Chapter 37: Ex-Party’s Perspective

“Did you hear?! The dragon’s graveyard!” Roig cried out.

“The dragon’s graveyard…?”

Fade looked up and gazed at Roig who had just returned to the inn.

“It’s where that bastard Land is headed next! Let’s go too!”

“But aren’t we on suspension?”

“Well… but if we make a contribution, we can clear our tarnished reputation.”

Fade’s party was waiting for their punishment. According to tradition, they were not allowed to take any actions on their own right now.

“It was said to be a research on the dragon’s graveyard, but considering the recent circumstances, it may not just be that.”

The dragon’s graveyard was one of the notable places for S-ranked parties.

All of them, including Roig, had some understanding of the situation there.

The guild master Gihren suppressed the information, but it was just a cover to make the information more credible.

“Don’t you think the recent situation is strange there?”

“Yeah…”

“I heard there’s even talks of the revival of the dragon zombie.”

“But that’s just a yearly thing, right?”

The dragon’s graveyard and the dragon zombie rumors were great topics for people who seeked excitement. As Fade said, rumors like this come up every year.

“But… if Roig brought it up specifically…”

“Yeah. This time it’s not just a rumor. If the dragon zombie really did revive, the power of our saint, Quella, would be necessary.”

“Me?!!”

Quella, as the highest priestess and saint, was perfect for defeating the dragon zombie. In fact, if there were no problems, this research request would have been given to the party with Quella.

“Fade, are you okay with this?”

“…”

Fade’s head was filled with the humiliations of his childhood. The memories of failing to defeat Land kept coming to mind. Even though he thought he had forgotten, the difference in power between the two was brutally clear when looking at their current states.

“If by any chance the Dragon Zombie revives, I suppose we’ll need the power of Quella.”

“Well… They can’t win with just Land alone.”

“But… I don’t think I am quite capable…”

“What! You’re acting weak! It’s the Dragon Zombie! If we leave it be, the country will be in trouble. Isn’t this a matter of honor?”

Quella hesitated but the trend could not be changed by just one person.

“Everyone will be in trouble.” Meiru added, driving the point home.

“Everyone…?”

“You’re the only one who can defeat the dragon zombie.” Roig insisted.

After some hesitation, Quella made a decision.

“Understood. I’ll do it.”

“Good… let’s go,” Fade said as he stood up.

“Yeah…”

“Yeah! With this, we’ll make the guild understand our worth.”

Fade and the party’s plan was set.

By the time the messenger arrived to deliver the news that Roig’s license had been revoked, the four of them had already set off.
