Chapter 199: You will marry him

Mo Yuhan acted as if he wasn't the one being shouted at like that, but Tang Li became aware of her surroundings. She quickly tried to pull her leg back yet the man's grip on her ankles tightened.

She gritted her teeth. It was fine that he did it when they were alone. Yet, how could he go against the royal family rules in front of everyone?! She did not want people to point their fingers at him.

She lowered her head as her long hair fell over her shoulders like a curtain, covering half of her face. She put her hands on his shoulders and whispered in his ear, "You better stand up right now, or else they are going to call you a henpecked husband."

His fingers caressed her ankles ever so delicately as he replied, "Mm...Let them do as they wish."

Tang Li pursed her lips as she stood up straight. More than what people said, she was worried about the family. Though it seemed like a small issue, breaking the royal rules is considered to be a sin. The eldest son or daughter of a royal family should never kneel or bow before anyone, it has been like that in every generation.

Indeed, just as Tang Li thought, Grandma Mo was fuming with rage. Why did her grandchildren grow up to be so wild? No manners, no etiquettes, nothing!

At this point, even Grandpa Mo was a bit dissatisfied with his grandson's approach to things. He should kneel before his wife in private, why cause a ruckus in front of people?!

Indeed, the old man never acknowledged those olden rules and regulations like his wife. But he was just distressed that his grandson would probably give his wife a trauma with the way he dealt with things.

"Mo Yuhan, did you not hear what I said? Stand up right now!" Grandma Mo shouted right at that moment proving her husband's thoughts to be true. Grandpa Mo quickly stood up to support his woman but was, in turn, pushed away harshly.

The old man landed straight on the bed.

"_"He was out to do some good yet was treated like an enemy. Tsk Tsk!

He sighed before he sat up and leaned against the headrest of the bed. He peeled the grapes kept on the bedside table and popped them in his mouth one by one.

Mo Jia, who at one point had walked up to her twin brother exchanged glances with him as they looked at the couple busy in their separate pink bubble from the world.

Mo Yuhan removed her slim heel sandals as he caressed her feet before helping her to sit on the sofa.

At this point, Tang Li felt a little guilty. If she hadn't been adamant about going to the spot inspection of the mall project with Mo Zihan then she would not have those blisters on her feet. It would have saved him from all this trouble.

Mo Yuhan sat beside her as he flicked her forehead, "You should take of yourself," he softly mumbled as he looked at her feet.

Tang Li nodded her head with all sincerity to which the man sighed helplessly. "Liar," he murmured. God knows how many times had this woman hoodwinked him that she would take care of herself but the moment she got out of his sight, she would get herself injured in one way or another.

Grandma Mo was outraged. Here she was screaming and yelling again and again yet both of them seemed to be in a different world. 'It is all because of this ill-bred woman' She thought to herself as she opened her mouth, "Mo Yuhan, how dare…"

"Yes?" the man interrupted her. Mo Yuhan's eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at the old lady.

It was a single word yet his gaze seemed to hold an enormous pressure. Grandma Mo felt a shiver running down her spine when she looked into the pair of eyes. She was tongue-tied as she did not know what to say anymore. She moved a few steps ahead before sitting on the corner of the bed.

"Why 'must' she marry the man you want her to?" Mo Yuhan asked but his fingers didn't stop massaging her legs. He was straightforward like ever, the man didn't bother to go around in circles neither did he bother to explain why he knelt; he did not feel the need to.

Grandma Mo was of course offended that he didn't bother to give an explanation or apology but she did not dare to protest.

Tang Li and Mo Zihan, being latecomers were confused by such a question.

But Grandpa Mo and Grandma Mo understood it very well. Mo Jia also looked up at her Grandma with the same question in her eyes. Earlier, the conversation was interrupted at this point because of Mo Zihan's dramatic entry. So, now that they were back on track, every pair of eyes in the room gazed at Grandma Mo wanting to know it.

Grandma Mo, the ever so fearless woman, fidgeted a little under their intense gazes. "That..cough... I have given him the Ancestral couple ring.."

"What?!" Grandpa Mo looked at his wife in disbelief while Mo Yuhan frowned.

The rest of the people in the room had question marks above their heads. Ancestral rings? What kind of scourge was that?

Grandma Mo averted her gaze as she muttered, "I was impressed by that young man so I thought he would make a good pair with Jia'er. That's why…"

"That's why you gave him the ancestral rings? How can you do something so foolish?" Grandpa Mo trembled in anger. No matter what she did, he has always supported her, but there is a limit to everything.

"Grandpa Hui, what is this ancestral ring you are talking about?" Tang Li couldn't contain her curiosity anymore. After her argument with Grandma Mo the last time she came to Mo Manor, she had initially decided to stay quiet and low-key today. But her curiosity killed her resolve to do so.

The old man's attitude took a huge turn the instant he looked at Tang Li. It was like the sudden arrival of springs as he smiled, "Girl, to make the long story short...The couple rings belong to our ancestors. It's said that a long time ago, the heiress of Mo Family carved these couple rings with her own hands and gifted it to her beloved as an engagement token. Not only this pair of rings symbolize their love for each other, but it existed in the Mo Family as a relic. It could only be gifted to the 'would-be' husband of the eldest daughter in a generation." And the eldest daughter in this generation happened to be Mo Jia.

Mo Jia gripped Mo Zihan's shirt tightly, "Do...Does that means I've to marry the person you want me to?"

Grandma Mo nodded, "Yes, you will marry him." Giving the ring to someone represented a 'commitment'. No matter what time, they must marry at one point, or else it would be considered a immense disrespect to the ancestors. Though the old lady was impulsive in her decision of giving the rings to a stranger, she did not regret it a bit. She was sure that the man would turn out to be a perfect match for her granddaughter.

Mo Jia's eyes turned wide, "I...I..can't.."

"She won't marry anyone unless it is her own decision," Mo Yuhan stood up from the sofa. His words were like the royal decree that one couldn't reject.

"But…"

Mo Yuhan raised an eyebrow as he looked at the old lady. His cold gaze seemed to have shut her up in an instant.

Tang Li sighed. Her brother's love story was leaning towards the tragic ones. Lost in her thoughts, just as she was standing up, she was lifted in a princess carry. Her hands instinctively wrapped around his neck as he walked out of the room.

Mo Yuhan walked straight towards his car where Li Han opened the car door for them. He helped her in the backseat but just as he tried to stand up straight, she grabbed his collar and pulled him closer.

"_" Li Han pretended to be a part of the backdrop as he closed his eyes, 'Young Mistress, have some mercy on this single soul!'

"You just need an excuse to carry me, don't you?"

Mo Yuhan raised an eyebrow as he softly pecked her lips, "Are you provoking me?" His tongue licked her lips, "Or you simply want me to do something to you?"

Just as Tang Li opened her mouth to speak, her gaze landed on the twins coming out of the Mansion. She immediately pushed the man away before sitting straight like she wasn't the one who was flirting with him a moment ago.

Mo Yuhan followed her gaze and looked at Mo Jia and Mo Zihan walking towards him.

"How smart of you!" He mumbled as he glanced at his wife.

Tang Li smirked with a smug look on her face.

"Brother…"
