CH 36

“Hey! That girl with Land, is she a newbie?!”

“That guy Land… He brought a cute girl after he left the party.”

“But he was in an S-ranked party, does he have the intention to train her?”

“Well, you can’t just bring someone who is as strong as you right away, can you?”

“So are you going to check it out?”

A gallery had somehow been set up at the guild’s training ground.

“She’s already an eye-candy.”

“I’ve heard that line somewhere before.”

Milim was not showing any signs that it bothered her, so it was okay.

“So, what should I do?” Milim asked.

“The registration test asks for a simple output, so please attack that target with your favorite attacking move.” Nina-san explained, pointing to the floating sphere in the back of the training ground.

Milim was about to head there, but she turned around and whispered to me

“Hey.”

“What?”

“Somehow, I know I shouldn’t break that.”

Milim was surprisingly understanding of human society.

“They’re so noisy. So, how far should I go?”

“Yeah… If it’s full power, you’ll break it. You have to check for yourself. If you want to, you can probably break it.”

When you think about how there are a lot of magical abilities unique to vampires, it was probably safer to use a physical attack.

“Do you have a weapon or something?” I asked.

“I have a knife passed down in my family.”

“Well then, let’s use that. If it breaks, it’s the weapon’s fault.”

“I see. That’s very smart.”

Milim took out a knife from the【Night Coffin】in a way the audience couldn’t see the process.

“Are you ready?”

“Yes.”

“Then, at your convenience.”

With the surrounding adventurers watching, Milim took up the knife.

“So he really didn’t bring a magic user from somewhere after all.”

“A knife … if she can do magic or long-range attacks, it might be useful, but … ”

“But still, knives are brutal.”

“Maybe he was asked to take care of the daughter of a country. Land… What a guy.”

There was a different feeling around the gallery.

Even if they blame the weapon, they’ll still be shocked later. I don’t know how much Milim will hold back.

As they were talking, Milim slowly approached the target.

“Here I go.”

The next moment, the target was already cut into pieces.

“Wha …?”

“Uh …?”

“What?”

Milim’s face was filled with cold sweat.

It was more fragile than I thought … I mean, that’s not normally the case …

“Nina-san, wasn’t that a bit odd?”

“What? Oh… Yes! That’s probably because there was damage from before … but for now, I’ll rate it, temporarily, as the highest B rank.”

I was glad Nina-san had listened and believed me.

The gallery, however, was excited by the unusual measure that a newcomer could start as a B-ranked.

“Wow! Did you see that?!

“Was it just a coincidence?”

“So, are you going to let me use an old target so that I could smash it?”

“Anyway, the newbie will be bigtime, that’s for sure!”

“That guy Land did such a good job! Finding such a beautiful and strong friend is great!”

Milim was flustered at first, but after realizing that everything turned out fine, she was smiling proudly.
