CH 1

In Qiao Luo’s family, the parents were dance performers, those that won international awards. The grandfather was a calligraphy artist whose work was worth tens of thousands. The aunt was a writer whose literary works were always the best sellers.

And thus, Qiao Luo’s artistic talents were most probably inherited from the family’s genes. He had always been the most outstanding one among his peers, in terms of singing and dancing, ever since he was a child.

Father Qiao was a very romantic and very gentlemanly person. Qiao family’s atmosphere was always full of warmth and harmony, and they were on good terms with their neighbours.

The neighbour living next to the Qiao family was a grandfather, surnamed Fu, who lived alone. As he lived by himself all year round, it was assumed that he did not have any other relatives.

Therefore, Qiao parents would invite the elderly over to their house every New Year’s Day, to accompany him and make him feel less lonely.

Qiao Luo was very close to Grandpa Fu. After all, his parents were sometimes too busy and even needed to go abroad for performances. He played with Grandpa Fu, singing and dancing, making them both very happy.

Qiao Luo started to attend kindergarten when he was three and a half years old. Since his interest was in dance, Father and Mother Qiao let Qiao Luo attend a private kindergarten that specialises in grooming artistic talents.

In regards to dance, Qiao Luo was a boy who was very accomplished and well trained. He would practice until he couldn’t even stand up stably, and Father Qiao would then help him stretch his muscles.

Naturally, Qiao Luo would be praised by the teachers daily.

After coming home from school, Qiao Luo would obediently seek affirmation, “Luo Luo was praised by Teacher again!”

One day after school, Qiao Luo was picked up by the housekeeping auntie from school. Without even entering his own house, he rushed straight into the neighbour’s house, shouting, “Grandpa Fu! Luo Luo is back!”

As a result, the moment he entered the door, he saw a tall gege1, a young gege, who was standing behind a person.

Grandpa Fu smiled as he pulled Qiao Luo over and introduced, “This is my grandson. Luo Luo must call him gege.”

The three years old Xiao Luo blinked his eyes and obediently greeted, “Hello gege. I’m Qiao Luo, what’s your name?”

Fu Zhi Zhou, who was 7 years old, looked at the short, white, glutinous rice dumpling, that was currently looking at him. Since he was in an unfamiliar environment, he made a defensive action of turning his cold face away, replying in an extremely strained tone, “Fu Zhi Zhou.”

The little white glutinous ball then walked slowly to the front of Fu Zhi Zhou from Grandpa Fu’s side. He then stretched out a soft and tender hand to hold onto a small corner of his shirt, “Zhou Zhou gege.”

Fu Zhi Zhou looked at the face of the little bean expressionlessly for a while. He hadn’t wanted to pay attention to him initially, but he was rendered helpless by those innocent and adorable eyes of the other party, which held a strong magnetic force of attraction to him. Fu Zhi Zhou finally grunted out an “en” sound as a reply.

With an attitude like a block of ice, Grandpa Fu was afraid that Xiao Qiao Luo would be made unhappy and said, “Luo Luo, come over. Gege had just arrived so he isn’t familiar with you yet.”

Qiao Luo looked at Grandpa Fu seriously, then turned to look at Fu Zhi Zhou seriously. He reached into his little panda bag that was on his back and took out a stick of lollipop. He offered the lollipop as if offering a great precious treasure, and said to him, “Zhou Zhou gege, I’ll give you sweets then you will be familiar with Luo Luo already!”

Qiao Luo was only three years old, with a height of a jumping bean. Fu Zhi Zhou grew fast. His height was much taller than his peers so Qiao Luo’s hand completely could not reach Fu Zhi Zhou’s hand which was holding his own bag strap. He felt aggrieved at once. He pitifully cried out, trying to coax Fu Zhi Zhou, “Sweets…… give it to you, it’s really yummy.”

Fu Zhi Zhou‘s tongue licked his decayed tooth. He considered for a minute then finally bent down to take the offered lollipop. He stuffed it into his mouth right away.

What he accepted wasn’t just a simple stick of lollipop.

For his whole life, following that stick of lollipop, was an additional human sized pendant.

Fu Zhi Zhou needed to attend elementary school, but he just arrived here and wasn’t familiar with the roads. Even though he seemed steady and reliable, he was still a young child at the end of the day. Grandpa Fu planned to send him to school personally.

Father Qiao wanted to help, but Qiao Luo ended up extending an invitation to Fu Zhi Zhou first, and in front of all the adults, he said, “Zhou Zhou gege and Luo Luo can go to school together.”

He carried a small panda bag. His face was small, white and tender. The big watery spirited eyes looked at Fu Zhi Zhou, full of expectancy.

Then Fu Zhi Zhou stated for better or for worse, “You’re in kindergarten and I’m in elementary school. We cannot go together.”

Qiao Luo felt attacked and gave an “oh” sound. He looked very, extremely, aggrievedly at Father Qiao, “Daddy, I want to go to elementary school too.”

Nobody had expected that Qiao Luo would be so sticky to a little gege whom he had only known for a week and had a cold temperament too.

Father and Mother Qiao and Grandpa Fu laughed delightfully. They patted Qiao Luo’s small head and explained to him that he wasn’t old enough to go to elementary school.

Anyway, Qiao family used a car to send Qiao Luo, so sending Fu Zhi Zhou made no difference.

Qiao Luo and Fu Zhi Zhou sat in the backseat together. Using his hands and feet to cling on to the other’s body, he instructed very seriously, “Zhou Zhou gege, you must wait for me. When I’m a little older, I can go to elementary school with you.”

The sequence of sending the two to school was dropping Fu Zhi Zhou first, then picking Qiao Luo up first after school.

Qiao-humanoid pendant-Luo would always wave his white tender little paws in a dance while shouting, “Zhou Zhou gege! See you at night!”

Or it would be, “Zhou Zhou gege! Luo Luo’s here!”

At times when Fu Zhi Zhou’s class would be released a little later for some reason, Qiao Luo would be waiting anxiously. Once he saw Fu Zhi Zhou coming out from the school gates from afar, he would then rush like a bullet into Fu Zhi Zhou’s bosom and start to act cute with him, “Luo Luo waited for a long time. Zhou Zhou gege, hug me~”

Fu Zhi Zhou would have an indifferent face as he rejected him, “You are already a big boy, you can’t ask for hugs randomly.”

Fine, no hugs means no hugs then.

Qiao Luo would then pull Fu Zhi Zhou’s hand and mumble, “Hold hands. If not Luo Luo would get lost!”

Fu Zhi Zhou, “……”

The parents of this boy sent him to school, so he must repay their kindness. He could only tug at that hand which was many sizes smaller than his own. He looked straight in front, not at that little glutinous rice dumpling, and said “Go home quickly. I want to do my homework.”

Every time, just like this moment, on the short path from the school gate to the road, Qiao Luo would walk with head tall and his chest held up high, wanting everyone in school to know that Fu Zhi Zhou was his gege.

Extremely proud.

By the way, if you noticed, Luo Luo’s speech is so broken because baby boy is only 3 years old~ who can speak properly at 3??

leaving it as ‘gege’ as it sounds cuter and more coquettish
