Chapter 320: Met a legend
Her eyes lit up when she spotted a familiar back near the palm tree which was a few meters away from she was standing.
When she was in the café, she felt like the source of the voice was somewhere nearby. And now that she saw the trio walking away, it did not take her long to realize why the voices became distant all of a sudden. It was because they were passing by.
Or whatever?
Tang Li did not care whatever was going on. All she knew was she had to catch up to Mo Yuhan, to give the man a tight slap before hugging him tightly. It was not until she saw him that she realized how much she missed him.
A part of her heart felt hollow.
She snapped out of her trance when she saw him walking towards the highway followed by a man and woman. Looking at the woman's haircut, she realized it was the same woman who was with him in the video with Mo Yuhan, walking around the museum.
"Mo Yuhan.." Tang Li shouted as she watched him walking away. She was not sure if he heard her since there was a good distance between them.
The man paused. It was not her illusion. He was indeed Mo Yuhan, the man who she proposed for marriage on the very first day they met after years. Hell, it was really him!
But her happiness was short-lived as the man did not turn around to look at her. She watched as the woman standing beside him held his arms before tilting her face to the side.
'What happened?' The woman asked with worry etched on her face as Tang Li read her lips while walking towards them.
She watched as Mo Yuhan shook his head and removed the hand from his arm before walking towards the highway.
Her heart was in a panic as she ran towards them but her heels did not allow her to do so as they kept digging and slipping inside the sand. She removed her heels before holding them in her hand.
The scorching sun made her perspire thoroughly, her body was all sticky and wet. Running barefoot on the sand dunes made her feel like she was walking on fire.
"M...Mo Yuhan…wait.." Tang Li panted as she leaned forwards keeping her hands on her thighs, her face flushed, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she watched the black sedan driving away.
She felt a wave of helplessness. Was there no way…?
The sudden sound of horn made her look at the white Audi coming her way. Her gaze flashed; the highway didn't have any alleys as such. As long as she got a car, she would manage to catch up to him.
Without giving it any other thought, she jumped in front of the car making the driver apply sudden breaks. The car screeched to the side and a man in his early twenties walked out of the car, fuming and raging with anger followed by two girls and one boy of the same age group.
Tang Li did not flinch, her gaze was calm and determination was unwavering. She had to do it. She did not know if he was in danger or anything as such so as long as he was with her, she would be relieved.
"Are you craz…." The young man gulped down the rest of his words when he saw her beautiful face, "Miss, are you fine? Did I hurt you? Oh no! Let me check you up. I mean let me take you to the hospital."
His friends gave him a strange look before scanning the woman standing in front of them from head to toe. The woman looked like she was in her early 20s, in the same age group as theirs.
Tang Li was wearing a black flair skirt combined with the white blouse which was soaked with sweat causing it to be stuck to her skin, it highlighted her curves. Her face was bare of any makeup except for a pink lipgloss on her lips and her hair was tied back in a high ponytail. She was standing barefoot with the heels in her hand.
''I want your car," The man choked hearing her words. Want my car? Miss, this is my brand new baby!
Tang Li looked at the other side of the road but the black sedan looked like a small dot. She would lose track of it if it went like this.
She pulled out a black card from her bag before handing it to the man, "0012. You can keep it. I want your car."
Her cold voice shook the man out of his daze as he looked at the black card blankly.
Thinking that the man was not satisfied with the offer, Tang Li quickly pulled out her business card, "Here, take it. This is my business card," The man accepted it from her hand but his attention was still stuck on the black card that she gave her.
"Now, can I have the car keys?"
He nodded his head dazedly before passing her the keys.
"Don't reveal my identity, or else there will be consequences," Without wasting a second, Tang Li jumped inside the car before stepping on the accelerator. With a 'swish', the car was gone.
"Hey, are you crazy? What if this is a fake one? We all know how rare this card is," His friends chastised him.
Caleb turned around the black card before looking at the name that was engraved on it.
'Tang Li'
His eyes widened as realization struck him. He quickly checked the business card that she gave him and it had the Ash Corporations logo on it along with her name as the CEO.
Did he just meet the legendary business tycoon 'the Tang Li'?
He felt like he was going crazy. He wanted to shout and brag to the whole world about it. After all, who did not know that the business queen has never shown her face in media. It was hilarious though she was rumored to be ugly and old, the rumors don't do justice to her real self.
"Caleb, have you turned dumb?" His friends walked towards him.
Caleb quickly stuffed the black card and business card in his pocket before smiling at his friends, "Meeting a legend has shocked me out of my wits," He chuckled. He was going to laminate the cards that Tang Li gave him.
"Huh…In your eyes, every beautiful woman is a legend."
He did not bother clearing their doubts since the queen has whispered some words beside his ear before leaving and that was to keep her identity a secret.
"Let's go. There is a resort nearby. Let's lodge in there for a day and we shall arrange a car tomorrow. Our friend here lost his wits in front of a beautiful woman and the car went to charity."
Caleb sighed. His friends were delusional. His car was not worth the amount he got in return. But he was not in a hurry to correct them for now.
He wondered if he would ever encounter the queen in future.
Little did he know that his daydreaming will turn out to be true in the near future when he would encounter Tang Li once again
