Chapter 428 Blockade
A few hours back...
After the group of four guardians left the small motel that they were staying in, they finally decided to head towards the Jesda manor. They were planning on asking one of Nathan's siblings about Nathan's whereabouts.
But of course, that was initially before they finally realized who were Nathan's siblings. One of them was what they were actually looking for. And with this, they finally believe that that they did not need to contact Nathan.
"I never expected that what we were looking for was actually there. That Nathan had simply made this thing seem as if it was a long process, but in the end, it was just simple. We had to get his sister before we can manage to use what we had obtained." Doris said as the group boarded a car.
Of course, since they had come to the 'normal' world, they had decided to do things like normal people would. At the end of the day, they would not be given a chance of coming back here easily. So, they had to enjoy themselves as much as possible during the time that they were here.
"That is to be expected. That guy had requested for some great benefits in return for the information. But in the end, I never expected that if we had investigated earlier, then, we would have found out that what he was trying to inform us about was simply about his sister." Ken replied.
Since Doris was previously living in this 'normal' world, she knew about driving. Even though it was already a few years ever since she had last driven a car, she had not forgotten about something like that.
As for where they had managed to get the car, they had of course bought it. The money, they had simply looked for gangsters, beaten them up, then stole their money. After that, they went ahead and purchased a car.
Of course, they had already made arrangements about the ownership of the car. The car was not registered under their names, but instead, it was registered under the name of a person that they had decided to pay. When they left the 'normal' world, they were going to leave the car to that person.
"Anyway, it doesn't matter. We can just go ahead, take that sister of his back to the stronghold. With that, we will have already completed the mission." Steve replied.
At the same time, they felt excitement. Nathan had been promised great rewards by Antonio if he managed to provide them with the information.
But now, since they had already found the information even without needing Nathan, then, that implied that, Antonio did not have to give Nathan anything.
As for them, other than the reward that they were supposed to be given after completing the mission successfully, there was also a fact that they had enabled Antonio not to suffer any losses.
After everyone got inside the vehicle, Doris drove towards the Jesda manor. Of course, they had already done their investigation about the residence that they were going to. They knew that they were not going to be allowed to enter through the gates without any good reason.
But, they had already made enough arrangements for this. They did not need to go through the gate to be able to reach what they wanted. They were planning to use the fence that was surrounding the entire Jesda residence.
To normal people, the fence that had been set up around the entire residence was impenetrable. But, it was only applicable to normal people. But, to them who possessed incredible abilities, it was not difficult for them to get through.
After they arrived in the direction that the target was in, they packed the car aside, then, step by step, they walked towards the perimeter wall that was filled with several defensive and warning mechanisms.
The Jesda family residence was surrounded by a forest. So, the group had to walk through the forest before arriving before the fence.
"After we are done with this, we are going to be capable of dominating the entire stronghold. After that, we can get as many resources as we want. It will not be a difficult thing for us to be able to reach nine stars, and perhaps even ten stars." John stated with excitement in his eyes.
"Stop dreaming about that. With the resources that our stronghold is receiving, it is only capable of nurturing a single supernatural. So, since we are only cannon fodders, why do you think that those people from the biggest strongholds would want to waste their resources on us?" Doris asked with a bitter smile.
"Anyway, if we dominate the entire Stronghold, then, I'm pretty sure that we can seize as much resources as possible, preventing the other organizations from getting the same amount. In that way, by using the resources that they were supposed to get, we will be able to get stronger ourselves." Ken replied.
Of course, he knew that what Doris had said was just a bitter fact. The resources that were being given to the small strongholds were actually just some of the resources that were considered as remainders.
Even though they might be useless when in the bigger strongholds, but when they came to the smaller ones, they were very important. Moreover, several organizations always fought against each other for the resources.
"With the bigger organizations keeping an eye on us, I'm pretty sure that we will not be capable of hoarding all the resources. No matter what, we have to give the other organizations their own share, even if it is just small." Steve shook his head as he replied.
The group walked steadily, not in much of a hurry. They already knew what they were looking for was here, so, they were not worried that they would not find the target. Moreover, they had also realized that, Samantha was a distance away from them.
Of course, they had already deactivated the tracking function. This way, there was no way that Samantha was going to be capable of knowing that they had come over here.
"Hold it. There is someone in front of us." Doris raised her hand and signaled for the rest of the group to stop.
The group that was just chatting with each other looked in front of them, and they realized that, there was actually a lady who was putting on an armor just like the ones that they were currently having.
Their pupils contracted. Looking at the lady in front of them, they could not recognize her at all. It seemed that she was someone from another stronghold. After all, even the armor that she was putting on did not have any emblem that signified any force in particular.
"Who are you?" Doris asked coldly as she looked at the lady standing in front of them.
"It doesn't matter who I am. But, I have been instructed that you are not allowed to come over. Since you are targeting someone from this residence, then, if you really want to go ahead with it, you will have to deal with me first." The lady in front of them replied with a cold and emotionless voice.
Doris's pupils contracted. She was not the only one as the other three also looked at the lady in front of them warily.
"Which force are you from? Additionally, why are you trying to make sure that our Panthers organization fights against the butterfly organization? What benefit are you going to get considering that you are not from the same stronghold as us?" Doris asked as she looked at the lady in front of her.
Of course, with the death of Erick, they had already begun making speculations that there might be a force in the dark that was making them fight against each other.
According to their previous speculations, they had thought that, this might be the plan of one of the organization present in the same stronghold as them.
But, considering that they had not received any information about any person in the stronghold possessing the same combat power as them leaving, then, that implied that, the person in front of them was not from the same stronghold.
As for how they were able to tell how strong she was, the armor that she was putting on was only given to those with combat strength of 8 stars. (The star system was the one that was used to rank people inside the stronghold.)
After waiting for a response, they did not receive any. Doris frowned. She did not expect that the person in front of them was going to behave in such a way. In any case, since she was not willing to negotiate with them, then, they were going to use force.
Since they had already realized who was behind Erick's death, then, there was no need for them to continue hiding. As for finding out who was behind this, they didn't care for now. They believed that as long as they got Anita, then, everything would be okay.
Doris was just about to make a move when she suddenly detected several movements coming from all directions. And when she looked around, she suddenly realized that, just like the lady in front of them, four other ladies had also appeared.
She squinted her eyes as she looked at them. From the armors that they were wearing, it was obvious that they were all of the same level. That implied that, currently, they were facing a group of five guardian level existences.
"This is getting difficult. I never expected that vice supreme leader's thoughts would come true." Doris muttered in a low voice as she looked at the five ladies.
At this moment, she realized something. Although they were possessing a numerical advantage, the five ladies were not making any move. From this, they could tell that, they only had one intention, and that was, to prevent them from reaching the Jesda residence.
"Why don't we use the mirage crystal?" Ken asked in a low voice.
"No. That cannot happen. We have to wait until the leader arrives. If the leader is at the superhuman level, then, we can use the mirage crystal to trick him, then, enter the residence and take away our target." Doris replied in a hushed voice after thinking about it for a moment.
