Fu Yong laughed from the bottom of his heart.

It didn’t matter. He could wait until the day she was willing to admit it.

Hua Tang hurried into the kitchen, eager to avoid the topic. However, there was an urgent knock on the door at this moment.

“Mu Chi, are you at home?”

Both of them paused at the query.

Fu Yong gave Hua Tang a look and told her to go back to her room while he went to open the door. He found He Kuan standing outside with an anxious look on his face.

“I heard that you beat someone up…” Before he could finish his sentence, he saw the bloodstains on Mu Chi and gasped, “Oh my god, it’s true!”

“It’s just a few hooligans,” Fu Yong said lightly. “Besides, I didn’t hit them that hard. They’ll live.”

He Kuan pulled him aside and whispered, “Don’t you know your own strength? You ruptured their internal organs! They’re being sent to the city hospital as we speak!”

Fu Yong only twitched an eyebrow at his words; his expression remained impassive. ‘They asked for it. How dare they molest Hua Tang! They should be grateful for their lives.’

He Kuan fretted, “You broke a person’s leg. Do you know who his father is?”

“Why should I care who his father is?” Fu Yong asked casually.

“They will take revenge on you!” He Kuan was so anxious that he didn’t know what to do, but the person involved still acted as if nothing had happened.

Fu Yong took off his blood-stained shirt and threw it aside before putting on a clean shirt.

He knew that those hoodlums all had some background and connections.

They were the village chief’s son, the mayor’s younger brother, and the grandson of the wealthiest man in the village… Those troublemakers abused their family’s clout to run amok in the nearby villages.

He had wanted to deal with the group for a long time.

“Why don’t you take your wife and find a place to hide first?” He Kuan advised. “These people are not to be trifled with. Let’s not get into a confrontation with them. You can’t reason with them. ”

Fu Yong felt that he was too noisy. Just as he was about to rebuff him, he caught a glimpse of Hua Tang standing at the bedroom door.

“I think…” Hua Tang whispered. “There’s no need for us to hide.”

Fu Yong was surprised for a moment before he asked her with interest, “Why?”

“We’re not the ones who did something wrong.” Hua Tang’s gaze was firm as she continued, “They’re the ones who harassed me; they’re the instigators. We were defending ourselves! Why should we hide when we are the victims?”

Fu Yong looked at her with approval. She looked so soft and weak; he didn’t expect her to be so strong and independent.

“I know it’s not your fault! However, their families have connections. In this area, commoners can’t afford to offend them…” He Kuan bemoaned.

Hua Tang smiled faintly. “They can’t just do whatever they please, no matter how powerful they are.”

He Kuan couldn’t argue with that, “But…”

“My wife is absolutely right. Fu Yong stood beside her, looking rather proud. “That’s my girl.”

Hua Tang blushed slightly and lowered her head.

He Kuan sighed. “You two’ll be the death of me…”

“That’s that. I appreciate your kindness.” Fu Yong patted his shoulder. “Would you like to stay for dinner? My wife’s a very good cook.”

He Kuan waved goodbye; he still had patients to attend to.

Although Fu Yong wasn’t afraid of those hooligans, he still considered moving out of the village. After today’s fight, they must have realized he was not the ‘Mu Chi’ from before.

There was no guarantee that his identity wouldn’t be exposed one day. No matter how similar the two of them looked, there would still be differences. So it was better to leave as soon as possible.

A few days later, Hua Tang moved to the city with Fu Yong.

The reason Fu Yong gave Hua Tang for the relocation was that there were many development opportunities in Jiangcheng City, so it was easy to find a job.

Besides, they’ll be closer to her mother’s hospital, so it would be more convenient for her to take care of her mother. Hua Tang naturally had no objections to this.

They rented a small house. Although it wasn’t big, Hua Tang neatly tidied it up, top to bottom. She even bought new curtains, sheets, and blankets. The dining table was covered with an avocado-green checkered tablecloth, and a glass vase of hydrangeas sat on the windowsill.

Fu Yong looked around and recalled his previous lifestyle.

The Fu family’s hillside villa was as grand as a castle, occupying tens of thousands of square meters. Every meal he had was made by top chefs from different countries.

However, all that grandeur could not compare to this small abode—this little niche, clean and warm. The lavish meals weren’t as good as the soft white rice Hua Tang had cooked; they couldn’t beat the braised pork ribs she had stewed for him.

“What is it?” Hua Tang looked at him with her big, bright eyes. “Is the food not to your liking? What do you like to eat? I can go and prepare other dishes.”

Fu Yong smiled. “It’s delicious. I like everything you make.”
