[A Person From the Academy]

In the hall, armed rioters were strewn around the floor.

Of course, this was Raul and Eureka’s work.

No way these thugs-like lot could defeat them.

“?! Young Mistress?!”

“Eureka… you did a great job.”

“Your words are wasted on me… I-I’m so glad you’re safe!”

Eureka, the one who had made the biggest meritorious contributions by informing us of the crisis, was moved to tears at Tayte’s words of praise. As Tayte’s fiancé, I too believed that Eureka’s hard work was worthy of a medal, so I conveyed my gratitude to her too. As a result, Eureka ended up feeling embarrassed.

Moreover…

““Tayte!””

“Father! Mother!”

Tayte’s parents—in other words, Lord Alonso and Lady Lilia were safe and unharmed as well.

The same was true for all the nobles who had been taken hostage.

…But it was still too early to celebrate.

We still didn’t know how things were going outside, and it would take some time for reinforcements to arrive.

For now, I guessed I should use a spell to restrain the rioters in the hall and after that, I’d go outside and support Andrei and the rest.

I left the mansion by myself, leaving Raul and the others to guard the hall.

I was going to support Andrei, Jarvis, and Madeline, but…

“Huh? Where are the rest of them?”

It was quiet and I could only sense the three plus a couple and some rioters around the mansion.

“That’s strange…”

I proceeded forward to shake off my unease, and…

“Barrett!” Andrei greeted me. Behind him were Jarvis and Madeline. Good. They all appeared to be safe.

“Thank goodness you’re safe. I thought something bad had happened there for a moment because it was so quiet.”

“Haha, sorry for that… There was a, uh… let’s say ‘worrisome’ guy among the armed rioters, see,” Jarvis said.

“A worrisome guy?”

“He’s a graduate of Astor Academy,” Madeline chimed in.

“What did you say?!”

The information shocked me, to say the least.

To think someone who had graduated from the Astor Academy, the same school we went to, was involved with a riot group… he might even be their informant.

“Are you sure about it?”

“Yeah, he graduated last year. We were on the same committee and I often worked together with him,” Jarvis said firmly.

…This news was going to send a storm throughout the kingdom, I bet.

Just not long ago, the crimes of the Lekrusts and the Halmans had been brought to light after the academy festival, and now he had an alumnus of the prestigious Astor Academy involved with a riot group that had taken nobles hostages… if things weren’t handled well, the very existence of the academy would be put in jeopardy.

Even so, we had to report it.

“…I will report this to Sir Klaus.”

“That would be for the best.”

Seemed like Jarvis was also aware that this was a problem we couldn’t take care of by ourselves… then again, this whole topic was sensitive to talk about for her and Madeline.

“In any case, all the hostages have been safely rescued. –Andrei, Madeline, please send word of this to the knights.”

“Okay.”

“We should ask for reinforcement too, right?”

“Yeah. Be careful on the way.”

With that, the two left, sprinting.

“Let’s keep a lookout around the mansion.”

“Alright.”

Jarvis and I decided to stay and look out for enemy reinforcements.

Thus, we, the Knights of the Academy, had completed our first mission outside the academy.

Although a big problem remained, I was relieved that we were able to fulfill our mission successfully.
