightly and said, “The University dean wants me to give a speech?”

Assistant Jin replied, “Yes, Mr. Pei. You borrowed the location from your Alma Mater1 to shoot the film, and the University dean saw that you were here. He wanted you, a distinguished Alumnus, to give a speech to the younger students.”

After a moment of hesitation, Pei Zhaozhou nodded and said, “Around ten o’clock. Assistant Jin, please arrange it.”

“Okay, Mr. Pei,” Assistant Jin replied.

As soon as Assistant Jin left to handle some tasks, he passed by and saw the appearance of Si Huaixi. He remembered all the information about this little artist on Mr. Pei’s desk and knew that Mr. Pei was probably going to make a move on this Beta artist.

Assistant Jin liked to read those bloody and heart-wrenching novels, such as “The Canary of the Overlord”, “The Sufferings of Love: Don’t Think of Running Away with My Child!” and “The Forced Love of Canary Beta”…

His gaze towards Si Huaixi was filled with three parts of helpless love and seven parts of excitement of watching the show.

— Mr. Pei had secretly invested in this Canary’s crew. Will I witness an aggressive AB love story?

Si Huaixi didn’t know Assistant Jin, but he saw his weird and secretly excited eyes, which inexplicably gave him a chill.

— Since I ran into Brother Pei, I should go up and say hello. We haven’t contacted each other since Brother Pei took the initiative to contact me last time.

Before Si Huaixi could even step forward, someone else had already taken the lead.

“Brother Zhaozhou, long time no see. The last time we met was at the Imperial ball. You were still a lieutenant general in the Imperial Army back then. I didn’t expect you to become the CEO of a top-level Mech company now. Why did it take so long for you to come find me?”

Bai Huaiyu’s almond eyes were clear and bright, like a pool of sweet spring water. With a graceful and ethereal smile, his skin was as white as jade, a telltale sign of being raised in an aristocratic family. He casually pulled on the sleeve of Pei Zhaozhou and coquettishly said, “It’s been so long since we’ve seen each other.”

There was a lingering fragrance of white roses around his body, a sweet and alluring omega pheromone that would have brought most alphas to their knees.

However, Pei Zhaozhou was not within the category of an ordinary alpha. He even felt a bit repulsed by the slightly overpowering scent of the white rose pheromones.

Pei Zhaozhou frowned coldly and took a polite step back, saying, “Bai family’s young master, I’m not here to see you. And it seems like your omega pheromone blocker has worn off. I suggest you find a safe place to spray on the blocker. You are responsible for your own personal safety outside.”
