*Bonger, any idea what the fuck is this?*

According to the elder appraiser's words, this was supposed to be some penguin bread. But where did the name came from? Considering my relation with Pengu and my luck in this world that made me constantly bump into all sorts of troubles, I was quite worried it would be made with some body parts of a magical penguin in the recipe, but from the minimal amount of information that I could gather by inspecting it myself, the more viable route would actually be a Penguin sect making this food in the first place!

\"I can only see that it has some kind of toxic effect, but its internal structure is way too complicated for me to analyze. Some further upgrades into my tools would be necessary for me to analyze it, but with how you prefer to stockpile your points for the sake of your

attributes alone, I don't think you would like to waste them in such a way.\"

*You know me too well, too well…*

Shaking my head to the sides, I was unable to hide a small grin from appearing on my lips. As I started at this strange piece of bread in front of me, I couldn't help but recount how my relationship with Bonger formed and changed through time.

Starting as just a tool for me to use to my advantage and first and foremost - survive in this rather hostile environment of this world, I quickly discovered that by appearing in places with a high density of energy in the air made it evolve into a being with a bit of personality.

Now, after I gained quite a lot of knowledge from my talk with the golem, I believed that with the constant miracles that magic could provide in my life,  the personality of my second half of the brain managed to find a way to develop and just bank on the system to gain a source for itself that my own mind wouldn't reject.

The more time we spent together, the greater the companion I had in Bonger, wondering at times whether most of my wisdom and intelligence points weren't influencing his part of my brain rather than my own personality, wich how I found myself lacking more and more both in terms of knowledge and the overall ability to understand the events ongoing around me.

Through the period when Bonger's influence was actually diminished like when he had to enter a deep slumber or was forced to hold back my evolved predator's mindset from it taking complete control over me, I learned how important if not a vital part of my life a Bonger has become, making me value all those times when we would bicker, even if his remarks were on the spot a bit too much for my comfort.

\"Ready whenever you are!\"

With my hands already reaching for the reddish slice, I grabbed it and brough it closer to my lips. Just before I was about to take a big bite out of it or rather, before stuffing it whole in my mouth, I remembered the last words of the elder appraiser before he left.

Eat as much of it as I can.

But how hard it could be to just eat a single piece of bread?

\"Careful, there is some sort of vile energy coming out of it, trying to assault you. Just saying since you were wondering about complete lack of effects on you.\"

*Roger that!*

Instead of following my instinct born out of my gluttony nature from when I was back on earth, I barely scratched the surface of the loaf before swallowing the scrapped dust.

\"Oh, come on, there are some limits to how careful you can be!\"

Encouraged by the Bonger hasting, I bit off about a fourth of the lead, before munching it down and swallowing it. While I could feel a funny tickling in my throat as the piece of the slice travelled down my neck to my stomach, that was basically it!

If I were to compare it to something, then the first thing that came to my mind was actually a slightly spicy piece of chicken!

But when considering how high my resistances were, it truly was a wonder that just a small bite could give me the luxury of recalling this awesome feeling of eating spicy food!

Prompted by my innate gluttony, I simply swallowed the rest of the slice, unable to hold back from enjoying myself as the trickling in my throat returned for a slightly longer moment, only to disappear right away!

*Okay then, I wonder when the next slice would come out…*

Speaking as much to the Bonger as I did to myself, I rested my back against the wall, craving for a small sip of water to flush out the dust that somehow was left behind on the walls of my throat. But no matter how long I would wait, the table in front of me didn't reveal any cleverly hidden compartments from which yet another slice would come out!

By the time I managed to grow impatient, the doors to the chamber finally got opened, letting the elder appraiser with a small group of three other, respectable-looking elders following him inside.

\"Excuse me, I was told to each as much as I could, but after I ate that single slice… Nothing more appeared!\"

With a hint of disappointment in my voice, I turned to the newcomers in hopes of getting any sort of explanation for this bizarre turn of events.

\"See? Just like I told you! He should take the blue goose trial right away!\"
